Is it true that gold door were only given out at DL and only for people who rode the ride in jan? So they are no logner giving them out?

To my understanding. yes they were only giving out DCA and only if you ride on Monster Inc.. they are only giving out the cards till they run out.

They are passing the cards out to everyone riding DCA's Monsters Inc ride.
They said that they believe they will last about 3 weeks.
That was a week ago.

From my understanding, a very VERY limited supply of gold door cards were ordered. They are only being handed out for a week only (or until they run out). When I went this past weekend, cast were passing them out to the people in line. The bad news about this was that a lot of people where throwing them in the trash can because they didn't know what they were. If you manage to get to DCA and get some gold doors, wonderful!! If not, I would try to trade for them because they are going to be hard to find later on.

From my understanding my friend went and the long was soooooooo long in the old millionaire buildung que and around Hollywood Back lot and they ran out of cards so they could have run out of cards for that day or the whole thing but it sounds werid of them passing them out to everyone they should only by people asking (Sugesting: Go look in trash cans around the ride LOL)

this may sound crazy,but if u are in despeate need,take some or ask for the cards in the trash can(that ppl thown away) codes might work lol

I was there today and yes, they were still giving them out, but you have to ask the cast member at the entrance if they are giving any out. They are not handing them out freely to everyone (like Halloween candy) that passes by the entrance like they did when they first came out.

looks like i'll be dumpster diving for cards the next time i go. lol! but seriously, the cast members should have only passed out the cards to those who ask for it. that way, the people who have no idea what vmk is won't waste the cards and more will be available

And you are right, people are throwing them away. They are all over the ground, and inside of the ride.

The exit may be a better place to have them out.

They empty the trash cans frequently there unfortunately. I've tried a couple times to retrieve cards the people threw away but unless you got long arms, or if you're lucky enough that the can is full, it's very hard to get them once they're at the bottom. Lol. :P

Yes, I just got back from Disneyland tonight also. They seem to be handing them out to ONLY people that ask one shift and giving them to everyone that enters the next shift. If they give them out to everyone...it seems more end up in the garbage cans and you can "dumpster dive" and get about 20 or so cards. GOOD LUCK..I didn't ask about the length of time they would be handing out cards or how many they ordered (to hand out for the grand opening).

Getting Gold door teleporter cards ain't worth it to me to dig through Disneyland trash cans.

These kids in line yesterday, were asking people in line, for extra cards.

They were polite, and stood right in front of the garbage can. They were asking, " Can I have that card, if you dont need it." They were getting rich!
They were only asking people that were aiming for the can.

I got an extra, because a family behind me didnt want theirs. My daughter has allready claimed it, sorry.

Although some people ARE throwing the codes away, it IS promoting VMK to people who never heard about it. And I think that is the main purpose of handing out gold teleporter doors.

Getting the uninitiated onto VMK is the secondary goal, but only because it supports the primary goal: get park guests on VMK, and VMK will hopefully get them to want to go back to the park. QED.
