It is the Japanese form of animation. So basicaly, Japanese cartoons, like Pokemon or Yu Gi Oh. And I really don't believe that lol. Even though I rarely watch it on TV... I just watch it on the computer.

this is likely false.. the U.S. would never ban anything from being sold unless they had a problem with the country.. and japan is a country that helps america... (most electrical components are developed and tested in japan before americans get to use them)

Erm... I wouldn't really care if Anime got banned. I'm not a fan at all; I rarely watch it. I only watch it if it's really good; you know, like some of the movies (NOT anything that isn't backed up by Disney).

I don't know what to say....

I like anime but these days there getting more gory and there outfits are more scimpy then b4 O_o

So I'm not really sure if I want it banned or not.

But one thing is for sure, MANGA SHOULD NOT BE BANNED!!!!!!

Someone wrote a letter to George Bush asking that Anime be banned. There are some people who do not like the more adult forms of anime but the letter is apparently a fake as well as the rumors stemming from it.

Some people who saw this fake letter then started a rumor mill going warp speed and now there are people running around screaming "Anime is dying" and even starting petions to save anime. The few people who are opposed to certain types of anime are doing so usually based on their moral viewpoint and also are against other stuff like violent video games and movies. There is no way this country is going to ban Anime as it would violate the freedom of speech.

There are sites that allow people for free to make websites, forums, stores, surveys, petitions, blogs, and other official looking sites. Do not go to that petition site as it has not nice words posted by people.

Remember to research stuff before you jump to conclusions. There are lots of urban legends out there. I once received an email about a lost child that asked for my prayers for the safe return of the child but the lost child had been found after a few hours unharmed. The incident was several years old and the town where the kid lived had to hire a clerk to deal with telephone, fax, post, and email about this lost child. Because of that email the town is now spending money that could be better used on other things like playgrounds, schools and roads.

it probably is cause they don't think it is suitable for kids but manga is worst i so i don't think they will and that it will sort of be taking away wat we can read or watch

it was a lie. the site is not even a real site. it just takes you to where when you get a site wrong.

From what I can see, this rumor has started because ONE person wrote a letter online addressed to the US President about anime. From there, it has spread that this will happen.

The US makes more money from anime now than it use to years before. This is definitly a rumor and to block out such a wide range of "Anime" is not seen as a logical move.
