I just got the sims 2 yesterday and when I install the university expansion pack then the sims 2 base won't work and the computer says to play the university pack instead of the sims. Please help me out.

Uh, you have install the sims deluxe or an original kind or get sims 2 working.

actually u want it to happen, dont worry it wont take out the original sims data its just adding data to it

Yeah, because it saves all the data you put in, so install the Sims 2 in the same spot.

Don't worry about it! It does not change anything just use the University disk instead of The Sims 2 disk. However, If you uninstall the sims 2 university, it will uninstall the Sims 2.

I don't see the problem in it overwriting it?

Um are you trying to say that you want to be able to play The Sims 2 and the Sims 2 University as two separate programs? Like if you click on the Sims 2 icon it'll only load up the Sims 2 game and then if you do the same with University it will only load that game? If you are, well stop trying because you can't do that. Sorry but why would you want to do that anyway?

You can play sims 2 alone, but you can't play the expansion pack alone. The expansion pack, is of course, expanding the world of the sims. So why would you want to keep them separate? If your thinking you can never play the regular again, you can go from college towns to regular towns. Trust me, my cousin plays the sim, and bought a guide for it that included info on the university expansion pack, and I read that guide.
