Exciting, huh? :D Jdrizzle 04-23-2006, 08:22 PM I go to the Discrict of Columbia again on Wednesday. It is one of my favorite places to visit. I live relatively close to there. We go every once in a while and take the subway . The last time I went, they have blocked off Pennsylvania Avenue so we couldn't get a close up view of the White House. They used to do tours of the White House but now you have to contact a congressperson six months in advance of going on the tour. They have to run a background check on their participants. I love the American History museum. One of my favorite exhibits is the chair Robert E. Lee sat when he surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant. Also, there is a much larger museum (of which I can't think of right now) where I enjoy the dinosaur exhibits and all the unique jewels, such as the Hope Diamond. When I went to the National Spelling Bee last year, we went through several of the museums and saw a few plays at the extravigant theater there.
