View Full Version : Can you get a ban for telling where you don't live?
fun4life 01-18-2006, 05:56 PM I said this in VMK: "Here where i live ( not in the Us)" and some seconds later I had a personal message: "Dont give personal information (some other text)... or you get a ban".
So, my question is why do you get a ban for telling where you don't live? Ok, i said where I lived - not in the USA - but is some sick person comming to my place in Europe? I don't think so! It's a very stupid rule to punish somebody... :glare8:
bigZZ 01-18-2006, 05:59 PM well technecly that was personal info in saying that u dont live in the US, however vauge that is its a rule and we must abide by it
fun4life 01-18-2006, 06:12 PM well technecly that was personal info in saying that u dont live in the US, however vauge that is its a rule and we must abide by it
Hmm, ok... you're right.
I'm happy that i didn't get a ban ;) :)
Casey_K 01-18-2006, 06:40 PM lol, I got a ban, only for 2 hours though. I totally forgot.
Tallulauh 01-18-2006, 06:46 PM I guess maybe vmk thinks of it as personal info considering that it has to do with you location. And who knows? There could be a kid-knapper out there who just checked USA off his "Places where VMK player fun4life might live" list. xD
FantasyBlueBoy 01-18-2006, 07:00 PM Well You shouldnt do that anyway. If you dont really live there ppl will THINK you live there but you dont but you would still maybe get a report But sometimes you get lucky Remember it next time
Tallulauh 01-18-2006, 07:02 PM Periods would be nice ^. I'm just sayin'
FantasyBlueBoy 01-18-2006, 07:12 PM Im Not a grammer person lol
Tallulauh 01-18-2006, 07:16 PM Same here, same here
Gingerkitty 01-18-2006, 07:57 PM I would think that they are trying to discourage giving personal info, because someone always finds a way to say it. Like when people in Canada like me, say Can add a, we get around it. i think it should be ok to say we aren't in the U.S.A, or to say what country we are in, but no further.
ravenis4gurls 01-21-2006, 02:56 AM Well.. who would want to go and take your kid that lives in Africa? Why would a thief even bother? lol! N-E ways.. they don't want you giving out personal information anyway.. so if you say i live... just change it up and work your way around it.. something like the can add a thing. But just don't do it.. just say it is against VMK values. (not that the people listen):xmas16: I understand your pain, because if you even say "I live.." The VMK Staff may be watching you that very moment. So just watch what you say an you may work around it. I can't even say how many times I almost got banned from VMK for just saying "I live"
Take care!!

Ultamite 01-23-2006, 12:54 AM i think so but i am not sure
Ali-Rae 01-23-2006, 01:00 AM Ummm, you DID say where you live. You said I don't live in US so that means you technically said you live in 1 of the other countries! You could get banned. I would request not doing it again. They know if they gave you warnings or not so if you do it again they will probably give you a 2 hour or week bann
DJTony 01-23-2006, 01:03 AM I thought I met a friend in the game because she had a name that I gave to her as a nickname. Turns out it wasnt her and I got the 2 hour ban. OOPS! Oh well. What they should do is take out the word "live" from the dictionary. And on that note, why do they have the word "beach" the only way I have ever seen it used was as a derrogatory way, lol.
LeighaRules 01-23-2006, 01:06 AM seroiusly because are ppl gonna stalk you and search for you all over your country ? i think not !
