Ok so lots of people think the only way to follow someone is to add them to your friends list. Doing what I am about to give in a full step-by-step guide will teach you how to do this without adding people. This is also the main way we quickly find tester locations and staff and host rooms that are open.

There is two things you can do to find a room and/or person. You can either type the players name in VMK or the room title in which they are hosting a game or are in.

(I am using caffdawg as an example because I am currently in her room lol)

Step 1:
Click the globe button located at the bottom of the screen. Make sure you are at the main screen for VMK; click the tab at the upper-right corner that says Guest Rooms...

Step 2:
Once in the Guest Rooms tab you will see three different tabs. Make sure you are in the Popular Guest Rooms Tab and type in either the name of the person you are looking for, or the name of the room you are looking for. If you type the name of the person you are looking for you will find every room that is open which they own...

{You can also type one of these three things to quickly find a staff member, host, or community leader room open. (VMK_,HOST_,CL_) If you put any of those three in there you can easily find what you are looking for.}

Step 3:
Once the list of the rooms that person owns which are open comes out, select the room in which you would like to enter...

Step 4:
After you find the room you would like to enter click the Enter Room tab at the bottom left of the window on the screen...

A different way of doing Step 2 is to type in the room title. So a lot of times when I am hosting a game I go into a random room and say everyone search for "The Pirate Challenge." Once they do this it will bring up any match to what they just typed. So in this case I will type in "Safari Lounge" to find the new Animal Kingdom room caffdawg opens quite often...

This is an easy was to learn how to find people's rooms. Also an easy way to find something of interest is to type a key word like "free." Once you do this it will show every room that fits that so you will find a complete list of different rooms with free in the title. Also thank you to GreenGirlRocks for pointing out that the search is not case sensitive. This means that you don't have to hold shift to do things such as... This anD this where You CHANGE random letters to capitals ToO SpElL a PeRsOnS name on VMK.

Bumping this because I want people to say this. Many people just don't know and I want to make sure lots of people will see this and learn if they don't know how.

Even though I already knew this, I'm glad you made this thread!

Very easy to read, lovely pictures - a job well done, Napthali!

This is a great guide, and I would like to expand upon the use of 'partial' names when searching. I have used this a lot when searching for those people I don't know well yet, I try to meet up with for a trade or are not on my friend list. Just like you showed above to search on (vmk_, host_, cl_), you can search anybody with just part of their name/room title. (especially if you are not sure of the spelling!) For example, you could type 'green' and hit search and it would find my room if I was in it. Oh yes, and the search is NOT case-sensitive, so no Shift key is necessary. Glad I could contribute!

What do you mean by an "open" room? Does the other character have to be online for the search to have results? I did a search on my offline character and got no results, even though that character owns a half-dozen rooms. Can you enter a room belonging to someone else without them being there?
