Walt Disney Productions TV series based on the well-known Zorro character, premiered October 10, 1957 on ABC. The final network broadcast was September 24, 1959. 78 episodes were produced, and 4 hour-long specials were aired on the Walt Disney anthology series.
The show was very popular, especially with children, and its theme song (written by Norman Foster and George Bruns) was a hit recording for The Chordettes, peaking at #17 on the Hit Parade. The series only ended due to a financial dispute between Disney and the network.

yeah it was great that they still showed these, but now i guess they're lost forever? When Bob Iger was handling questions at the Disney Shareholder's meeting, he was asked whether the Disney Channel would show those old programs again. He said the ratings did not justify it.
However, Disney is now again embracing the idea of making programming available through disney.com, and he said as a result of the question, he would have them look into placing those old shows on the Internet for download.
