Spring 2006 starts off with what could possibly be a sleeper hit and rake in over 50 million, Aquamarine

This film stars JoJo, someone that is adored by 'tweens' all over the United States for her hit song 'Get Out' in 2004. It also starts Nick actress Emma Roberts who is poised for bigtime. This weekend was a failure for the film but marketing has gotten very high. Expect this film to rake in 7-10 million steady for a few weeks.

The Shaggy Dog will start the spring out strong for Walt Disney Company in the theatres. The film starring Tim Allen and with a clever storyline will most likely rake in a decent amount on the level of Aquamarine.

Ice Age 2 will be coming out on March 31st and should also be doing a steady amount like the two films above you. The film is loaded with comedic stars like Ray Romano and Denis Leary. Expect the same classic gang from last time and more. This is most likely the biggest PG draw of the spring.

The biggest draw of this spring will be Mission Impossible 3

This spring seems to only have one major drawer to theatres, MI 3 and just maybe, Ice Age 2.

Expect a big June and July in theatres though :)

I agree with this analyzation of MI3. It will probably do very well considering the perfomance of MI2, and that it has JJ Abrams, aka Lost mastermind, on the directors seat. As for the other films, i have no idea what aquamarine is so i can't rate give any predictions. I expect shaggy dog to make money maybe on the lines of Pacifier, and Ice age two is a complete toss up, it really depends on the reviews. If it gets reviews like shrek 2, we could have a smash hit sequel, or it could flop due to a bad word of mouth. Now as for the summer, i'm expecting an even bigger box office decline then last year. Nothing really excites me except for Pirates and the Da vinci code. Pirates will probably due extremely well, probably on the lines of star wars. The da vinci code, well maybe between 200-300 mil worldwide.

usually the top times that movie companies will release movies are in Summer (aka late June/July) or Winter (November/December) so most the time huge movies dont get released in spring and fall

I agree with your guesses Joece. I think The Shaggy Dog looks like a good funny movie.
