The First thing you should know about vmk is the fact that not everyone who plays the game is a kid, and they might not be playing the game for fun. never give out any personal information, VMK staff has to keep saying that over and over. Also, not everyone in vmk is nice. Some people ignore you just because you have a certain name, most of the time this can happen with players with guest # names. If you keep your Guest # name, people might think you are still new to the game, and will keep ignoring you constantly. Always create your own name, just make sure it's nothing that might scare other players, and that it doesn't include your real name, address, phone number, zip code, yadda yadda yadda, you know. Don't create names like I_AM_CRAZY, because people might agree with that comment. Don't worry if you created an inappropriate name, vmk staff has to check the name before it becomes permanent. Another problem with not-so-nice people is the scams they create. It's just disgusting. Here is what you can say to a scammer, and this is true, because they just don't put in the effort: " Since your a scammer (you can't say scam or scammer, so be creative without doing a 'dictionary dance'), I don't think i should talk to you because you are too lazy". There. Just say that and it just might make them stop forever. it's true since they don't put in the effort for themselves. Another thing you should know is about the friends list. It works in a simple way, almost exactly like the one used in toontown. People can send you a friend request, which you can deny or agree with. DO NOT JUST CLICK YES without learning about them first. They might be a scammer looking for a person that is too nice to say no. If you are one of those people, FIGHT IT. There must be a way to fight it, it's online, not real life. Once you learn about them, you can decide for yourself wether or not you want to be his/her friend. Important: DO NOT ask them where they live or stuff like that, just like you don't want to tell other players. Asking is considered harrassing, and could get you banned for quite a while. Oh yes, i forgot to mention, you get banned for not following the rules. For the rules, check VMK values by going to the bottom of the homepage and clicking on it. Back to the friends list. If the person is someone you would admire, be their friend. Here is a little about how the friends list works: The friends list is able to be checked by clicking the icon at the bottom of the game screen that looks like an envelope. From there, you can send your friends messages and go to the same room they are in. That helps alot, because vmk is MASSIVE. It is growing everyday. How you ask? Guest rooms. You can create and own as many as you want to have, as long as they have appropriate names. Although there is an exception in how VMK staff handles it, some rooms have names that just, shouldn't be changed. Here is an example of what should have been ok, but VMK staff kicked everyone out of the room and told the owner that he/she needed to change it (yes they kick all the guests in your room if the name is bad): Forest Trades. If you are allowed to even say forest, why is it inappropriate? I can't think of any word that isn't in the dictionary that players might substitute for. This is a question i would like to have answered, everyone has questions. Anyway, Guest rooms are constantly being re-arranged, build, bought, and sold in vmk. Too many guest rooms at one time could make the game slow down, so spend a little time playing vmk mini-games or walking around. All rooms that can be bought are sold for 500 credits, you can buy rooms by doing this:
1. Click on the shop icon at the bottom of the game screen
2. wait until the items in the furniture section stop loading
3. Click on rooms on top of the screen that came up
4. look around, and when you know what you want, buy it
Don't worry if you made a mistake, ok take that back you can worry. Although you can sell your room, all items and rooms are sold for 1/5 the buy price. I don't know why it's so low, it might be to stop players from buying and selling for no reason. Since all rooms are bought for 500 credits, they are sold for 100 credits back. You can also buy furniture for your room, just go to shop, and choose the store you want to buy furniture from (note that when you start the game, the store "clothes" is the only choice. You can start to buy furniture by going to the different stores and clicking on a certain place (the arrow will change into a hand when it is at the right spot, make sure you're not clicking on an NPC though, i will get into NPC's later in this post) and waiting for the furniture to load. You can also buy pins and posters from each shop, each with a different theme). The different stores are those that follow:
1. on main street- emporium
2. in adventureland- Shrunken Ned's Shop
3. in Frontierland- Golden Horseshoe Mercitile
4. in Tomorrowland- Star Traders
5. in Fantasyland- it's a small world imports
Remember that they might add new shops later, this game keeps changing you know. I am not sure if they will, just keep in touch with the newsletter. Now this is an online game, and it's based on Walt Disney Land in California, some people think it's based on Walt Disney World in Florida, and are wondering why there is a place called matterhorn. 1 Exception would be Sci-Fi-Dine-In, that is in the MGM studios in Florida. Now the game keeps changing, so it's fun to make themes throughout vmk. VMK staff has thought of some pretty cool things, including Snowman Magic (Pardon my almost lame joke there) and the see-through christmas tree (there i go again). Note that they took the decarations down, who would be lazy enough to leave Christmas Decarations up in February, especially since it's a game? they also decorated it for halloween, but they took those down too. What will they think of next? That's your place to predict. Nobody knows. In Emporium, the sell special items with timed themes like christmas and halloween. They sold costumes recently for no apparent reason, just to make something that became rare a while ago. For a short time (or forever, nobody knows when this will end) VMK staff brought back blue colored furniture. They might bring some other favorites, and, as someone said in another thread, soon there may be no such thing as beta. Beta was a time period in which players could test vmk before it came out, they only knew about it through magazines, ads in disney parks, and what ever. They were able to get special things that aren't able to get now. Don't believe everything someone says about beta, they may be wrong. The item they may be holding could be a quest item. Quests, and heres how they start getting you into the disney fun, are A few questions about the parks you are visiting. They will ask you questions like "how many keys does the quard dog hold on PTOC?" and "how many bouts are there in Shrunken Ned's Sea?". You have to be at a park to get a reward. For more information on Quests, check the vmk homepage. Now let's get into credits. Credits make VMK go 'round. They are the money everyone uses in vmk. You can buy things with them. Get what i'm saying?
Anyway, to earn credits, visit vmk NPC's and play games. Here is where i get into the subject of NPC's. NPC's are Non-Playing-Characters that hand out credits daily. You can get 40 credits from each of them the first time, and 20 credits every other day. Here is a list of the Current NPC's (Note that i will add by posting)
1. Shrunken Ned- Found at Shrunken Ned's Shop
2. Captain Blackheart- found at Pirate Treehouse
3. The Dragon- Found in the Dungeon
4. The Yeti- found in Matterhorn
5. Esmeralda- Found in emporium
The following NPC's were added to the game last December:
1. Phineas- found in the haunted mansion stretching room
2. Ezra- found in the haunted mansion ballroom
3. Gus- Found in the attic
Visit them every day when you get a chance! Now let's get into the subject of mini games. Here is a list of the current mini-games (note that i will add by posting when needed) :
1. Music Game
2. Castle Fireworks game
3. Jungle Cruise game
4. Haunted Mansion Ghost Chasers game
5. Pirates of the Carribian game
6. Airlock Escape
7. Hyperspace Mountain
8. Blast in space
The last three games on this list, 6, 7, and 8, are not found on the map, but in fact in the arcade. You can get to the arcade by going to the Tomorrowland Hub in Tomorrowland. You can find out how to play the games by looking at their instructions. If You have anything to add on this section, please post.
