View Full Version : Maybe New Villians Land in Walt Disney World in 2010!!
Coolbessy 01-22-2006, 06:38 AM OK
so i was at disney world during my christmas break and i was talking to a cast member and i started talking about if there were going to be new parks. And the cast member said that the villians in the movies don't have barely any rides and should have some. I agreed. The cast member said in about 2010-2015 that would be the opening if they are to forgo to this plan. I think it would pretty cool due to the fact there would have to be some scary rides!! Dont cha think?
Happy Early Valentine's Day!
Keeping us ppl up to date.

Middiebear 01-22-2006, 07:58 AM I'm all for this idea... and it's a long rumor that has been around on many Disney fansites...
Some say: The new road that Disney is building to link Walt Disney World up with the Orlando Int. Airport is just a cover up to make way for a road that will really lead to Walt Disney World's 5th gate...
I think that if Walt Disney World really does build a 5th park... the park should be much different than the rest of the existing four Walt Disney World parks...
I like the villians idea because it can be more of a park filled with thrill rides and roller coasters...
But will Disney really build a park just to appease their teenage fans?
Especially when Disney prides itself on being fun for the ENTIRE family?
People argue that a park based solely on the villians will turnoff little kids and keep families away because of that... And I have to agree... My little brother, who's 6, can't even go on the Peter Pan ride because he's too afraid of Captain Hook...
If you meant Disney would just add an entire new land, to Disney-MGM Studios, or the Magic Kingdom... and all the rides were based on the Disney villians... then that could work, but an entire new park... I don't think so...
I think Walt Disney World should focus more on building more rides and attractions on their existing four parks, before building another...

I can almost garuntee they will never have just a scary ride. They want it to be a fun atmosphere for EVERYONE. They don't like leaving people out. Some rides don't allow little kids because it is dangerous for them not because it is scary.
I have also read news articles online and have discovered the building in 2010 is just a rumor. There will be no building in Beijing.
mizbee 01-22-2006, 08:24 AM One of the problems Disney has had is over developing and not focusing on getting guests to the parks. They'll need to fill up the resorts and parks they do have in WDW before they can even think about let alone afford to build a 5th major park. An all thrill ride park would bring in thrill seekers but they're a small (and rather broke) portion of the market. They would never get the amount of people through those doors as they do the other four parks. While I personally would love it, I'm not holding my breath.
AGMartin2 01-22-2006, 08:54 AM This rumour has been around ever since 20k leagues under the sea closed down. Ancient news! Still no plans yet though!

Who is to say that only teenagers ride rollercoasters?! I am an adult with kids of my own and I love to ride rollercoasters. If you have a pass where you can parkhop, then you could do some of small kid stuff and some of big kid stuff. I think that its a splendid idea to do something like that. I think WDW would get a big draw from it.
Oranges 01-22-2006, 12:46 PM This is a rumor. There will be no new park between the years 2010-2015. How could you even think that they could complete a roller coaster/thrill ride park in 3-9 years. I mean, it took 3 years to build Expedition Everest, ONE roller coaster. How do you expect them to build multiple in the same amount of time.
Here is what really happened. The plan for a new Walt Disney World theme park was in the works, and Imagineers were drawing up blueprints so they could soon get started. Then, September 11th occured, and all their plans to do so were halted.
Disney is questioning whether or not they should continue with their plans, and they most likely will not. If they are going to create a new park, it won't be until about 2020-2030.
AGMartin2 01-22-2006, 12:49 PM And besides, Disney is a family park. They wouldn't make a completely different park unsuitable for younger childre! I mean, would u go to a park with Jafar screaming in ur ear all day? I think not.
crushandgush 01-22-2006, 12:51 PM here so more rumers where is the brick road from WDWR to DLR? where is the monorail from oia to WDW. monorail from port canaveral to oia then WDW all rumers any more that i missed?
AGMartin2 01-22-2006, 12:52 PM BTW, a villain land was meant to be in place of 20K leagues under the sea with a villain log flume or fire mountain. There was going to be a dark alley from fantasyland with lots of villain themd shops e.t.c leading u to VILLAINS MOUNTAIN (the logflume)!
JeannieV 01-22-2006, 12:54 PM As for a thrill seekers park...any one heard of Islands Of Adventure?? That is getting crowds everyday, and is now taking many guest away from Disney because people want to go to that park with "all the rides".
I think it would be a smart idea and as Minniemagic said, with the park hopper pass, then it is still family friendly. Plus, they could just add activities and Babysitters like they have on the cruiselines. Then everyone can have fun!
Sdude 01-22-2006, 01:06 PM This rumour has been around ever since 20k leagues under the sea closed down. Ancient news! Still no plans yet though!
well right now there is Pooh's Playful Spot there where the 20k ride was but i think they are taking it down ill check later(im going to disney in 20 minutes :))

Oranges 01-22-2006, 01:08 PM Well, I got my information from numerous sources. I was able to ride in front of the monorail, and the driver brought up that subject and said the plan was suspended. My dad is also friends with an Imagineer who also said what I posted.
And some it was common sense. IF a new park was to open in 2010, I will be amazed. They want to create an entire new park in four years? I mean it took 3 years just to create Expedition Everest and they hope to build multiple roller coaster/thrill rides in the same amount of time? Is that even possible?
Sdude 01-22-2006, 01:11 PM i heard there is also going to be a disney park in WDW in 2015 and it will be like magic kingdom but i will search Now
CaptHookFan 01-22-2006, 01:17 PM if disney were to make a villians land, yea i could think that it would be more of in older aged park, such like universals islands of adventures.
smilezlie 01-22-2006, 05:50 PM a villian theme park would be too much. as many have said, little kids would not be able to handle some of it...and the rollercoasters would not be fun for the whole family.....
but i happen to know as many kids whos favorite character is captian hook, and little girls who love maleficent. it all depends on the kid.
and i think a villian land in an existing park would actually be good. most adults favorite characters are either tinkerbell or a villian and there is no villian stuff for sale or to see really at disneyland.
and why is it that at disneys california adventure we have to suffer through a bugs land, which is only fun if you are under the age of 6 but the 6 year olds cant suffer through a villlian land?
Oranges 01-22-2006, 06:31 PM When you hear the word "Disney", what comes to mind? Most people think of classic Disney experiences, such as when a Beast falls in love with a Beauty, or how a sleeping maiden is awakened by a prince's kiss. You think of true love, happiness, and good overcoming the evil. These are the words and feelings that the word "Disney" implants in our minds. Of course, it is very strong, happy feeling that is uplifting.
Walt Disney World may just be the one place where the magic we believe in truly resides. It is the hub of our imagination, our dreams, and our wishes. It is a place where adults can re-live their childhood, and completely forget about the life beyond the boundaries of the magical realm. Disney World tries its best to appeal to all the audiences, to give each one of its visitors a truly magical experience. From the enchanting shows to the exciting thrill rides, the parks accomodate to all guest appeal-ers.
Now think about this: do you feel the same magical presence at Busch Gardens, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, or any other we-only-have-exiciting-and-thrilling-ride parks? The answer is no. There will never be the same feeling in any other park but a Disney park.
There is always a trade off. You could go to a high-octane, super intense park and not feel as wonderful as you do at a Disney park, or you can attend a truly wonderful park that eases the mind and puts happiness into your soul. In order to really attract the crowds, Walt Disney World is doing its best to add its own unique set of thrills, from Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, to the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, or DINOSAUR to Expedition Everest.
Nobody will ever force you to do something you really don't want to do, so that could be why Disney World is trying to isolate their thrills to one park, so all guests have a choice. They can visit a magically thrilling park, or they can simply enjoy the peace of a less-intense park, such as the Magic Kingdom.
One thing is always for sure, Disney parks around the globe will never have the same wonderful atmosphere as any other park.

mizbee 01-22-2006, 06:47 PM the whole point of disneyland was a place for parents to take their children and all have fun together. That is the reason Walt built it. I don't see the Disney Company steering away from that vision, especially when it's gained them more commercial success than any other theme park.
btw, I love roller coasters, and I'm just about 30.
spot41414 01-22-2006, 06:50 PM Finally the villains get a little credit. :)
Middiebear 01-22-2006, 07:13 PM The whole argument with Islands of Adventure, would ironically be a point NOT to make a park with only thrill rides and roller coasters...
Look at Islands of Adventure's attendance... It ironically doesn't even get more than Universal Studios (Which only has 1 thrill ride)... and if you also notice the theme park attendance of 2005
Islands of Adventure fell a big 8.5%... that's HUGE... The park only gets 5.76 million visitors a year.... which is actually LESS than Disney's struggling park out in California, and is a good 3 million people away from Walt Disney World's lowest attended park (Disney's Animal Kingdom, 8.2 million visitors)...
Now why would Disney want to build a park that only gets the same number of visitors as a park they consider a failure?
Magic Kingdom park, the world's number ONE most attended theme park on earth... Doesn't really have any thrill rides (except for Splash Mountain with its drop) and it gets 16.1 million visitors in 2005, compared to Islands of Adventure's 5.76... That's not even close... Disney and Universal should honestly not even consider themselves in competition with numbers like that...
My point is... You have parks like Ceder point and Six Flags, which are nothing but Top Thrill Roller Coasters... Don't get the attendance and success you ironically think they would... People want high quality fun experiences that can be had for the ENTIRE family, that only Magic Kingdom park does so well... Not a park filled with only thrill rides... In theory it should work, but as the numbers prove... IT DOESN'T...
Coolbessy 03-02-2006, 11:37 PM thx for the opinions ppl
Sdude 03-02-2006, 11:41 PM i heard about this b4 they said it should be about open in 2016 it is spposed to be a lot like magic kingdom with different types of rides from other movies and some thrilll rides
~twinklebyte~ 03-02-2006, 11:48 PM well i think in Sea World, there is a type of scary ride Atlantis or something. it is not THAT scary but it is a HUGE thrill
manunderwater 03-03-2006, 12:05 AM they should have a promotion in disneyland.. why always WDW @_@ I mean there would be no WDW if it weren't for Disneyland..
Exoxus 03-03-2006, 12:20 AM - crosses fingers - Please may there be an NBC oriented ride Please may there be an NBC oriented ride Please may there be an NBC oriented ride Please may there be an NBC oriented ride -crosses fingers-
I want a NBC ride other then Haunted Mansion Holiday. Maybe a faster one for teens and adults?
[Nightmare Before Christmas = NBC]
Poseidon 03-03-2006, 01:50 AM When we get a Villain's theme park, They'll gut Spaceship Earth and make it a roller coaster, and add a Harry Potter ride. ;)
This is a rumor that's been going on for ages.
I can almost garuntee they will never have just a scary ride. They want it to be a fun atmosphere for EVERYONE. They don't like leaving people out. Some rides don't allow little kids because it is dangerous for them not because it is scary.

Is that why WDW has Mission: SPACE, Rock N' Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror and the recently deceased Alien Encounter? That's not true at all. Disney has built thrill/scary rides before. And the reason for AE getting removed was not because of it being too scary.
And besides, Disney is a family park. They wouldn't make a completely different park unsuitable for younger childre! I mean, would u go to a park with Jafar screaming in ur ear all day? I think not.
Like I said, this isn't true. If it was, AE, Mission: SPACE and Rock N' Roller Coaster would never have existed.
But yes, I think a park entirely full of "bad" wouldn't appeal to very small children.
Coolbessy 03-03-2006, 02:13 AM well i am srry that stirred this up so much because i asked a guy who has worked there for 20 years and he took us on a tour of the parks

Alot of the cast members in WDW/DLR are told false information. Some have absolutely no idea what they're talking about, in fact. I've gotten mislead by alot of CM's at WDW about upcoming additions.
matterhornmaniac 03-03-2006, 04:50 AM We also like to make up stuff to mess with the guests. No, just kidding. But seriously, they tell us nothing. Most of the stuff they tell is just speculation that most guests already know, but guests take it for fact since its coming from someone who has a little more perceived reality.
and in regards to a fifth park. i highly doubt they will build one anytime soon. the intention with animal kingdom was to bring in more attendance (thus more money), but all it did was cannibalize the attendance from the other parks, and just spread people out more throughout the resort. WDW is kind of at its limits with parks. As much as i hate to see the magic kingdom parks become "mcdonald's," the best thing to do is build more resorts in countries that are coming up in the world economy (i.e. Hong Kong)
cornilius 03-03-2006, 06:14 AM if disney ever made a new park i would never go unless they decide to spend money on rides not scenary and robots i mean do people other than little kids actually like those rides they have there i dont like going to disney but i have to every now and then bc my younger brother but if they ever made a new park id hope they use there money on bigger rollercoasters or i would have no interest on going
F0REVERL0ST 03-03-2006, 11:10 AM This has only been rumored. I would like to see a Villian's Land though! :D

Yeah! im totally with you! maybe a show in Oogies Lair! or maybe a ride through Halloween town! Or at least a float for crying out loud!
Coolbessy 03-04-2006, 01:26 AM lol that would be cool
camara 03-04-2006, 02:33 AM i thought a villains park would have been great, but after reading everybody's feelings/opinions, i dont think that is the beast idea any more. How ever,a Magic Kingdom ( or any WDW parks, maybe even a addition to DLR or DCA ) park can use a new section, villains section is good. then ppl can decide if they wish to go or not to the land of "spooky" and "thrils." They could even have a fireworks show there every now and then similar to the Halloween Haunts.
a section ( not a park ) , a big section, can really help . . . .
Coolbessy 03-05-2006, 06:51 PM yes it would thx for the opinions
