I am sad to say that if you haven't heard already, but I was told that you can't get the pirate quest items and more and that they will no longer do the vmk tours anymore. I am really upset because i love the ride quest and doing the vmk tour. I wish they could create new quest that involved the rides and new items. But a disney cast memember told me this when i just went to the Magic Kingdom a couple of days ago. So I guess my question is now, is what will the Magic Kingdom do next to VMK?

Are you sure you heard this from one of the workers at the VMK section at the park? Since this is about WDW I suppose DL isn't either.

that will be sad if they dont do anymore tours as werent they supposed to just bestarting some new tours soon? It would also be sad because how are they going to get more people to go to the parks? I really like the stuff they gave out for the tours they are so neat.

Hey Sorsha! As of January 1 of this year they have not been doing the tours is my understanding. You could still get the pirate quest but that was only as long as supplies lasted. When they were gone so were the pirate quest items. What I have heard, and yes this is what I have heard not told by Cast Members, is that Mansion quest will be coming back. Now, that being said, I am not sure how that will work since it was part of the tour of which they did away with. So, take that with a grain of salt.

Well I know they are not doing tours or the pirate quest because they are refurbishing it. They have to refurbish it for POTC 2. thats why, and I heard from somewhere that tours may come back soon!

sorry to say but not they are not giving out the pirate quest any more i know just i went to vmk and they didn't give me pirate quest and when i asked them they said they were not giving it out any more but instead the doubled up on some of the other quest items like two cactus chairs others stuff.

Doubleing up you say? That is good :) But it is still a bummer that there is no Pirate Quest. I wonder what the reason is for this action?

they stopped tours for what ever reason, but pirates is being REFURBISHED, so even if tours started up again pirate quest would not be part of it do to the refurbishing. Although I cant figure out why they are not giving out pirate quest for doing all the quests. I was at DLR a couple of weeks ago, I asked a cast memeber this:
Me: Is it possible to get those pirate quest cards or haunted mansion cards?
Cast member: No, those are what we call redtired
I asked three times each tiem there was a different cast member at the booth, lol.
At WDW after I took 1 of the last insider tours (yay me!)
I asked another question
Me: I heard from another person on VMK that they got the haunted mansion room from the insider tour, is this true?
Cast member: Yes, Before, but currently its what the Imagineers call "locked up"
locked up means no way to get it unless you already have it, unless they release haunted mansion quest again and start insider tours again, but they might not come back for a while, maybe its the same with pirate quest

for those who are confused as to why there is no more pirate quest, its a simple matter of business. Disney started off with the intention of discontinuing the quests and tours by the end of last year with hopes of starting new quests by this spring or summer at the latest. that way when the new quest starts people will come again which equals more money for disney. yay for vmk's commercialism

the only reason they were giving out the pirate quest without actually going on the tour is because 1)they produced a lot of cards in anticipation of a lot of people going on the tours 2)they ended the tour earlier thus leaving even more cards to distrubute 3)they knew that people would find out that they were giving out the tour cards for free instead having to go on the incredibly-hard-to-book tour. the same can be applied to the vmk tour

Sorsha this was back in December when i went. They were not doing the tour but I got pirate quest just for finishing the regular quests. They said they would give them out till their supply ran out which apparently is has now. So, yes it is gone for now.

The Pirate Stuff might come back you never know what plans vmk ahead! Even though people loved the pirate quest don't take your dreams away maybe somewere out there over the rainbow is those Pirate Cards and Pirate Quest waiting for you to get them! VMK Might just put it back in buisness so you people having your dreams don't doubt them yet! Because you never know what God has planned for us in this world and I want Pirate Quest Back I loved having my seagull and my fire windows and my well you know what Im talking bout! Im not doubting myself I loved pirate stuff so I have my dreams even if there is no pirate quest I still believe it will come back for us! What do you think maybe pirate ghost quest might come back to us and everyone in the VMK WORLD will be happy and have seagulls! and firewindows the little pirate sticks and stools! Or maybe they will even sell it and Tours Might Come back!

At DLR, the Haunted Mansion reopens March 16, the same day that Pirates closes for the addition of the Movie Characters.

The only way to get the HM quest cards at DLR, is by turning in an UNUSED VIP tour card.

Yeah they only stopped pirate quest cause the ride is going to close next month. They have to update it with Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain Barbnossa. The pirates ride in DL will open again in June and the one in WDW will open again July. Hope this helps.

I have been told WDW sent all their Pirate Quest cards back to DL, also the Adventureland has also been stopped in WDW.

Why can't they just have the cards in packs more like trading cards? More people would actually be able to get rare stuff and Disney would make a few bucks off it.

if they are doing something for the animal kingdom then it might be stoped at the "magic kingdoms" and mover to the animal knigdom and i saw a post with a river raped raft a while back so they just might move it to the AK

they might just give out the packts and just stop the tour

they also might stop the tour bc they might give a choice of what quest u want like haunted mansion or pirates or a new one so everyone can get all the quest. that also might be bc some ppl might be sad that when they did the change from the mansion to pirates ppl get there and find out that they just changed the quest and wanted the mansion so much more than pirates.
