Before I go ahead and hit the button. What exactly does the ignore a member button do? Will it keep me from seeing their posts and threads?
Or if any members use it could you fill me in?

You just cant see their posts. You can still see their threads though. Instead of what they said, you get this big box that says the user is blocked.

With one exception. You can't "ignore" mods or admins. :)

You can take a user off your ignore list at any time.

I have a question. What if you clicked the ignore button by accident on one of your friends or something, or somebody who didn't do anything bad, could you get them off your ignore list? And also does the person get a message that they are being ignored by you?

Adding someone to your ignore list makes it so you can't see any of their posts and you can't get PMs from them. You can remove people from ignore list by clicking on the buddy/ignore list in your userCP. You can add other users, but they won't be informed that you've set them to ignore.
