Well I have some gossip. Remember back in the day when at DLR there were rumors or making a water park. Also I remember when they had Who wants to be a millionaire play it! closed and the old superstar limo near it there were rumors they were putting in the infamous Rockin' Roller Coaster from MGM-Studios.

First thread in this option!
Fine camara SECOND thread lol

All of these are rumors floating around and with rumors, I don't really expect them to come true. Nothing official has come out concerning these
From what I recall:

The water park was a plan long time ago that might have occupied the extra parking lot for Downtown Disney (just south of Paradise Pier Hotel) but these plans I think came up long ago before the CA Adventure plans came up (I think it was part of the original Wescot plans, but it was so long ago I can't remember exactly).
There have been suggestions by posters of other fan sites that a water park could be a potential idea for a back-up/scaled-back plan for the Disney property if the city of Anaheim gets its way by cutting a major boulevard right through the potential site of a possible third theme park but again, City of Anaheim and Disney are probably going to have to negociate on this and the city's boulevard plan was only presented not too long ago (and Disney has not made any official press releases/opinions/reactions to the city's plan..yet). I believe these are just suggestions by fans.
Superstar Limo has now been replaced by Monsters Inc. Mike and Sully to the Rescue. There have been some cast members talking about Rocking Roller Coaster coming to DCA but that ride would require alot of land to build on (land that DCA doesn't have except what remains of the old Disneyland Parking Lot) but I wouldn't much weight on this for the time being.

my personal favorite RUMOR (implying it isnt true....) is they are adding johnny deppS to pirates of the carribean......

other past rumors:

-when jungle cruise went down there was a rumor that the jungle cruise and indiana jones would now be separated by a wall. something about being from 2 totally different time periods and all this random stuff.....

-for the 50th aniversary there was a rumor that they were moving the rocket jets back up top where they used to be.

i also remember the rockin rollercoaster and waterpark rumors. i will see if i can think of anymore lol.

my personal favorite RUMOR (implying it isnt true....) is they are adding johnny deppS to pirates of the carribean......This actually might happen and its a very good chance too! :) when they do a major refurbishment of pirates from March to June. Many cast members in Disneyland have been saying this nowadays (and there have been some claims of eyewitness accounts of the animatronic).

yes, well cast members gossip lol. trust me, i know. thats how rumors get started. a cast member says what they heard "from management/someone who would know", the next cast member assumes the first cast member heard it from management and so on until it almost becomes an accepted "fact"...last i heard there were gonna be 12 johnny depps. im serious.

and the chances of them putting in a johnny depp is slim, since the reason pirates is going down is to fix a lot of things and make it better. most of it should stay the same. its like saying that the reason why mansion is going down for so long is so they can add an Eddie Murphy to the ride. every few years the rides gp down for a big chunk of time, and that is what generally happens. its rare disney changes things like that.

i would also like to add that the chance of cast members seeing the supposed johnny depp is VERY unlikely. the areas that cast members can access would not be the same place they would put a very delicate, most likely fairly large animatronic. if he exists hes probably still in storage so he doesnt get broken.

i guarentee you disney does not trust its cast members as much as one would think they would, they do not like them seeing things like that for fear of them leaking it to the press or just doing things to the animatronic. so the rumors of people seeing it are most likely false unless they work in the animatronics making part of disney.

If Disneyland gets Rock 'n' Roller Coaster I will scream. I mean, if Disneyland gets all this stuff from us, we ("we" being us Disney Worlders) don't get anything back from them. I know we have four parks but could we just keep some of our stuff to ourselves, rather than donating. We already had to cough up Rock 'n' Roller Coaster to Paris; I wonder what it would be like: listening to Aerosmith in French lol.

rockin' rollercoaster will most likeley be wdw only cause look at all the rides DLR has and wdw doesn't. Also, Jonny Depp in POTC will kind of ruin it unless he is just an out of the way animatronic. sort of like those other ride easter eggs with htings from other things that relate.

yes well dont be to selfish yet LOL im a DLRer and it is Disneylands 50th Anniversary not WDW but for some reason and this is why i complain is that WDW is Getting FOR THE 50th CELEBRATION even thought WDW is not 50, DCA's Soarin Over California (florida????) lol, Japan's Cinderellabration, & others so dont complain lol just because disneyland is getting more stuff it kind of should because it is the original from walts dream he actually walked the park seeing all the Disney goers having fun, and also isnt it good to share? That was very rude if I do say so myself.I have never been to WDW,I do not plan on going soon, plus I live near disneyland so it would be more convinate if there were more WDW rides in DLR. It is supposed to be DISNEYLAND'S 50th ANIVERSERY not WDW's,and yet they went out of their way to give WDW a little treat.Personally in my appinan,WDW will never ever ever be as good and exciting as DLR.

The biggest and most interesting rumor I heard: Disneyland after dark.

Sometime this year (or next, most likely), POTC, Space mountain, and a few other rides will go through (more) major refurbishment. This will take the form of another track that branches off from the main track. After sunset, they will close off the main track and tell all the cars to go on the secondary track. This track will, in effect, be a ride of it's own, with it's own storyline, special effects, music, etc. For example, according to Wikipedia

Also part of this major "new" Space Mountain is a nighttime transformation of the attraction to Rock It Mountain, in which the calmer soundtrack of the attraction in daytime hours will be replaced at night by a driving rock soundtrack featuring Van Halen, and different special effects. It will premiere in 2006 alongside Disney's California Adventure's Twilight Zone Tower of Terror randomized drop sequence, as part of the second half of Disneyland's 50th Anniversary celebration. Rock It Mountain will not use the **** Dale soundtrack that many Disney fans enjoyed, but the **** Dale Space Mountain theme makes one final appearance on Disneyland's 50th Anniversary 6-CD box set..

As for POTC, supposedly after passing the pirate ship firing at the town (which will be remodeled to resemble the Black Pearl), instead of taking a right into town, you will carry on straight ahead, leading you into the POTC based on the movie. So all you purists are happy, all you Jonny Depp fans are happy, and all you fans of those rocks that currently reside where the track will be... too bad for you :p

POTC is only undergoing a 3-month refurbishment, i wouldn't be expecting very drastic changes to the ride. Also, that separate track idea was brought up back in 2004, but it is still not known nor guaranteed if that is the plan that will be part of the refurbishment. You can see this post by SpinMarty about what that plan was about but again, it's not guaranteed that the plan went through:

besides, it NORMALLY takes disney a month or so to turn hm and small world into haunted mansion holiday and small world holiday....it took 2 years to put in a new track and change space mountain...how on earth is it possible to change the track in pirates and add 12 johnny depps? disney is slow, it takes a long time to do stuff like that.

Oh by the way I used to be A DLR person, since i lived really close to it. DLR Is way awesome, since we not only had the first Soarin' ride that was given to WDW, but also the INDIANA JONES ride, which is not open in WDW and won't be!!! lol ok I'm done

Rocket Mountain, Johnny Depp, and Rock in Roller Coaster.... all of these are wonderful rumors that "may" go into the DLR, just not anytime soon. Now that Monster's replaced Millionaire, it's time to focus on the Nemo Submarine ride. After that is complete, I believe the Lion King parking lot is going to be used to expand DCA (just a rumor, and I hear it may be another roller coaster). I see nothing wrong with sharing a ride from one park to another. WDW had Tower of Terror and DLR had Soarin. The rides were swapped now both parks have both rides. There are some exclusive rides though: Indiana Jones (DLR), Dinosaur (WDW), Kali River Rapids (WDW), Grizzly River Rapids (DLR), Stitch's Escape (WDW), Monster's Inc (DLR)... see what I mean. And those exclusive rides are going to drive people to the park. It is nice though when you do have similar rides at all the parks (like Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise). People relate that to the "Disney park". Makes things very nice when it's all uniform. :)

There is already adds for Rocket mountain. It will be for the grad nighters... and as for POTC, it seems to be true. i heard an imagineer on a podcast say WHY POTC the ride is becoming more like POTC the movie.

The rumor seems to be that only a few extra animatronics will be added, and there have been "Illigal pics" of the refurbishment going on. Sadly, the pics were taken down because Disney said to. :)

EDIT: -leave rumors for others-

I have something to say about this:
disney is slow.
I hope you weren't trying to be mean there... The reason it takes a while is because they have a way of having lots of detail in EVERYTHING.
If it takes a while for Disney to make something, they're putting a LOT of detail into the project. Take Expedition: Everest, for example: Think about how long it took to aquire the right setting for all the animatronics. And the Yeti STILL breaks down every once in a while. The mountain took a lot of materials to build. Everything had to be placed just right, or the entire thing was SCREWED!

I think that is true too. Disneyland its self is a masterpiece and they change it alot to make it good. And DCA is not so great, they need to fix it (I think 1 problem is the pier, there rides and the music are not so disney like).

besides, it NORMALLY takes disney a month or so to turn hm and small world into haunted mansion holiday and small world holiday....it took 2 years to put in a new track and change space mountain

I THINK!! it is because holiday smallworld and HM takes about a moth because the are adding thing and not changine things. And they basicly made the new Space moutian from scratch

And i think there was a romur about Peoplemover comming back?

*whistles* Are we (I am a shareholder with 2 shares since I got one of Pixar as
a gift last year..) going to kick Iger out?? lol*whistles*

Their are many rumors of Disneyland now:

Rock-it Mountain to pre-open for regular guests immediately after grad night ends.. rather than wait for July...

DCA entrance area re-themed to that of a more naturalistic California taking away the golden gate bridge (hide the monorail with something else) and everything in that entrance area gets a new layover.. keeping California.

People Mover track keeps seeing imaginers on it... someone has to be having something going from Blue-sky phase to a proposal by now...

A New ride in frontier land in a few years out by the old ranch and festival of fools arena...

Adding a new secret E-ticket ride over more of the parking lot behind DCA... no clue for what section of the park.

That’s all I know...

What I meant to say more clearly.. the Video, car (parked near Down Town Disney and the Esplinade), and the high school advertisements say the graduating seniors will get a chance to ride it during Grad-Nights.. that is true, but Rumor has it. after grad nights are over they will test it with the general public.. not just seniors. Actually, i was in DLR on march 14, they are adding an updated version of the pirates soundtrack for the ride, along with Capt.Jack, and barbossa, they are not planning on taking anything out, just incorporating them. They will be adding something new to the Haunted Mansion, instead of the hitchhiking ghosts sitting with you, they will talk and interact with guests.

it is sorta too late for that... but disney is getting a new CEO! one that doesn't ruin the CLASSICS! all there is left is pirates and haunted mansion... the second walt died, disney went from "i built this park for fun" to "i run the park for MONEY! CHA-CHING!"
oh disney, i wish i had seen the original..
