I don't know why people would complain about it. I think it's a very nice disney-like thing to say.

Dude, it is your trademark, and there is no reason that I can think of to complain about it. Besides, it is a very nice thing to say

I always say "have a magical day" in VMK. That's how I end my stuff to staff in the help tool.

The cast members say it and I think its nice :)

Have a Magical Day! that is a wonderful thing to say to someone. Here at WDW that is a standard among cast members. Wouldn't it be great if each day were filled with magic? Oh, wait it is!

That is a great ending! I usually say "Later Days" lol. "Have a Magical Day" is a lot more polite than "Bye" or something like that.

Exactly. Personally, I feel it is a wonderful, uplifting thing to say, but there are those that are adversed to anything remotely magical, regardless if it is being used for good or the bad. Just like how some religions/people hate Harry Potter. All because it has to do with magic. You may be thinking, "why would Disney be evil?" but actually, as I stated before, some religions and people think that anything that used magic for any reason is bad.

Why in the Disney world would people complain about that? It's a really nice thing to say, and it fits VMK. What I don't understand is why people would complain about it.

If you said that, I would say: "u too!"

Have a Magical Day is fine if it were just the staff using it - it's what the park Cast Members are told to say.

But I had a problem with a CL who was helping to run the staff river ride one night. Staff was evidently having a problem with the rooms and had closed the entrance. Every player who asked a question would be answered, "Please come back another time and have a Magical Day." by this same CL.

I ended up reporting him to VMK staff (through the Contact Us so I could give explicit details). My point was twofold. First, for the CL to answer the same thing over and over regardless of the question was a terrible way to treat other players. If he was in a position to help, then he should have actually paid attention to and answered each question.

Second, and most important, his use of "have a Magical Day" and how he used it was, as far as I was concerned, Cast member impersonation. He was placed in a position to help staff, not act like staff, and it was obvious that he adopted the use of the phrase specifically to pose as a Cast Member and be above the other players.

There have been many complaints of CLs using the title to be "above" other players, and that has happened from time to time. That's one of the reasons I chose to quit being a CL - the title goes to some players' heads. And it certainly did in his case, and his use of the "Magical Day" phrase was icing on the cake.

So, I don't have a problem with the phrase "have a Magical Day," but if it's a player, my gut reaction is they're playing staff and I want no part of it.

I'm not a CL, and I have said this because it's a nice thing to say. I don't know why we all can't wish the magic.

Personally, I really don't mind. Saying "Have a magical Day" is a more creative way of saying "goodbye" or "have a nice day". It might offend people, but I can't see why somebody who is offended by magic would be playing a game called "Virtual MAGIC Kingdom" a game that practically revolves around MAGIC pins and mythical characters. I also don't see how saying "Have a Magical Day" couild be impersonating staff because
1.Personally, I never heard staff say that
2. The staff members weren't the first to say that. I've heard some people who have never been to and of the Disney Resorts and don't play VMK and have no intrest in disney whatsoever say "have a magical day"

In short, I think it's perfectly fine

I don't see anything wrong with saying "Have a Magical Day". Isn't Disneyland and WDW referred to as The Magic Kingdom??? And as Tallulauh pointed out, this is a game called "Virtual Magic Kingdom"??? I don't think it's a bad phrase to say unless of course you were 'sort of' abusing it as Gatsby pointed out an instance of a CL parrotting the phrase and not really doing his job.

(I also have never heard any CM at DLR or any staff in the game say it myself either)

What's wrong with that? You're giving us a polite fair-well..and if people are being mean about it, then that's just strange O_o.

Oh, and if you said that to me..i would probably say "Thanks, you too!"

I think that the CL who was saying " Have a magical day!" only meant it because in a way, he was in a position where staff always do this, and I mean, its Disney! I would personally feel VERY happy if someone said have a magical day to me, because.. well, I'm a Disney freak, and "Have a magical day" always makes me feel very happy, so to tell you the truth, having that said to me would make my day!
