I received an e-mail from VMK last week, informing me that my name had been chosen as a winner in the Virtual Magic Kingdom iPod nano sweepstakes. Is this sweepstakes related to the one they had a few months back? I'm a bit confused, but certainly excited! Did anyone else receive a similar notice?

Yes, I remember the drawing being around February, but I find it odd that I would get a notice about the sweepstakes now. And weren't the winners notified in the game? This is why I'm so confused. :) Did anyone else receive an e-mail about the sweepstakes within the last week or so?

Maybe did they want you address so they could send it to you?

Yes, I sent them a reply and also called them to provide the information they requested. Unfortunately, the system was automated and only allowed you to leave your information so that they would know where to send the prize. I couldn't ask for any details. :( I definitely entered the referral sweepstakes, but I thought all the winners had already been chosen months ago. Perhaps, they had extra and decided to have another raffle? Well as they say, better late than never. Woot!

Maybe it is some top secret conspiracy! Maybe there is another raffle coming and they have not updated the home page because the web staff are much slower than the promotions staff? Don't ask me I have obviously lost my mind!

Possibly, they had some unclaimed prizes (invalid emails or incorrect information) and they awarded you the prize in a second drawing or off a runner up list they created that day. Lot's of drawing type contests do so.

Thanks for inquiring about this! I'm guessing tiggerspice is correct in his assumption that VMK probably had extra nanos and did a second raffle to get rid of the surplus inventory. My email came from VMK Operations so perhaps they are not directly related to the normal VMK staff we see in the game?

Wow! You sure got that quick. I got my email about my t-shirt on March 17th, and didn't get the shirt until last week lol.

I was beginning to think it might be a scam as well. And yes, I'm amazed with how fast I received the iPod too! I would have received it sooner, had I responded to the e-mail last week. The e-mail address they have on file for me is for an e-mail account I don't use too often so I'm lucky I responded in time! The message said I had two weeks to reply or they would go ahead and mail the prize out to the address they had on file. If no address was on file, the prize would have been forfeit. Good thing my VMK senses told me to log in and read my e-mail!
