My son wants to trade his invisibility. He has it on his signature that he will trade it. Someone clicks on him to trade, and offers him tons and tons of furniture, sky way pin, gold ears and black ears and accepts. Then son relizes he's wearing the pin, so he tells her he has to take it off.

He takes it off, then can't remember who he was trading with. Before he figures it out, the room owner asks him to trade and when he declines he gets booted. Poor guy. I was sitting next to him during all this.

He goes to another trade room, all sad. When in comes a girl and asks him to trade. He sees her clothes and name and says, that's her. Again she offers him all that. He puts in the pin, accepts, then .....

gets the message that VMK is closed and his connection was lost. Now he doesn't know if she accepted or not. And if not will he find her again before she trades elsewhere. He wrote her name down this time. Poor kid.

Now he doesn't want to go to bed, he's too excited. It's 10 here, so he has to go though. He only gets to stay up late to dance at closing during the Summer.

****edited to add:

I guess this should be in rants. Sorry. If you want to move it or delete it, I understand. Wasn't thinking clearly.

I hope that your son find the person today and that the trade goes through ok. Hopefully she accepted just before closing then your son will have the stuff :).

Update:

Well, after posting her last night, I went to Dis and was reading the board and learned that the person my son was involved in this trade with was acused of some shady trading (not accusing, just stating what I read). That made me a little nervous. I didn't want my son to get scammed. The pin I could earn and replace for him, but still it would hurt him. I was worried last night.

I got up this morning and checked his account. The pin is still there. For whatever reason the trade didn't complete. Either she didn't accept or didn't accept in time.

I couldn't go to sleep last night, so I got to thinking about what kind of scam it could have been (again, not accusing, just wondering how it could have happened). This is what I came up with:

She (being any scammer) entered some furniture than an ear, then furniture, ear, pin the furniture. By the time she was done, the ears and pin had scrolled off the screen. She could have removed the ears and pin as she was putting the other furniture down and in the confusion he probably wouldn't have noticed, me either for that matter.

So, if you are trading with someone, see them put what you want in the box, and then they add a bunch more, double check that the special items you want are still there before accepting.
