now do u ppl get it?? i play euphonium in band what do i have to put my old clarinet pic and then its jokes like when i was playing last year i went to get a new reed and when i did the evil clarinet came and hit me in the eye and i couldn't see for 3 hours BUT NOW I PLAY MY WONDERFUL EUPHONIUM THAT HASN'T HIT ME YET WHICH I HOPE IT NEVER DOES CAUSE IT WEIGHS 20 POUNDS AND I STILL HAVE AN EVIL CLARINET DOWNSTAIRS IN MY HOUSE

i play trumpet but when I get bored i will play a school euphonium and it is sooooooo much fun.

lol yes ppl get it and vmk rocker i played the clarinet before and hated every min of it but when i was going to quit the other band director came to me and asked me to play a brass instrument and he said choose between euphonium!!!!, trumpet, or trombone. I picked euphonium not knowing what it was and i liked the mouthpiece. I enjoy band alot now. I love it i get to do something i enjoy. And let's just say in high school there are some hot boys in band. I WIN!! LOL

Okay confused people, a baritone, (if you know what that is) (smaller tuba ;)) has a curved bell (the oppening usually at the top) a euphonium has a bell that goes straight up.

Bass Clarinets are better! Lol! I got switched from clarinet to bass clarinet. My band system goes Symphinc (8th grade class, meh ish 7th grader in 8th grade!), Concert (7th mostly, some 8th), Beginnger 1&2 (6th or anyone who is just starting.. there are two classes, but both are the same!)

Lol, I knew what a Euphonium is...

6th grade band (you have to take band when you enter the school)
Beginner Band (starting a completely new instrument)
Intermediate Band (Mainly 7th graders or people switching instruments that are similar to their old ones)
Concert Band (most people start in 8th grade)

Wind Ensemble
Jazz Band

Baritones have a straight bell as well. The only differences are that baritones have 3 valves and euphoniums have 4. Also, euphoniums have a better core and sound better than baritones.

LOL JK but i can't say too many bad things about clarinet or bass clarinet because i used to play clarinet (switched instruments) my sister played clarinet and bass clarinet and my brother played E flat clarinet and B flat clarinet.

someone's a bit conceited with their school's band XD

but anyways, our bands start in 4th grade, and you choose an instrument, then in 5th grade you are open to try out for the jazz band, then in middle school you are also welcome to try out for jazz band ((well you always are welcomet to try out in MS/HS)). Then we have seperate bands for grades 6,7,and 8. the jazz band is for our general middle school all together. In High School, we have a jazz band, symphonic band, concert band, and marching band. And a band camp thingie :P The concert band is the entire school, marching band is I think manditory for everyone ((excuse my spelling)), and the other bands you must try out for.

As for me, I'm an alto sax player in Middle School concert band and the jazz band :D And I'm loving it :)

this thread was started because of my friend and me started writing letters where my euphonium was king henry the second and he was the king of losers (by her say)
and her oboe was king fredrick the second the king of the oboes
and so after a little while we decided that we should make a thread on here of things that we had said and mine was the whole evil euphoniums deal LOL

And the whole idea is i say all instruments sound the best played together

i play the clarinet....It is really confusing, but not as confusing as that thing!
