RedRockingMint 01-19-2006, 11:34 PM hi i have a question for ppl with i-pods my b-day is in 4 weeks and i want a ipod a dvd player and animal crossing for my ds and my dad and mom wont get me both dvd player and ipod they said for me to see what a ipod does i want to know what all the versions do thanks for ur help:)
Poseidon 01-19-2006, 11:44 PM Well, the only version that's really different is the Video iPod, or 5th Generation iPod which can play TV Shows downloaded off of iTunes, and a bunch of regular videos. The other iPods just vary in storage space, and size.
Hope that helps!
Yes i would get a Video IPod i reccomend it i have it and love it!!
RedRockingMint 01-20-2006, 12:00 AM what stuff do all of them do? beside video and music?
JayTee5 01-20-2006, 12:05 AM that's about it just music and videos, oh well u could put the hime on them and contacts
Also The Shuffle. It has no screen so you can't really tell what song you are watching. although it is the cheapest..
PrincessxAj 01-20-2006, 12:08 AM is the dvd player portable?? if it is get it instead of i-pod..(well i will actually geti-pod because i already have the portable and plus im all bout music!!)

SpinMarty 01-20-2006, 12:10 AM Why not do a google search on ipod or go to the apple site and see all the nifty things each ipod can do.
RedRockingMint 01-20-2006, 01:45 PM ok thanks spin! can you watch movies and tv shows on them?
oh btw i just found a site it says free ipods you have to put in ur e-mail and make a password and than click the ipod you want and fill out the adress form has anyone done that does it really work?
Oranges 01-20-2006, 02:02 PM I very much recommend the Video iPod, seeing as it is a great thing to take on long journeys.
If you wanted to go a bit cheaper, the iPod Shuffle is a nifty device too. It stores about 100 songs, but you have to pay for each one.
Note to all iPod Nano Users: Do you have to keep paying for each song with a Nano?
melizza 01-20-2006, 02:05 PM ok thanks spin! can you watch movies and tv shows on them?

i hate that kind of promotions on the web, they send a whole lot of spam to your email. i dont know if it works though, i kind of doubt it, it just sounds to good to be true.
PrincessWall 01-20-2006, 02:13 PM I am the happy owner of an iPod video, or a 5th Genoration, iPod. You have a calander, a clock, and three simple games on it! You can also have an addressbook, and you can lock your iPod, so only when you put the code in, only you can open it. But remember, this is VERY expensive, so you might want to go a tiny bit cheaper.. if you dont need any of these qualities except music, maybe you should get an mp3 player.. thats what I had before I got my iPod....
RedRockingMint 01-20-2006, 03:08 PM cool! thanks guys im about to make my decision so hurry and tell me!
ps has anyone ever heard of that site?
fantasylion 01-20-2006, 03:27 PM :xmas33: :xmas35: ok thanks spin! can you watch movies and tv shows on them?

mickeymouse2818 01-20-2006, 03:30 PM well i have the video ipod in the 30GB and i have to say that i absolutely love it. the only problem i have with it is that when you are watching a full length movie or just the tv shows, the battery life on it goes down significatly. when you are listening to music the battery life last around 16hrs but when you are watching videos the battery life decreases to only about 2hrs because in order to watch the videos the backlight must stay on and i think that is why the battery life goes down. im sure that the 60GB has a longer battery life for the movies but i still love my ipod. i would definitately recommed it.
and as a ps, if you want to transfer your home movies to an ipod it does take sometime, roughly about 2hrs or depending how long your dvd is, but in order for you do to this your computer must be able to read dvd movies from there all you do is have to find dvd decoder software and an ipod coverter software. if you are doing this i recommed using videoara (the software is free for download and works really good) here is the link if you want it

I have to totally agree about the 30GB I-Pod. I LOVE IT!!!! I have downloaded most of my favorite songs from my CD collection and I have barely scratched the surface to the memory. I am hoping to download some videos to try out that feature this week. I am also having such fun with the accessories such as skins, sweaters and so on this is the best present my husband ever gave me. We also gave our 12 year old daughter the 4GB Nano and she also Loves it. She has made a slideshow with music and pictures which is very cool. I-Pods are THE BEST! (Can you tell I like mine ;) )
kidkid9393 01-20-2006, 04:35 PM well as far as i know An ipod plays music that you download and to download it you pay 1$ each song so go wit da dvd player cause for the same amount of money you could buy yourself a decent stareo and a bunch of Cds So go wit the dvd player cause it will probally end up costing less cause ok your ipod hold 300 songs and when you get a 300 you end up spening 300$ but the dvd player i think would be better cause most of them you can also play music on and if you really want to sepnd less money the dont get a streo and get a walk man well wat ever you pick is your choice but as long as you know u have to pay for each song you download so a dvd player is the way i would go ( plus if you ge enough b-day money then save it for a year then you get x-mas ( or wateever holiday u celbrate) money andanother b-day money and say you get an equle of 100$ on x-mas your b-day and your next b-day you could buy an ipod and then just need to save more money to buy the soongs ) but thats wat i have to say Bye now hope you dont make the wrong choice

Tallulauh 01-20-2006, 08:12 PM sorry if i am double posting Ok this does not often work and if it does i will be getting a psp a ps3 and a xbox360 So if i get this stuff it works but if i dont the waaahhh i spent like 2 hours filling out stuff it probally wont work i filled 1 out once for a camera digatel oh yeah and a computer so if i get anything i will let you know
1st of all: NEVER EVER click those things. They are ALWAYS SCAMS.
2nd of all: You shouldn't EVER fill out something that asks for your address if you don't know if it's a scam or not. IT'S NOT SAFE!
3rd of all: I'd go with an Ipod nano. I have a 2GB that holds 500 songs or photos. I can't say I'd go with a Video Ipod if you have bad eye sight. The screens a very small for watching movies on. Although I don't own one so I really can't be a critic

You don't have to buy the music from I-Tunes (I have not spent one penny on music to download) The only thing I have now purchased is a couple of Green Day Videos for $1.99 each. You download CD's you already have. The I-Pods hold thousands of songs,,not 300. The smallest capacity is the small shuffle which holds around 120 songs. Now when we go on trips instead of picking out which CD's to take along plus the CD player I have every CD I own on a small I-Pod which is the size of a deck of cards. In my opinion once you own an I-Pod you will wonder how you ever did without. I also have it wired through my car stereo. I-Pods ROCK!

Note to all iPod Nano Users: Do you have to keep paying for each song with a Nano?
With a nano, you upload the songs from your iTunes music program on your computer. You can buy songs, also. I own one. So, you don't have to pay for the songs you already have on iTunes. There is an iPod nano that holds 500 songs, and then there is an iPod that holds 1,000 songs. You can get a black or white one.
Chaelle 03-25-2006, 06:33 PM I have a question as well: I have an i-pod apple and I was wondering how I could put pictures on it.

Pay for each song? No, my nano does not do that to me, I just buy the song once, and it stays in my song library.... although it does skip sometimes. Yeah, I reccomend the video iPod because it can store music, videos, and even pictures on it (I have pictures of vmk on mine :D)
