I know you are probably constantly inundated with questions and requests. I would not write to ask for assistance unless I had exhausted all other options, which is now the case. I'll keep this brief as possible.
I have been a member of VMK since before it officially started and I proudly wear my "Here since Day 1" badge, and am now also proudly wearing my Community Leader badge.

Early on in VMK history there was a change in the magic spell given with the Kelloggs codes. I entered the code for buried in treasure magic, but it came out as a second pirate magic pin. Now it seems I can not ever get the buried in treasure magic, because the code is considered to have been used already.

Now that there are player created quests that require the use of this magic spell this has become a problem because I cannot complete any of these quests. It is impossible for me to ever trade for one, because that pin can not be traded.

I am just wondering will the Kelloggs magic spells ever be tradable again? I'd love to be able to complete my magic spell collection and be eligible to participate in all quests.

I'm not the only player with this little code bug, and I am hoping someone can help me and others who have this problem. If the pin will not ever be tradable, I am wondering if there is any way that VMK staff or developers could do something to fix the bug and allow me to get this pin.

To summarize, I am aware that there were three different codes for the three different magic spells ( pirate magic, Buried in Treasure, and Cursed Storm). I obtained all three codes, but because of the code change the code for buried in treasure gave me a second pirate magic spell instead of buried in treasure. I would like to find a way to get the buried in treasure magic spell. I would be very appreciative if you could help me out.

Interesting twist on the Cursed Storm code bug (http://www.vmkforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6265)....hope you get it fixed!

EDIT: I have unarchived the Cursed Storm magic thread and moved a few posts there since it seems many of you are still having problems with the more common bug.

Yea I have the same problem but with the Cursed Storm and I posted a long time ago that I needed help with that pin but I'm still waiting... That's why I thought that Yavn couldn't fix those pins any longer.

When i was sorta new in beta, I entered The pirate magic, The Gold Magic, Then i had got another Gold Magic aswell, So i wore them and someone told me to combine them. So i did, Now i have a 2 Star Gold Magic, And can't ever get cursed storm magic. So, i have to skip many quests :(.

I have tried many many times to find Yavn in his room, but I seem to have the worse luck with it. When his rooms are open I never seem to get in there while he is still there.

If anyone has him on their friends list, or is lucky enough to bump into him in the game, if you could mention this post -- I and many other people with this code bug would be very very thankful.

Maybe if they could just make the pins tradable for a little while, then we could all straighten it out ourselves by trading with one another :)

Ok I had this happen too. I thought the other day that I had asked him to fix my bug for this, but I ended up with Snowman magic the next day!>?!? I have no idea where it came from lol. So yavn, good buddy, I would love it if you could hook me up with the cursed storm too. And thanks for the snowman if that was you too!!!

i too never bothered to get my confused pins sorted out....silly me
now i have the buried treasure and pirate but no cursed storm because i entered the codes before the bug was fixed.....if i try to enter the cursed storm code it says i have used that code......

I keep finding more and more people in the game and here on the fansite who have this same code bug.

Wouldnt it be so great if they made the Kelloggs Magic Pins tradable again? Even if only temporarily.. We could all straighten it out ourselves and Yavn and the rest of the VMK staff and designers and producers could keep working on all the new projects that they continually surprise and delight us with.

I have written to VMK through the "contact us" link, about this, and I am hoping everyone else with this bug has also done so. Maybe if enough letters about the same problem come in, it will receive a higher priority among things that need to be fixed?

Here is my daily update/editoral/bump, in hope that yavn will see us here :) I feel like I am tending a large rescue fire on the beach of a deserted island in hopes that the planes overhead will see us..LOL Here's another log on the fire. :)

I have two Buried in Treasure pins and one Pirate... No Cursed Storm :( I feel so left out.

I have all the Magic pins except of Course Dancing Inferno. Oh wait! I am misisng Cursed Storm :(... Please someone come to our rescue

Update!

The other day Peggo (VMK name used with permission) who also has this same Kelloggs code bug, bumped into Yavn during the Tomorrowland Event where he and others were showing off the Tron suits that are coming soon.

She asked him if he could fix her Kellogs code bug, and he replied
"I will Peggo"

He was busy at the moment with the scheduled tour in the new costume, but I am hoping that insted of just taking down her name and fixing her code issue on an individual basis, that he instead meant that perhaps he is working on a solution for all of us. She did also mention this thread here on VMK forums, and hopes that he saw it before he left the room.

At the very least, this small exchange tells us that he is aware that there are still players out there with the Kelloggs code bug issues.

I'll keep everyone following this thread posted on any new information I get on the subject. Also I ask that anyone reading this, if you bump into Yavn in the game, it would help so many players if you could alert him that this problem still exists for many players and direct him towards this thread and the cursed storm thread (link posted above by MrGenie).

It wouldn't bother me as much not having the Cursed Storm Magic Pin if there weren't so many Quests requireing it.
Besides, it really is a cool magic, and I still really really would love to have it, but can't with the present bug. :(

I feel the same way Peggo. Hopefully there is a solution in progress as we speak. Your little conversation with Yavn in the game makes me hopeful that he is already working on it and we just havent seen it yet. But until I hear official word from either staff or Yavn, I'll keep this thread and hope alive.

I got all the way to number three in line, then saw here that his quest is already over. :( I had hoped to be able to say something to him about your pin situation, also.

Reebee, have you tried going to Discovery Island to "use" the Kellogs magic pins there? Something I saw in another thread makes me think this might work for your predicament. Might be worth a try!

Yes, I have tried the Discovery Island magic and the Spell room, but neither satisfied the quests that require the use of that magic pin. It gets so frustrating to be partly or even almost completely done with a quest and then get to a task of using magic that it is impossible for me to ever obtain.

Hopefully someday this issue will be resolved. The worst part is that the only people who have this issue are the people who have been on VMK since it first opened.

I saw that Yavn even posted here on this forum today. Hopefully he saw this thread.

Is it okay to keep this thread going? I dont know what else I could possibly do to get the help needed for people like myself with this code bug. I have talked to staff in the game. I have talked to QA_ tester people in the game. I have written to VMK via the Contact Us Button, several times. I have tried endlessly to find Yavn in the game.

So many people have told me that Yavn had fixed their kelloggs code bug for them, so I know he knows this problem exists. It just seems like I and many others have missed the boat.

I dont know if this is a lost cause or not, but I dont know what else to do. I'll keep bumping (no closer than 24 hours together) as long as it is okay.

Maybe now that the Pirate Movie is coming out this summer, there are plans to release new Kelloggs magic codes, and the problem will be fixed then?
