View Full Version : Quest Help: 280,000 in Fireworks
BelgianWaffle 04-14-2006, 01:10 AM This Is Regarding the GREEN Autopia Car Quest!
From previous posts, it seems like 280,000 is impossible.
Well I'm not here to tell you other wise. because I still
havn't reached that .... goal. I am just here to offer
a different view on this Quest --
As you may have seen from previous posts,
there are over 315 fireworks in the game. so here are the possible scenarios:
Fantasyland: 46,000
Stage 1: 1/13=Awesome, 12/13=Flawless
Stage 2: 1/16=Good, 1/16=Awesome, 14/16=Flawless
Stage 3: 1/19=Good, 5/19=Awesome, 13/19=Flawless
Adventureland: 97,000
Stage 1: 2/16=Awesome, 14/16=Flawless
Stage 2: 1/15=Awesome, 14/15=Flawless
Stage 3: 1/23=Good, 6/23=Awesome, 16/23=Flawless
Tomrrowland: 150,000
Stage 1: 1/15=Good, 1/15=Awesome, 13/15=Flawless
Stage 2: 2/19=Good, 4/19=Awesome, 13/19=Flawless
Stage 3: 6/26=Good, 4/26=Awesome, 16/26=Flawless
Frontierland: 214,000
Stage 1: 1/22=Miss, 2/22=Good, 5/22=Awesome, 14/22=Flawless
Stage 2: 3/23=Good, 6/23=Awesome, 14/23=Flawless
Stage 3: 7/27=Good, 4/27=Awesome, 16/27=Flawless
Parkview: 280,000
Stage 1: 3/24=Good, 6/24=Awesome, 15/24=Flawless
Stage 2: 5/22=Good, 4/22=Awesome, 13/22=Flawless
Stage 3: ?/~36=Miss, 7/~36=Good, 6/~36=Awesome.....
---------------------
So basically, this comes from the video done by WDWTigger72 along with imput of my vmk friends. There are other ways to know whether or not you have a chance at 280,000 -or not-.
Miss a firework? Substitute 4 Awesome or 2 Good for Flawless, and that mistake is covered!
Stage Goals:
Level 1: 12,600 | 27,500 | 46,000
Level 2: 61,000 | 76,000 | 97,000
Level 3: 112,000 | 128,000 | 150,000
Level 4: 168,000 | 190,000 | 212,000
Level 5: 236,000 | 255,000 | 280,000
Sounds crazy huh? :hop:
xvintage 04-14-2006, 01:16 AM Acctually, that sounds pretty darn good to me =D
Retri 04-14-2006, 01:17 AM Yeah that is crazy! Usually when I play I get from 245,000-260,000... I have most of your estimated scores until stage 3 level 3. Then its just downhill from there.
princessshannie 04-14-2006, 01:27 AM what quest is this?
Retri 04-14-2006, 01:29 AM Its for the Green Autopia quest.
FantasyBlueBoy 04-14-2006, 01:33 AM I like gave up.. 30,000 for JC is fine for me, I am awesome at fireworks.. But 280,000 will put you up on high scores.
BelgianWaffle 04-14-2006, 01:40 AM I like gave up.. 30,000 for JC is fine for me, I am awesome at fireworks.. But 280,000 will put you up on high scores.
AND it will get you a green pin ;) i am very open in saying: I have NOT completed this yet. neither will 90% of the vmk population.... i might be over shooting it a bit, but still. And maybe this is just one of those things that is meant to be?
*sigh* someday. SOMEday....
PirateDaisy 04-14-2006, 02:14 AM I'm good up until Adventureland Stage 3, then it's all downhill from there. lol But then again, I once thought I could never reach 240,000 but I did. I'm about 10,000 away from reaching 280,000. With enough practice it can be done. ;)

lol- same here! The most I have ever gotten is 10,000 away... and this happens only when I first long on!
:shifty:
MamaJo 04-14-2006, 03:01 AM It is possible to get that much. I have happened to achieve this goal a couple of times but I play fireworks a lot. It just takes patience and practice to get your timing right. GOOD LUCK.
mickey1970mouse 04-15-2006, 01:52 PM At first, I never got to stage 3. Then with a good mouse and practice I started getting 240,000-260,000. With the invent of the green car quest I can get in the 270,000 all the time now. And I finnally got over 280,000 this week winning the green car. This quest is possible it just takes a lot of practice, and fast computer, and a really good mouse.
I Think This quest Is Way To Hard Now!
BelgianWaffle 04-16-2006, 03:41 AM well congradulations on the green car-
unlike me - still - im getting there. I can mostly reach/follow the goals untill Level 3 then i miss on - then i get a lot of Awesomes because I am afraid I won't get Flawless - and then and then and then ....... i don't get it. basically.
well i will keep my spirits up! yay! :]
DizCaptain 04-16-2006, 12:32 PM Well I forget is this the quest that is the last autopia one? 280,000 in fireworks seems rather difficult to me! Anyway the most I have ever gotten in fireworks is 210,000 points.
By the way everyone... ...Happy Easter!:dye_eggs2: :easter_basket: :bunny_basket: :easterchild: :easter-bop-a-bunny: :hoppy_easter_bunny: :blbunny: :easter_basket:
MACPlink 04-16-2006, 12:41 PM I can never seem to get past 230k but I have once gotten 242k and only once. There's a better chance of me having a million credits before I get that green car rofl >_<
:hoppy_easter_bunny: :easter_basket: :bunny_basket:
RikuBlade 04-16-2006, 03:17 PM Just a quick comment, speed is also important too. If you have a fast computer ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS refresh another page and the fireworks will come easier. When you lag it's easier to get more points. No this is not a joke it's helped me a lot

Speed is the key honestly no one would be getting these high socres if they had slow computers. My computer is fast and that helps me a lot. That is not always ture RikuBlade yes sometimes you do get more on the lag but usually it hurts you when the combinations come out. Even if you get awesome it is better that missing a firework always remember that. Watch the patterns you can memorize some of them that helps me an awful lot. I wish you all the best of luck on it.
RikuBlade 04-16-2006, 03:42 PM It was only easy for me because I did have a real laggy computer which helped me practice for the lag. And if you truly have a fast computer, the lag disappears within the first 6 fireworks.

Yeah that's true and I wish you all luck too, but sometimes if you do miss a firework it's better in a weird sense...

I <3 my fast computer i have some of my best scores ever from it.

So have I, and another tip for everyone. Usually it takes about 600 reps of firework games to memorize the patterns

LOL maybe that is why i memorized every pattern. Thanks for sharing i did not know that.

Unless, You have a really good memory :) When they changed the fireworks, where you had three possible scenarios it was only a brief amount of time before I picked up the new scenarios. Probably more like 25-50 games or so, but I think when you pick up other aspects of the game the memory part becomes easier (i.e. Not having to look at firework selection bar, immediately after bursting firework placing mouse pointer where next firework location will be, etc).
charstar 04-19-2006, 03:45 AM A big Thank you to everyone who helped me out on this quest, I GOT my Green Car!
I was able to get it by blind luck on Sunday 284,560 and was in first place for half of Easter Day. shot up 3000 points, to get it,
and I ran far away from Fireworks .

CONGRADULATIONS!!! ..... im jealous ;)
BelgianWaffle 04-23-2006, 06:59 PM any other comments?
MrGenie 04-23-2006, 08:12 PM Well, there is no substitute for practice. Back when I basically quit playing fireworks several months ago, I didn't think it would be possible for me to score higher than 270,000. But, after hours and hours (and hours) of practice, I was able to improve my consistency and find a few places where I could raise my average. Even if you get Flawless on all or most of the fireworks that appear one at a time, that is still a range of 950 to 1000 points. You have to decide where the appropriate balance is for you...should you hit them as soon as the star appears and settle for around 950 points, or do you want to wait until just before they disappear which is riskier but worth more points? One thing that I discovered last week is that I was hitting the purple "pretzels" too early. They really do disappear quite slowly relative to the other fireworks, other than the green spirals. By just hitting those a little later on average, I improved my average scores by over a thousand points. Every little bit helps!
Regarding the stars, one thing that definitely helps me is to visualize exactly when the star will appear before it appears. Once you get good at anticipating when this occurs, it makes it easier to find a rhythm and maximize your points on each firework. If you are just trying to wait until you see the star appear and then react, that doesn't allow for much reaction time, particularly on the fireworks that disappear more quickly (not to mention the fact that the animation is sometimes choppy as well).
Some people have recommended a faster mouse speed, but I already had a very high mouse speed set and I actually got better results by lowering my mouse speed (seems less jumpy). Again, this is personal preference, but if you find that your improvements are stalling then you might try tweaking your mouse settings. Another thing you can change is your screen resolution. I typically run 1280 x 1024, but dropping this to 1152 x 864 or even 1024 x 768 makes it easier to see the stars. You might also try experimenting with different sound combinations...full sound, no music, or no sound.
Lastly, if looking at your score makes you nervous (personally, I play worse when I have a good score going than when I have a bad score going), then you might want to stick a Post-It Note over your score once you get past a certain point and then just focus on doing the best you can. Regardless of your score, you are going to try to do as well as possible, right? So unless you need to know your score to determine whether or not you want to quit and start over, it's not that helpful and may actually throw you off.
Good luck! I was lucky enough to get my green car pin last night after weeks of trying (although I was so excited, I accidentally hit the wrong smiley for the last step of the Quest and almost ran out of time). :D
swimmingemma49 04-23-2006, 08:20 PM The highest I have gotten on fireworks is around 230,000... and I got that today. I'm still aiming to get 240,000 and my pin, so this 280,000 seems insane to me. I'm glad some people have achieved it :).
BelgianWaffle 04-24-2006, 05:07 AM thanks so much for the tips! I am in need of them!
Athena 04-29-2006, 07:13 PM Now is seems MORE impossible LOL!
Neoteny 04-29-2006, 09:47 PM Even when I think I'm doing well, I can't get more than 260,000. But I haven't given up yet!
BlueReap 04-29-2006, 09:54 PM 280,000 points in fireworks in the green car quest??!?!??!!!
i did the car quest and i had to get only 200,000 points
awsomeboy 04-29-2006, 09:58 PM Well im with blue how could it be 280,000 points in fireworks!!! maybe u should tell staff to fix it for you and most ppl had to get 200,000 points
gigarichard 04-29-2006, 10:04 PM Its very hard. I play fireworks all the time and the highest I have gotten is 276,000. Still close though. I guess its just good timing and practice.
TheCoasterNut 05-01-2006, 01:08 AM You might also try experimenting with different sound combinations...full sound, no music, or no sound.
That is an excellent point MrGenie. You see, I was playing Fireworks earlier today, and for some reason there was no music, this made it much easier for me to focus on the fireworks, and I increased my score from 220000 ish to 239286. . . after screaming about how i just missed the magic i realized that, for me at least, no music is the way to go :)
Neoteny 05-01-2006, 01:13 AM I find the music helps with my timing. Without music I score lower.
BelgianWaffle 05-10-2006, 06:44 AM weird-
I can't have music on while playing fireworks ... well so i think...
maybe that has to do with listening to music while I do homework. I get so distracted- I start singing along! :]
mistey 05-10-2006, 01:05 PM Funny as it may sound I have increased my score a whopping 30,000 just by playing on my laptop! I was tapped out at 250,000 but now have got 280 once and generally always get 275-278. My desktop is fast but has a 20" screen and vmk window is huge. I really think for me the smaller screen (and my laptop rocks for speed) is what took me to a whole new level of competition. I also turn the music portion of game off and leave the effects which has helped.
I'm pretty good for a consistent 240,000+ and finally hit 253,000 today. I always score higher when the sound is turned off, but occasionally play with it on because I like to hear the fireworks go BOOM!
jeremyv 05-11-2006, 09:33 AM Yes, Tigger's video helped me quite a bit. I still haven't broke 260 yet, close though with 259.
I agree they should lower the score requirement. Not as low as 200k, but maybe to 240k, for those who work so hard to win their firework pins.
The mansion part is pretty tough too. I have yet to capture 85 ghosts without counting the double scores.
.
Neoteny 05-11-2006, 02:55 PM With the Mansion game, it helps to find a cooperative "opponent." This doesn't help with Fireworks.
Chaelle 05-12-2006, 01:09 AM Wow! How in the world did you figure that out?
~Chaelle
Mickeymouse 05-15-2006, 05:11 PM I'm good up until fronteirland Stage 2, then it's all downhill from there. lol But then again, I once thought I could never reach 240,000 but I did. I'm about 20,000 away from reaching 280,000. With enough practice it can be done.
Neoteny 05-15-2006, 05:15 PM Yeah, I'm still stuck in the 260,000 range. But I've been inching up slowly.
TracyBehave 05-15-2006, 09:31 PM I've gotten around 285,000 when I was at my peak
And no, I don't have a natural talent ;)
I just practice a lot. But I know all of you hate hearing that, so I'll give you some tips that might raise your score.
1) Make sure you can hear the fireworks bursting. Turn up your speakers. The sounds of them launching and stuff kinda helps you a little.
2) Keep your arm loose. Make sure it's not like hanging off of the computer desk, and at the end of every level, take your arm off of the table and move it around a bit.
3) When it comes to the first round, I've noticed something. If you start off with your pointer on the brown firework, it'll start on it. I'd suggest keeping it on a color that blasts slowly. (Like the three rings, or the green spiral)
4) Don't stand too far away from the screen.
5) When it comes to the last few rounds, take advantage of the fact that you can use both of the mouse clickers. I bet half of you didn't know that :)
6) Don't scold yourself for missing 1 firework. It'll end up snowballing and you'll kind of ruin your chances.
7) If all else fails, try changing your mouse settings. Make the mouse's movements a little more sensitive, so you can get to that firework on the other side of the screen. However, don't put the bar all the way to the side, because it will go crazy.
Good luck!
And btw, I did it :) These tips raised my score the 5,000 that I needed.
MissPorscha 05-15-2006, 09:33 PM WOw he must have had alot of time to think about this! LOL
DEEPLAKE 05-15-2006, 09:42 PM one thing i would like to suggest is don't use a lap top because its way hard unless your left handed.
Neoteny 05-15-2006, 09:51 PM How does being left-handed help?
