In this delightful animated romp starring Donald Duck, Humphrey The Bear PRETENDS to be a bear rug to avoid hunting season! Isn't it possible that's what happening here in VMK? I was in a room and everyone was like: Save the bears!!

A few people were saying its not real. I said think of it as a giant stuffed animal bear Lol. Just flatter. O_O

What also confuses me is why some are not wanting a bear rug to "save" the bear. But they will allow to have a skull of what I believe as a bull.

The seagull on the hat is not animated so who's to say it's alive, it doesn't move. Regardless of that fact, most everyone wants it anyway.

it is only virtual. nothing is wrong with it and no bears got harmed in the making of the rug. if you think it looks weird or because VMK is "killing" animals and that is why you are voting BOOT. why? VMK didn't kill animals...it is a pixelized item on the computer!!if it looks weird, don't BOOT it,don't vote! those of you who are voting BOOT are just ruining it for the ppl who really want this rug(like me ). if you don't want it, don't buy it. at least let the ppl who want it enjoy it. this is just my opinion on how things should be and what is going on.

omg lol thats funny cause i have the full collection of disney classics looked for that one and saw it! Yes i think that bear looks alot like the rug in VMK lol.

WOW. we should ban a lot of things on VMK. If there is something I do not like i just do not buy it.

I do not like to kill animals. But to equate a pixilized game piece as real life is pretty silly.

Also it is quite odd how they are actually taking a poll on this. For one this is just a game with little pixilated characters and shouldn't be taken as a life situation. For the second reason like people have stated before is that they don't have to buy it if they don't want it nor anything to do with it.

It could always be a synthetic rug, (I think that's how you spell it,) meaning like a fake one, made of polyaster or fibers.

Nobody ever thinks about that..Or maybe they did.

I respect your opinion. But did you know if there were no hunters that the animal population would be bigger which would cause MUCH more killings on innocent people say by bears and other animals.

If bears got so great in number, their prey would run out eventually, then they would drop in number. That's how population works.

Wrong. It doesn't stabilize there. What eventually happens is a negative feedback loop, with the same cycle happening over and over again. Massive growth of bear population would increase predation, which would mean eventual lack of prey. The amount of bears would then decrease, as the birth rate of bears decreaces due to the lack of sufficient energy. Then, the prey would be able to regrow (over a long and undetermined period of time) and the vicious cycle would occur again.

HOWEVER, given this, this is a theoritical situation where hunting is actually having an effect on the population. Normally, this doesn't really happen (or I do not know of), as hunting is within certain guidelines, which are enforced by animal rights laws. (Usually, not taking into account of endagered species of bears, ala Panda bear)

Well, there's another scientific lesson taught by Thunder. I hope this dispells most myths made about the nature of bears. I think it's going to be ignored though. Most of my long lengthy posts usually get tossed admist a torrent of other comments. :)

i agree, if someone is against the bear rug so much they don't need to buy it. if they are really really upset they can write a letter to the staff and express their opinion. but now walking around vmk i hear so much about the rug its really starting to annoy me. if the people don't want the bear rugs in vmk they should also think about how many times they have done or seen:

played the pirates game
got mad at someone and typed 'hit' or 'kk ill' or 'attack!'
played the haunted mansion game with dead Ghosts! lol
looked at shrunken ned and thought, ' who ripped off your head?'

and this is just off the top of my head right now.
im not saying any of this is bad or evil, as it is a computer game and nobody should take it seriously. but if this bear rug is the thing that gets everyone upset then most players have not noticed much about vmk. again i say, i think the rug is fine and it's just a game.

Well since we are getting rid of bear rugs because it promotes killing bears then let's also get rid of the tiki's on sale. Tiki's promote the killing of trees! Let's also get rid of the poster of the bird with the bulls-eys on it's side because that obviously promote's the killing of birds!!! Do you see where this is going? If VMK hadn't had this even there wouldn't be AS MUCH agrument. There would have been some but not like this!

yes, and the children would either get very badly injured or killed if they hunted a bear, so for those who say, " it encourages kids to kill bears ". those ppl are WRONG! i am starting to really get annoyed at ppl protesting against it, no bears are getting hurt, and like alot of ppl say, ppl who vote BOOT are just ruining it for others who want it, and i really dont care if i get a bad rep this is a thread that expresses ur thoughts isnt it? i think so! lol
