I went to Disneyland today and they were still giving out the pirate, etc. quest card packs for turning in your completed cards and Tomorrowland printout. Cast themselves never know from day to day if/when that will change.

Apparently, up through yesterday, if you turned in an unused tour card, they gave you the real VMK pin for it! This was for a very short time; starting around Dec. 20th or 24th, I think. I asked if the pin would be offered for anything else in the future, and they do not know.

It was raining off and on today and there was a sign at the VMK booth directing guests to go inside Innoventions. The booth was through an entry just beyond and to the right of the VMK "cave"; a little hard to see. Cast members were very friendly and helpful; one was even checking people's answers for them while they waited in line.

I decided to hang around a little after I got my cards, and boy I'm glad I did! A castmember stood at the front of the cave area and called out, "Who wants to win some prizes?" And they did an in-game scavenger hunt then and there! When you made it to the correct VMK area, you pushed the red button beside your keyboard. My brain does not work well on the spot, but much to my shock I managed to win the last one, which was the grand prize.:) I won't mention what it was, since I'm not sure they offer the same thing all the time.

The CM told me they have more time now to do this sort of thing. He said any time you see a fair amount of people at the terminals, you can find a castmember and ask them if they will do a scavenger hunt!

I asked about the new Monster's Inc. attraction and was told Jan. 6 will be the start of the VMK tie-in there. (Forgot to ask what it would be; I guess this is different than the door teleporter that you can win online from the website?)

Magic Mirrors have not been discontinued as rumored; I talked to the CM at the Magic Shop who placed an order for them recently. They are just waiting for the cards to come in. So you might want to hold off on those huge trades for one. ;)

Nice Update :D Yes, I also received the real tour pins for my unused tour cards on 12/31.
The CM told me they have more time now to do this sort of thing. Had other things on my mind like sardine-ing myself amid the enomous crowds for the New Year's Eve events/fireworks ;) .

I don't know if they have any particular schedule to it, but they said players can ask a CM to do it any time the computer terminals are fairly full.

I wish I had the money to go Disneyland because I want to check out all this new stuff. :(

It's a big event even though we live in the Sunny state, but it's a couple of hours away and of course, rather expensive to go often. Since you've posted all this, I know what to expect or not to expect when I get there. I understand that by the time I go this week it'll be too late for the Holiday Quest, possibly the Tomorrowland Quest (according to the deadline at the bottom on the Trivia sheet), and too early for the Monsters Inc. golden door teleporter (:rolleyes:). However, maybe the in-land quests will stay the same and I'll bring a printout of each of the online quests just in case. ;)

I'll stick around innovations for a time (if my family will permit) and see if we can snag a scavenger hunt. Just wondering, what time of questions were asked that you have to think fast "on the spot"? :xmas16:

I went today (yes, in the rain). The pin, I was told, was given out between the 23rd (after the tours ended) and the 31st in exchange for an unused tour card (along with 16 quest cards. I didn't ask further which those were). They didn't know if or when the pin would return.

:: Personal Observation ::
I doubt they would make a pin like this and only make it available for one week. I wager we will see it again.

On a side note, today is the last day for both the Tomorrowland and Holiday Quests. Unknown if Tomorrowland quest will be replaced, revamped or extended.

Also, I went to DCA to ride the new Monsters Inc. ride. Due to the weather, there was no line whatsoever. I went on three times in a row, and could have done more. No info on the cards yet.

But they were pretty firm on the deadline on the pin giveaway. Not sure if it will be the same with the T-Land Quest.

I feel new quests are coming. With the tours gone, and Tomorrowland and Holiday over, most of the prizes are no longer available. They will need to add more soon.

Our family went to DL on 1/4. I guess I should have checked the posts here first, as we were disappointed to find that there were no more insider tours. We did get the "pirate pack" of cards for our trouble, but no pin or anything else. The CM didn't seem to know what was coming up with VMK. We had this same experience when we went to WDW. The cast member there seemed very uninformed too.

No monsters Inc. card yet.

I had my friend turn in my Mickey Hidden Quest I pdf form that said I won an insider tour, but they only gave him the card for the gold collection, I did not receive the "pirate pack" of cards!! I am bummed!!

DLR is expected to celebrate the anniversary for a futher 6 - 7 months, though, so the gold collection might return. It's hard to tell.

For a very limited time, DLR was handing out Pirate Quest card packs for the Insider Tour cards, as well as for the Hidden Mickey printout. As of last week, Pirate Quest card packs were still being given out for turning in the regular park quests.

If I remember correctly, the celebration is going on for 18 months. It started in May, and will end in November.
