I got the idea when Mocha told me she often sent someone running after her partner in the game when she was swamped with helps. (If you have no idea what I mean: Two staff are on at a time. They're partners. They take turns; one does helps [they answer reports and help tool questions] while the other walks randomly around VMK. Then they switch.)
Then her partner would come help answer helps (LOL That sounds weird.. help answer helps). Well what if we all banded together to create a group that helps staff? Everyone, regular players and leaders alike, could help out. Like when a staff is on walking and players are surrounding him/her and bomboarding them with questions, a player can do their best to answer questions and/or tell them that they're afk currently.
Leaders can help by keeping them company while they're in a private room doing helps. On a nonbusy day it has got to be boring sitting around doing nothing waiting for someone to need help. Often I get a group of Leaders together, we all walk into a room together and surprise them. While he/she is actually there we talk with them and while they're not we talk with each other and/or do bugs (Looong story :P)

Please post if you'd be interested in helping me out. OH YEAH: PLEASE POST YOUR VMK TITLE AND YOUR VMKFORUMS NAME. THANKS :) This could turn into an awesome thing. We need both players and leaders (although we're players too.. Hmm) to make it work so please when you see a staff/host, the standard greeting (LOL) is Hey INSERT TITLE HERE, having a magical day? Then dance. If you feel you need help because of swarming people, feel free to PM me or another person on the list who is online, and perhaps they'll come and help out by answering questions.

(If you're a leader, I am always opening to meeting new CL's and staff/hosts. :P I almost always go sit with them if they're on helps or go party with them if they're on walking so it always helps to have them on your friends list. PM me please if you have anyone other than Mocha, Zev, Red or Babs. I can also help you meet one of the above if you'd like. Also PM me.

Of course I read it. Only an eliterate would leave an opinion without furthing themselves in the topic. I just believe that Staff is paid to do what they do and plus, I belive a lot of people CLs and not would spend more time talking to staff than answering questions. Belive me I've seen it happen ;)

I think your idea is terrific. The only problem I would have is if I tried to answer a really important ( and they all are really important ) question and I got it wrong. That could cause more problems. But helping out is a fantastic idea, who cares about who is getting paid and who is not.

Just a thought...and I am not trying to be negative because I think it is great that you want to help, but you might want to run this by staff first to see if they really want / need help like this. Each staff member is different, so some may like the idea and others will not. I know Mocha and Red have both asked me to answer questions for them when they are busy, but I think other staff may not be a responsive to the idea.

Answering the help/report button is not the only thing they are doing. They are also randomly monitering chat in guest rooms and public rooms. How do I know this? I was in a friends room telling him how someone told me they would report me if I did not give them free stuff. I told him this happens to me frequently since I became a CL. He started joking with me and said "give me free stuff or I will report you." I knew he was joking and never reported him, but he had that little blue box pop up on his screen warning him not to threaten other players or he would get banned. It was just the 2 of us in the room at the time, so staff was watching our chat between calls for help. I'm sure they enjoy company some time, but they are really busier than most people think.

I know.. Someone out there is monitoring it. I kind of had the idea it wasn't staff. Or maybe it was an offline staff. Anyhow, various staff members (Mocha Red Bingo --there's more..) have asked me and other leaders, and I think one of their standard phrases is "A Community Leader in the room can help with the questions. I'm afk" B/c I have heard that so many times its not even funny. I can run it by them when I see them but I would need to see them first. I know Bingo Red and Mocha are OK with it. Zev is mostly afk and Babs is not on when I am. Actually yesterday she was but I had to get off while she was getting her daily creds. But that would be OT. :)

I cannot at this time volunteer. I have answered questions many times when staff is in a room that I am in. Generally staff are usually hit with the same questions over and over again like stolen stuff, is taken allowed, when will new stuff come out, how do you get Narnia or other stuff, how do play Yeti Vision and other games, can staff trade plz, can staff be friends, can staff come to a room to do judging, and on and on.

If you want to help staff then you need to know that staff person's wishes on how questions are answered. Just because you know that something is true does not mean you should say that in VMK like that staff are adults. If you want to help start with VMK Red as she is the most nicest and lets people help even if they make mistakes or are not eloquent in their explanations.

sacura: No, you're don't have to have them on your friends.. which is impossible if you're not a cl anyways. I guess it isn't much of a group, just sort of something to call attention to something that I think most staff would appreciate.

If I get clearance from enough staff, then I will try and make some sort of room to announce to people the need for people to answer questions, even if not cl.

Right now there's not any meetings actually, but next time you see a staff, try not to bug them to death instead try answering questions.
