I think they should build a disney world in the north east because the weather is nicer and during the fall and spring it's not extremly hot.
What do u think?

View Full Version : Should they builg a Disney World in the North East? What do u think? bluedudeman 01-28-2006, 08:38 PM yes that would be so cool maybe like in new york jamielan 01-28-2006, 09:42 PM they should build one in canada somewhere ... PrincessWall 01-28-2006, 09:45 PM Rofl, I think they should build one in Michigan *Check my location* hehe. But I seriously think that two is enough, because it kind of looks bad if theres a bunch of parks everywhere. Its better that it could be a special treat, instead of a daily activity. Brentino 01-28-2006, 09:46 PM They should build one near where I live. I like 45min from Canada, all there is, is apple trees and its very boring. New york needs some excitement. lol jamielan 01-28-2006, 09:55 PM Rofl, I think they should build one in Michigan *Check my location* hehe. What do u think? in the north east? doesnt it snow there? like in new york, like you guys are suggesting? i think that disney tries to have their theme parks be vacation destinations - and be the only (or even main) reason why one would travel to a theme park. if they placed one in new york, everything else that people go to new york for would compete with disney. disney doesnt like competition. therefore, the likelyhood of that would not happen. jamielan 01-28-2006, 10:03 PM ummmm yea there IS ONE IN PARIS japan china hing kong umm i think she was talking about in america. Arysa 01-28-2006, 10:05 PM I think New York should not be the place. New York has already many attractions like Statue of Liberty, Empire State Bulding, Times Square, and much more. If they built Disney World in New York total chaos. ~CL_Arysa Brentino 01-28-2006, 10:05 PM Why now near buffalo? Its in NY and close to Chicago. Now NYC. Anywhere else in NY. NY is a vst wasteland of field and apple trees. All excpet NYC. lol Annientink 01-28-2006, 10:06 PM Well, they could make a ski resort in the winter for NY, and regular in the summer. They would get a lot of people, including me xD. I would be thrilled if they made one in NY! Chocomoose 01-28-2006, 10:13 PM The reason all the Disney theme parks are in the south are because of warm weather. They can keep the theme park up all year and it will hardly ever be cold. Although I do agree with you. A Disney theme park in New York would be nice. MissAmber 01-28-2006, 10:16 PM You don't even have a CLUE about how much I agree. A disney in the Northeastern part of the US.. would be so awesome. We would go there every weekend during the summer I bet. Wow.. sometimes I wonder why they have not built one northeastern yet.. RockStar 01-28-2006, 10:20 PM I think the should Bulid one by Houston TX because even right now are weather is in the 80's!! Oranges 01-28-2006, 11:10 PM I think they should build one in my backyard lol. Anyway, I don't think there will be another Disney park in the states for a hefty amount of time now, and it especially will not be in New York City, considering the 9/11 attacks, enough said. I am happy with the Disney World I have here, so I don't need a substitute lol. There is a RUMOR that there could be a Disneyland in New Jersey, but once again, this is a rumor. Wildcat 01-28-2006, 11:25 PM I dont think so. See, so far all the Disney Worlds and Disneylands are in warm weather so that people can go all year long. That's why they make it in a warmer spot so that in the winter, people that avoid the cold in the North can go to a Disney World/ Land. That way Disney makes more money and attracts more customers. - Wildcat BestDarren 01-28-2006, 11:29 PM its a good idea form where i live i really cant go so like maryland in US LittleBubbles 01-28-2006, 11:33 PM The weather would cause way too many issues if it were in the Northeast. I think they are focusing on getting Disney parks all over the world before placing more in the states :P Perhaps a winter-y Disney resort in like Maryland. I could see that; you know, skiing, sledding, and some ice skating rinks. That would be cool :P Pebble 01-28-2006, 11:36 PM Wootles! it's twelve degrees and snowing, let's go find an open ride! LOL... Maybe a Mini-Disney, only open from spring-fall. Coolchewbaca 01-28-2006, 11:38 PM we need one in the west Chocomoose 01-28-2006, 11:39 PM we need one in the west Isn't there a Disneyland in California? BestDarren 01-28-2006, 11:42 PM like i said well i live in P.A so u need to take plane 5 hour wait but..u will have to drag my mom on a plane she very scared of high areas so like maryland ,jersey P.A lol twasbrilig 01-28-2006, 11:42 PM Just wanted to add in here that it does get cold and does snow sometimes in Paris, where Disneyland Paris is located. It's not completely impossible to have a park operate farther north than the current two in the US. Coolchewbaca 01-28-2006, 11:48 PM Isn't there a Disneyland in California? oh yeah, good point lol Retri 01-29-2006, 12:06 AM I think the reason they dont have one north east is because of the cold weather in winter. InfernoWanter 01-29-2006, 12:23 AM yea that would be graet bc i live in that area but where in that area??:CastMem: i mean really, nowhere on long island is there room, upstate is very mountainous, by lake eerie and stuff is mostly water and farming.:CastMem: swimmingemma49 01-29-2006, 12:32 AM Disney is very popular, and people would want it to be open year-round even if it was snowing. But it would be more expensive to maintain if there was snow... think of the plowing. :). I'm not saying it couldn't be done, because it could, but it isn't likely to happen anytime soon. Tallulauh 01-29-2006, 01:07 AM I live in the North East and, trust me, people would NOT want to come to a Disneyworld if it was here..... 1. Because it snows LIKE CRAZY! 2. Half of the fun of Disney is going there in like January and it being all nice and sunny. 3. Could you imagine waiting in line WHILE IT'S SNOWING?? Those of you in the west have no idea as to how uncomfortably cold it gets here. we're talking down in the single digits! NOT FUN! 4. You can't build places like Disneyworld in the North East becuase it's WAY to mountinous. There is no way you could avoid all the hills. Just sharing my opinion, ~Tallulauh prisoner 01-29-2006, 02:05 AM In the middle of all this, I'm amazed that people didn't try to mention two things about Disney more north-east than Floriday. (some more mid-Atlantic... but...) Disney's America An ill-fated project that Disney tried to create outside Washington DC in Virginia. The idea... well... there were many ideas. But it was supposed to mostly focus on history. The local community forced Disney to back out of the idea. Times Square / World of Disney Did you know the only store outside of Orlando and Anaheim that sells Disney stuff that is owned by Disney is in NYC? The World of Disney store is run by the Parks and Resorts division, in fact! So really, there is a Disney park in New York City already... sorta... they even do character meet-and-greets! But most people think the store is in Times Square - when it really is on 5th Avenue. A small hike, but not a bad one unless you do it many times in a day. In Times Square, however, Disney does run (currently) two musicals. One of them is in a theater that they own (The New Amsterdam). When Disney first announced they were going to rennovate the theater, and partnered with NYC to help revitalize Times Square, a lot of people called it the Disneyfication of Times Square. Poseidon 01-29-2006, 10:34 PM There's been talks of a Ski Resort in NY, but it's just a rumor. It's probably not going to happen. If it snows, people won't want to go on the outside rides. AshaDancerr 01-29-2006, 11:16 PM There's been talks of a Ski Resort in NY, but it's just a rumor. It's probably not going to happen. If it snows, people won't want to go on the outside rides. It's not a bad idea though. It is different from what Disney has now. I wouldn't mind it. kidkid9393 01-29-2006, 11:36 PM in the north east? doesnt it snow there? like in new york, like you guys are suggesting? i think that disney tries to have their theme parks be vacation destinations - and be the only (or even main) reason why one would travel to a theme park. if they placed one in new york, everything else that people go to new york for would compete with disney. disney doesnt like competition. therefore, the likelyhood of that would not happen. I Personally thinkk it wold be wonderful if disney had a park in an area it did snow cuz the when they have x-mas perades and they have bubble snow in sted if its really snowing then they have more visitors at least thats wut i say jamielan 01-30-2006, 12:03 AM guys, newyork is like a 2 days drive from florida. They wouldnt put the disney parks TO close together. prisoner 01-30-2006, 12:40 AM This talk of a ski resort is interesting - mostly because the Mineral King Ski Resort was one of the last projects Walt worked on before his death, and which the Disney company tried to get to work for over a decade before everyone finally gave up on the project. guys, newyork is like a 2 days drive from florida. They wouldnt put the disney parks TO close together. Acording to google, you can drive from WDW to DL in 2 days. :) And remember - they were actively planning a Disney park in Virginia. jamielan 01-30-2006, 02:51 AM Acording to google, you can drive from WDW to DL in 2 days. :) And remember - they were actively planning a Disney park in Virginia. ohh, you learn something new everyday :) jdrocks 01-30-2006, 05:20 AM There was a rumor going on about them breaking down coney island in New York to make a disneyland there but it wasnt true......at least i think lol. Caterpillar AEIOU 01-30-2006, 05:26 AM Disney TRIED to build a theme park in Mannassas Virginia, and the people there freaked out, and it got cancelled. They did look at property in Kilene Texas (spelling?) and Toms River New Jersey. They were looking at destinations for the DIsney Vacation Club, though not for theme park locations. I dont know if they still have those plans. It was in a stock holders letter a while back. Lisa jdrocks 01-30-2006, 05:43 AM I think they should make a "Disney Land Ireland" lol. |
