Okay, I was thinking, what if only certain people could see a thread? Now wait! See where I'm going with this. Okay, something like this would happen: As an option you could check a box then click Submit Thread. Like the polls it would take you to another screen you would fill out some things along with who you want to see the thread, you would have to type their title in right or it wouldn't work.

Ex:

Qui-gon
LadyVader
AwesomeTom
Schmoofy

And so on. Then the mods would get this and they would decide if it's okay. So, like "friends only" guest rooms it wouldn't appear to most users. Now why would I want to do this? Because alot of times when we try to make a game (games that only allow say, 20 people. Like the Apprentice) on the VMKF we get people that we don't want sometimes, LOL. I'm not trying to be mean but toward the end and the beginning people are asking if they can play or be in the next "season".

Another reason: Sometimes when some people are doing a game, we have people who can make backgrounds and such, but when it's team against team, the other team could steal or copy the other teams' ideas. I'm not saying anyone will but you never know.

The only bad thing is, you'll get abuse. Yes, people will want it for no good reason and I know other things will pop up and the mods might not want to deal with that. But what do you say?

~Q/SWe couldn't set this up for a single thread. We would have to set this up much like the spoiler or rants forums are set up, where we'd create a user group and a new forum for only those users joined to the new user group would be able to view and post there. Normally, if we don't have a large number of users to join and feel there won't be a great deal of postings, we don't create a new forum or user group.

If you have the limit of gamers for your threads and others are coming in and disrupting it, you can report them to a mod or use the report a bad post button and a mod will come resolve the problem.

couldnt you just set up a "private" chat amongst the members of your group?

that might work better... and wouldnt cause spam on the forums ;)

There is always PM systems, and the Chat room. You can also IM each other whatever you needed to say.

I didn't know you could do that, lol.

EDIT: Wait, are you saying on VMK or in the chat room, if it's on VMK I don't think that would work because of all the words they block out.
