I believe the rewards are only through booking a Disneyland Resort vacation at the moment.

http://i12.****************/albums/a214/CL_TropicalStich/VMK_PopUp3.jpg

Go to Disneyland.com

Click on "Tickets and Reservations"

Enter your trip information and click "Get Started"

Your results will then be displayed. Look under "Special Features:" below "Dining:" and it will say "VMK Virtual Rewards". Click that and the pop-up containing the pictures and information posted will appear.

Credit for the finding goes to CL_LisaWDW. She told me where to find the information. :)

Awesome find Stitch! I can't wait for the promo to come to WDW, if it does at all. Anyways, someone was wearing a stitch hat tonight, and I offered 2 inferno and a white snowman for it. He refused the things saying that hat was worth way more. These things are going to be worth a ton!

Wait.. Wont in the future stitch hats not be rare because.. Just like gold monster teleporters how ppl were offering Rare beta and then shrunk to buyables and retired, Because all you do is have to book a trip to a Resort.. That means its as easy as getting quest from the VMK Central/Cinema in WDW and DLR.. Or is it really going to be worth 2 or 3 infernos?!

I'm not so sure. You have to book a hotel and purchase the tickets from them in order to get the rewards. A two night trip with the tickets is $1,000+ and you only get one per trip. I'm not sure a lot of parents want to pay that much for their children to get a virtual item.

What if you make a reservation and then cancel after you get the cards?
(I'm NOT suggesting anyone DO this, I'm just curious about them kicking down the cards so far ahead of the actual stay. I also know that it will get totally out of hand if you can score cards that way)

I have an AP for DLR so I hope they do this for WDW too! I plan to go there in Sept.

I'm not so sure that this will be a problem for several reasons. The first is that depending on when and how you book the trip, you might be charged a "cancellation" fee if you cancel too late. Second, if they see somoene is constantly booking and then canceling trips they may place a "hold" of sorts on you. You might be able to cancel once or twice but I would imagine too many would send out alarms. Perhaps, they will limit the number or times you can receive the promotional cards (90 day rule) similar to turning in the quests.
My biggest issue would be the same as the Herbie promotion; one set of cards and more than one kid in the group who plays. I hope it arrives at WDW soon, I owe my family a trip to Animal Kingdom Lodge as a late Xmas present. :D

I shudder to think of someone booking 100 trips then canceling for cards!

Anywho, I have an answer about cancellations. I was booking a trip for late OCT, and checked the terms and cancellations policy. Cancellations START at $100 (outside of 30 days until arrival), and go up from there. Changes start at $25.
Unless I read it wrong. Which I do. Dyslexia stinks.

Hey Tiggerspice! I was playing on disney booking online too for a 2 night stay with tickets, cost was $1000+ at Grand CA hotel and then came to that Terms and Rules section and saw that Cancellations 30+ days in advance of arrival was a fee of $100. NO WAY!!!!!!! So if you really aren't going to do a trip, you would be paying $100 cancellation fee just to get a virtual prize. NO WAY!!!!!! I read what you read....

Ok, am I the only one who finds this deal outrageous?!?! Disney is insane to set up a plan like this. For one thing it's way too expensive to book a trip just to obtain three cards. Granted your going to Disneyland but come on! And another thing, it's not fair to the the players who live on the east coast who regularly go to Disney World for the vacations.

I mean if i lived near Disneyland, I would make the drive and stay a weekend, but I live in New York, Jet Blue to Orlando, 59 bucks (last time i booked they had a sale going on lol)

And just think of it this way, how may older people who have no clue or no desire to find out what vmk is are booking vacations throught DLR and Dumping the cards....

Also if you you book with DLR and cancel they will charge you. WDW will not charge if you cancel 30 or 60 day's prior.

I still think it's not fair. Too expesive for item that's not real. And you know the people who get the sets are not going to trade them for anything.

I think this viewpoint is not the one Disney is taking. Yes, I would like the cards too but Disney is simply promoting their creation, VMK. They are trying to get more people to play not reward the people who already play. The money you are spending is for the resort and experience not the cards. I shudder to think how many people are going to stay just to get the cards. I enjoy staying about once a quarter at various resorts and can't wait until I get a little something extra for my loyalty to the Disney resorts. Personally, the cards are a bonus and that is how Disney thinks of it.

It also gives new players a chance to have something rare that us older players don't have.

As for older people not having a clue or caring, chances are they have grandkids, nephews, nieces, family friends, etc. who they would give the cards to. :D

I have to agree the policy is really inflexible compared to WDW I had to make 3 changes to my WDW trip last year, and the year before. If I had been charged, it would have been so costly. I think the policy stinks, irregardess of the cards. People with kids need some flexibility, plus for what a DLR room costs, it is almost an insult to the guests. A fee with less than 30 or even 45 days is fair, but at over 6 months out...no WAY! I acually sent an email complaining to DLR about the policy being unreasonable...I am sure they will so care!

As for the cards, well I sometimes wonder if Disney really understands the frenzy of some VMK players.I don't doubt some people will pay the $100 for the cards. I think they really need to offer this both coasts. There is no reason why they shouldn't, DLR is hardly hurting for attendance, last weekend was a ZOO! I also wonder how many cards/codes will go to waste to those who don't know about VMK...OH THE HUMANITY!!!

Thanks for the reassurance that I am not blind Mouse, my day is alwys brighter when you pop by!

ITA! I spent 8 nights at Port Orlean Riverside last Sept for far less per night than the Disneyland Hotel. It is really difficult for me to imagine paying twice that for a hotel not as submersive in the Disney Experience. No matter how nice the DLR resort Hotels are, Anahiem is right there. For roughly twice what 2 nights cost me at DLR for 2 people, I got 8 nights with dining for 3 people at a WDW moderate..of course it WAS hurricane season.

AP's may want to look into packages if they can put the admission media price towards AP renewals (if you can still do that).

The promotion needs some work.

Ok I just got off the phone with a reservation specialist with the Disney Travel Company. You must book at least a two night stay at the hotels or the good neighbor hotels . you must book a package with tickets or call the help line and give them your annual passholder ticket number info but everything must be started online . That is how to fully get the tickets

Alright. As a card collector, this deal really bites. I live 15 minutes from Disneyland, and I'm not about to shell out large amounts of cash for a "free" set of cards. I can see these cards going for a small fortune on Ebay. Totally against VMK policy, as well.

I called today (when I received my "Stitchless" hotel confirmation in the mail) and I was told that you get the VMK cards in your vacation package which comes in the mail 21 days before your arrival. He told me this was so that people didn't make reservations (just for the cards) then cancel them. I even made my first deposit and still I have to wait. Being that my reservation is not until September...it looks as if I am going to have a "Stitchless" summer...sigh...

Excuse me??
Still didn't someone tell you otherwise?
TigS Yeah, the first guy I talked to when I originally made the reservation said I would get the cards with my confirmation letter...which is not the case. To his defense he said they just had the staff meeting about the VMK virtual rewards that very same day. The whole concept was totally foreign to him. Oh well, wait I must. :)

Do u have to buy anything?Or can u cancel the whole thing after ur done?

LadieFaye
03-19-2006, 06:43 AM
By the time they give you the codes canceling will cost 1/2 of the cost you paid or MORE so I don't advise this. You'll loose $1,000 or more, just for a code. I'm not sure about this, but my friend who's friend with a cast member said they are thinking of changing it to you pick it up at the front desk. So many want to try and cancel after they get the codes, this will result in Disneyland loosing LOTS of money from people who actually want to see the magic and not try to get some code. When you book just for a code you secure a hotel room and if everyone did that and canceled, thosands upon thousands of people would not be able to get in Disneyland. I'm not sure about you but I will stick with booking to actually go, saving kids from heartbreaks.

LadieFaye

You have to click the link that will have a pop up screen. When you enter the days you want to go and the people going click ok, select the hotel and under special offers by the side of the picture of the hotel it will say "VMK Virtual Reward", or "Virtual Reward".

NEW bookings are only eligible for this offer, online or via Travel agent who books online via Disney Travel site , bookings must be at least two night stay and include tickets. VMK card is sent in your final package once vacation package is paid in full . Package usually arrives 2-3 week prior to arrival date. Which would put you in the 30 day arrival date of your reservation Below is the cancellation / change fees on packages

LAND CANCELLATION/CHANGE FEES: A fee is assessed each time a change and/or cancellation is made. The cancellation/change fees are per reservation and are as follows:
Days prior to arrival …….....Change.........................Cancel

30+ ………………………$25.............................$100
29-5……………………....$50.............................$200
4-0………………............$75............................ 50% of package price
Failure to check in to the hotel on the scheduled arrival date or to utilize any portion of travel package without prior notice of cancellation or change is assessed fees equivalent to 100% of package price. Unused tour vouchers or other package components (including, but not limited to, admission tickets) are not exchangeable or refundable.
If appropriate insurance is purchased on or before final payment date, travel insurer may reimburse change /cancellation fees in accordance with terms of insurance policy. (Travel insurance is non-refundable once purchased.)

NOW thats a hefty cost to change or cancel your reservation for ONE virtual game card. Doesn't matter how many in party , one card per reservation.

Canceling now is $1,000 for me, if I wanted to cancel and book online in another room. I'm not getting the package either.

wait so even if it does go to WDW you still need to buy tickets and a hotel?!!

LadieFaye
03-28-2006, 04:51 PM
Minimum of 2 days in the hotel and you MUST get tickets with it. It would be the same if WDW did the same thing. There was talk there would be a different VMK package for WDW but I'm not sure now, if there is it will be some time.

I agree, I would never buy it in the disney parks so why vmk? (They have a hat EXACTLY like that in the stores).

Also, Green Flips Look Disgusting. I mean, inferno is kinda worthless, but it looks a little cute. I mean, who wants to dance in a ring of fire? If it was me, I'd dive out. Anyhow, on Vmk, we have free inferno without the fire...its Dancing! LOL. Anyhow, the narnia teleporters are quite cute but have the same use as pink doors and gold doors! I traded them yesterday for ALOT of rares, but some people are giving STITCH HAT for them, and I did not want to walk around with a hat on my head that looks like they cut Poor Ol' Stitches face in half. ;) So dont worry if you cant get to DLR because it costs infinity...Stitch Hats Stink Anyway!

04-03-2006, 10:24 AM
I think that they should give you the card if you buy the real hat like this just like they do with the golden ears!

StrawxBerrys
04-03-2006, 10:31 AM
Thats very true. But then I still wont be able to get it, unless my Aunt decides to go to WDW or DLR. Also I think Stitch Hats will be the next Inferno...I mean now people are booking trips and wasting $1000 or about £960 pounds in UK pounds just to get the Stitch hat. Does Disney think that money grows on Pear Trees? They should do something more reasonable - I mean $1000 for a three little pixels? Dream on...Im going to complain about this, its actually making people keep booking, and cancelling.

04-03-2006, 06:09 PM
I think after Dec 2006 when they will stop giving the stitch packages out for booking, they should change them to when you buy the ugly hat in the park you can get the cards.

 I know what you mean. This may sound a little odd but since we visit DL so much we have the VISA Disney card, we use the Visa card to buy grocieries, gas, clothes ect ect. and every 1%? I think it is builds up in a DISNEY savingings account. Just call when your going anywhere Disney and they will ship you your Disney Rewards VISA card with all your points saved up (I think we have around $1,000 now). You use it on meals, gifts, basically anything disney. Since we bought 2 Disney vacations totally over $10,000 for both your going to get a huge chunk of change to use .
