View Full Version : Have you ever watched the documentary Super-Size Me?
Appleson 02-02-2006, 02:39 AM i was wondering if anyone here has ever watched the documentary Super-Size Me. although i don't recommend it for those who aren't teens yet, it was still a great movie to watch. i just watched it today and it may have changed my life. it now really makes me think about what i eat and if it truly is a smart choice. i used to go eat fast food 2-3 times a week. now, i think i should go once a year! no jk. but i'm pretty sure i won't be heading for mcdonalds for a while. if i could rate it on a scale of 1-10, i'd give it a 100! anyway, i was just wondering if you watched it and if so, what were your thoughts on it?
Mr.Lunatix 02-02-2006, 02:40 AM Super-Size me was a great movie. Some of it made me never want to eat Fast food again, but honestly who can give that up? LoL
ahadinosaur 02-02-2006, 02:45 AM We watched that in health class my freshmen year of high school. It was excellently made, but absolutely disgusting. Scary what that stuff can do to you...
spot41414 02-02-2006, 02:51 AM I watched part of it, but i turned it off my little sister was ******** out and wouldn't leave the room, lol.
Panda buddy 02-02-2006, 05:08 AM yea i watched part of it but it was like midnite when it started so i didn't get to finish it
Appleson 02-02-2006, 05:25 AM yeah, that was definatlely a very scary movie. unfortunately today, (and if you can recall, i just watched the movie today) i was meeting up with my friends earlier today and guess what they were eating. if you guessed mcdonalds, then you're absolutely right! the horror!
i saw that movie once.. after that i didnt go to mcdolalds for a loooooooong time! lol
Panda buddy 02-02-2006, 02:30 PM i don't go to mcdonalds alot anyway, only when i want some apple pies :) i luv those apple pies
SweepHunter 02-03-2006, 07:27 AM I am allergic to soy, egg, gluten, dairy and chocolate to some extent. I can only have sodas, ice cream syrup and salt at McDonalds. Their food as so many added things that it is impossible for me to eat their fries with out intense pain or eat their salads which have soy dressings.
Scary but true as I was raised with fast food. I lost 30 pounds and am now trying to stick to my diet with no allergens and find i feel a lot better without most fast food. In and Out has great burgers that do not make me sick and I stop there.
Scary to think of the calories in the food and the other bad stuff in the food.
mizbee 02-03-2006, 07:44 AM it's coming up on my netflix list, i had a feeling it was something i should probably see when i was browsing and came across it. i have a feeling it's going to change a lot about how we handle those busy nights when we don't have time to cook!!
Smoop 02-03-2006, 08:34 AM Actually, I think this movie SHOULD be shown to kids and teens. The purpose of the movie is to show everyone that there IS an epidemic of obesity in our society. In this day and age, we are living in a computer/video game generation (you are using a computer to read these, are you not?). Technology not only has taken away our ability to get up and get some excercise, but it also has made food more easy to get and obtain. Think about it. It's SOO easy to go get a burger through a drive thru than to make a sandwich. And it's that same menality that has cut the healthy foods out of our diet and replaced it wit processed goods (do you ever wonder how much chicken a chicken mcnugget REALLY has??). Super size Me is a real eye opener. I truly recommend it.
AGMartin2 02-03-2006, 10:15 AM Its so funny! Although most Brittish people have seen it, I truly reccommend it it to you Americans too! Its not only funny, but it has some so many great and disturbing facts with it. This movie/documentary completely put me off McDonalds, I havn't eaten McDonalds for a year!

i do agree that some parts of the movie should be shown to kids. the only reason why i don't recommend it for those who aren't really teens yet is that the movie has some bad words that aren't censored and there are some pretty graphic images in various parts of the movie. if a kid's version was made, then this would be the absolute perfect documentary.
