Hi this is my Game show room.

I ask questions all related to Every Haunted Mansion as well as the film.
Three contestants compete for cool prizes by clicking on the candle in front of them, (Basically blow out the skull candle first), The one who does, Gets to answer the question first.

We play untill someone answer three correctly, Then they are declaired the winner. Everyone who plays my game receives a parting gift even if they dont win!!

Attraction Name: Submarine Races

Story:

Captain Nemo and his crew have been stealing treasure for many years now. Three governments have determined that the Nautilus did survive its suposed demise, and have located the ship. Each government wants to get the treasure he holds.

You and two others are being sent into the Nautilus. You start on Lincoln Island, where you will be smuggled aboard in coffins. Once there, you will get the treasure from three different collections, and then escape in a life boat back to Lincoln Island.

The winner, sitting in the Golden Chair, gets part of the treasure.

Technical Notes:

I wish I could put this story on the room, but the dictionary blocks a lot of it.

The story was originally supposed to be that you take a boat to the Nautilus, and then escape by being smuggled out in a coffin, but testing indicated that there was a distinct advantage to getting into the boat first, and many people had trouble with the boat, so I added some more coffins and reversed them.

The coffin to the viewing area is because some people just want to watch, and their presence on the playing field was confusing things. This is also why there are extra turnstiles - to try and limit access. I wish I had a good way to limit access to the coffins, but most players seem to be ok with it.

There is a second line of instructions that will go away as soon as they fix that annoying bug - they are from previous versions and attempts.

The queue has three lines so I don't have to deal with booting a player who isn't moving or who didn't read the directions while I'm trying to load the game. I can just close that turnstile, let in someone else, and then deal with them while the race is running. I could load even faster if I had a way to block the coffins while the race was being run.

I just rearranged one of my rooms. It's called Evil Eeyore because you can't use Gothic, Medieval, Renaissance or any of the million other words I tried. But evil is ok. :rolleyes:

I fear I may have been a bit too trigger happy. When ppl came in and started talking the boot came out immediately. I then realized that this might not be the best policy, so I have decided I will boot after 2 or more comments are made. If the person merely says "hi" and then nothing else, they may remain: I will take it they have read the room rules at that point.

I have not made this room to be an ogre or anything: it's just I frequently go afk for small periods of time on the game, and when I return I find I am in the middle of a party and I have been ignoring ppl left and right and they are all hurt that I did not respond (at least I fear this happens). So, this room is my quiet place, and yours if you need it. It will be connected later to the VMK Fan Site Teleporter Network via my rooms which are linked up to the "VMK Fan Site Central - Purple" room.

I can't believe how creative you guys are!

It does remind me that I wanted to mention the thought process that went into this room. I've always said that you should come up with a story, and then use the room to help tell that story - in this case, I was a bit literal with my own suggestion.

I had originally planned on not entering at all. I was going to go somewhere and repeat my performance art of doing a speech - this time the dedication speech that Walt Disney used on opening day.

Instead, I realized that it would make a reasonable room if I took pictures from around VMK of images that matched the speech and then tried to focus the attention on them. The pictures weren't too hard to find good images for - the big problem was mangling the words so they were in the dictionary.

I had a spare room, so I fashioned it like an art gallery with a rope divider and some seats for tired art observers. I was originally going to call it Celebration, Florida, Art Gallery after the town in Florida that Disney designed, but it didn't like the word Florida and I realized it might detract from the California park it was highlighting. Cap it off with a short welcoming speech of my own, and I was pleased with the results of my storytelling.

...And finally my Celebration room. I remember the Magic Kingdom Cake and so was inspired by that idea to create a giant cake. I wanted to take this opportunity to post pictures of my Pin Room Contest entry, and to encourage others (winners and non-winners) to post their pictures and stories as well!

For starters, I have to admit to a little bit of a cheat on this. I recycled my previous very unsuccessfull entry from the Celebration contest (http://www.vmkforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=31557&highlight=celebration#post31557) with only a couple of changes. But I thought for sure this had a good chance - lots of room to trade, and the decoration was both Hong Kong and pin themed!

In the room itself, I added a paper lantern and a Hong Kong poster to compliment the Disneyland poster, and another picture that talked about Hong Kong and pins:

how do you take a screen shot

This is one of my rooms in my theme museum. I'm trying to recreate Porco Rosso's beach home from my favorite Miyazaki film. The teleporter and red chairs are suppose to look like a side view of his airplane with the canoes as the wing.

To get to this and my other rooms. Head to VMK fan site central Red and its the third coffin from the left. Right near the VMK Castle train.

Thanks to everyone who helped "demonstrate" my Haunted Mansion room. It took a while to get organized, but you all played your ghostly parts well! I appreciate the time out you all took to do this. :)
