View Full Version : HOST Game Too Long? Bilbo 02-03-2006, 01:31 AM When I tried to get in line for the HOST game (Don't Break The Ice) it said the line was too long for me to join! I've seen long lines but not that long! JustOh 02-03-2006, 01:32 AM plz use search, there is now a 50 person limit into rooms. Bilbo 02-03-2006, 01:37 AM That's not what I'm talking about. The line for the room is too long to let me join it? Look at this picture: gilligantrips 02-03-2006, 01:39 AM They turned that on, and the longest the line can be is 50 people. You cant join, because there are already 50 in line. :D Bilbo 02-03-2006, 01:40 AM Why would they do that? That's kinda dumb. SleepyPiglet 02-03-2006, 01:41 AM So people have a smaller chance of getting disconnected :D xKawaii 02-03-2006, 01:44 AM >__< I thought I crashed, and now I exited and can't get back in...meeeeh. But yeah, the new message is good, I guess. Bilbo 02-03-2006, 01:46 AM I know it's good so you don't crash but lots of people want to get in, don't you think they should have two games going at once? hauntedguy 02-03-2006, 01:48 AM Bilbo your right they should have more that one room >_< JeanPierre 02-03-2006, 01:52 AM Why would they do that? That's kinda dumb. Could not have said it better myself! Don't understand the reasoning behind this decision. It will be more difficult to get the rare pins the staff offers, for instance the Grand Hotel pin as well as the new Yeti Paw Print pin. It seems that if you don't catch the opportuinity when the room first opens you are pretty much out of luck. Ah, VMK making things so much fun for us, Not! Bilbo 02-03-2006, 02:28 AM I really think they should have one two or maybe three of the same game open. cratle 02-03-2006, 02:33 AM well then who would do the other three or two rooms when all the HOSTs are busy online hosting games, i mean it would be fair for 50 people in line bc you never know when you'll crash or disconnect :) Bilbo 02-03-2006, 02:35 AM Nobody ever knows if they are going to disconnect. Chocomoose 02-03-2006, 02:38 AM Actually you can get in even with the 50 limit. You have to stay on the guest room list and click enter periodically. Bilbo 02-03-2006, 02:40 AM Anyway, this is kinda off topic but the line for Ask a HOST isn't very long:D cratle 02-03-2006, 02:43 AM haha ya got dat right, but you should stay on topic Ali-Rae 02-03-2006, 02:43 AM This has a good thing, and of course a bad thing. Here's the bad thing: When people see the staff game finally appear, they click it and they JUST miss the cut off, then someone gets dc in the loading part, someone behind then gets in that happens to click enter room at the right time. Here's the good thing: VMK automatically disconnects you when you are inactive for almost 5 minutes. When your waiting in line it won't be more than 5 minutes now (hopefully!) MsBehave 02-03-2006, 02:49 AM Tell you the truth, the new rule of only 50 people in line has made a huge difference. Now the problem is losing connection, AND getting in line for the first place! For example, I was trying to get in line, but I kept getting the "Line too long" message. We now have to compete against 100 other people to get in. In the Everest Tune Game, I did not even have to type two words. The people around me disconnected, and that made me win. -CL_MsBehave Bilbo 02-03-2006, 02:54 AM See I like the idea but then people will get mad cause they can't get it! That's all I'm saying but I like it you don't lose connection as much:D Chaelle 02-03-2006, 03:11 AM Well this sure beats 'You are in a queve behind 570 people.' :D ~Chaelle Roxane 02-03-2006, 10:48 AM I think they still need to get rid of the timed disconnects. MamaJo 02-03-2006, 11:11 AM I'll disagree with the fact that people are not disconnectiing more. You spend all your time trying to get into the Host games and then when you finally do, you are in a queue of 50 people. Next, is trying to get into the queue in the room. I played Host_Phinny's games last night--I think it was don't break the ice--the way the queue line was made it was very difficult to get into the room behind other people and everyone kept clicking to try to enter the room. I saw people disconnecting right and left. So, I think the disconnecting problem is still very big. And the wait time is still the same. Even though I was in the queue of 50 people, I still waited approximately 45 minutes to get into the room (not the game but just the room). And, you guessed it, I got disconnected. So the problem still exists. I think it was better the old way to just wait in a queue of around 100 people. prisoner 02-03-2006, 11:34 AM This has been discussed quite extensively, including pros cons and problems with it, over here in this thread (http://www.vmkforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39348) the way the queue line was made it was very difficult to get into the room behind other people Gee... I've been complaining about this for months to the staff. I've offered to help them fix their queue. Sorry to hear they still aren't listening. FantasyBlueBoy 02-03-2006, 12:23 PM The Key words are: Calander and Timing purplehusky 02-04-2006, 03:05 AM it is very anoying when i see this SoccerKaitlyn 02-04-2006, 03:11 AM Well.. It is awesome that VMK has listened to people about the crashing problems. But that means that staff don't want people wasting valuable VMK playing time to waiting in 238 player long lines. ~Sincerely, SoccerKaitlyn Chocomoose 02-04-2006, 03:13 AM For me, like everyone else, I take about 10- 15 minutes to get into the queue then I wait around half an hour to get into the room. But twice now I've been disconnected in the queue. I'm not really seeing the upside to a 50 person queue, except for what SoccerKaitlyn said. RikuBlade 02-04-2006, 03:53 AM Well this sure beats 'You are in a queve behind 570 people.' :D ~Chaelle Right and wrong. Right because yes theres a way less wait. Wrong because, well really chances of even getting in line are slim to none. You have major competition. Spongebobdave 02-04-2006, 04:14 AM Yes It took me a few tries to get in line much like creating a level 3 pirates game. I think is that pros and cons pros Less chance of disconnecting cons Part of the game is also getting in line lol |
