This morning I woke up to my mom screaming! I come down and our tree is on the floor with every single ornament shattered! :( This is the worst Christmas ever! :( First my dad got in a car accident, then our 140.00 snowglobe was stolen, and now all of our ornaments are ruined! I am mostly sorry for my mom, for she had the most ornaments on the tree and all of her memories are destroyed! 2 more days till Christmas! Tomorrow Is Christmas Eve! This Is The Worst Christmas Ever!! :(

Funster I am so sorry about all the turmoil that you and your mom are going through this holiday. This is the way life is full of ups and downs. I ended up in a car accident just before my trip to Disneyland, it broke my heart to see my brand new car all battered and beat. But I was able to walk away and still go on my trip. It could have been so much worse.
Now is the time for you and your mom to pick up the pieces and maybe go around the house and put little momentos of all of you on the tree. Broken ornaments can be tossed away but the true ornaments on the tree are the wonderful memories you all share as a family. Take family pictures and put them on the tree. This is not the worst Christmas ever, this is the Christmas that your family came together to overcome a few set backs.
Have a great holiday and give your Mom a hug. Tell her that another Mom really sympathizes and wishes her the best, wipe those tears away you have a wonderful son!:xmas35: :xmas35:

That must be so heartbraking to lose so many heirlooms in one blow. I know there is nothing I can really say, this must be a terrible heartbreaking morning for your family!
All I can say is I hope somehow you can all find a way to overcome it and not let it completely destoy your Chistmas. Hang in there and be strong! I'm sure your sympathy to your Mom's loss will help her a little. Maybe you can run out and buy her a special ornament just from you to say "I'm so sorry Mom." It won't be 50 years old, but it will be special because it showed you cared and were aware of how much she lost.
I am glad your Dad is ok though after his accident. Car accidents are so scary.

I know exactly what you mean. My grandparents have a tree filled with ornaments just as old if not older than 50 years. It may take a while to get over the breaking of them but don't worry, you will find new things to give value to. Maybe make a scrapbook filled with pictures from christmas then, now and contiune to put together pictures. The book will not be able to shatter and years from now, that book with be filled with value and memories. This is just a thought. I can't tell you "Don't worry, they were just ornaments" because I understand how much value can be hidden within such. Just don't let youself be one of those shattered ornaments and just make the most of Christmas in the best way possible. Maybe make some new ornaments with your family. Everyone deserves the best christmas ever!

Remember Xmas is not about presents (which LOTs of people now forget) but about spending time with family and friends. You dont need physical objectsd but love and what not.

Those were just items not the memories themselves, all items can be replaced, maybe not in value but, personally I would rather have meh family member (meh doggy) than a bunch of ornaments. I can't see why you did throw your dog out unless he/she went rapid grinch-like and purposely knocked down the tree to steal Christmas LOL, but aleast you still have each other, and everybody is with you. You have food, and you still have all your christmas memories, and maybe someday you'll look back at this chirstmas memory and laugh, maybe not now, but for now:

1.Try and put the tree back up
2.Make popcorn strings (great family activity)
3.Give the poor dog a treat O_o (lol)
4.Sing songs, or play music
5.Sit by the fire
6.Hand make ornaments like origami or paper things.
7.Put Random stuff on the tree :)

Don't worry everything will be okay in the end. And try to make the best of your holiday. You ahve the best of my wishes. :)

but as others have said, You dont need the ornaments or presents or snowglobe or even a tree to enjoy christmas. Its the memories u and your family have of those ornaments. The presents are just random things from the mall. The snowglobe is just a decoration and the tree is well, just a tree. All you need on Christmas is your family and friends by your side. All you need for a present is to know that they love and care about you. I really do hope you get a Christmas miracle though Fun. :)

OMG i am so so so sorry! I know it feels now tht everything is going wrong and tht Christmas wont be the same.. but Christmas isn't about the ornaments and the decorations and the presents and stuff. :xmas24: Funster I am really sorry to hear this. And I understand how your mom must be feeling with the sentimental value of the ornaments. While this really seems bad, it all depends on how you look at things. Just think, it could have been worse...at least you still have your Dad and he was not seriously injured or killed. You still have your family to share the holiday with that is the important part...and I'm sure you still have presents :xmas4: . Your Mom may have lost her ornaments, but she still has the memories attached to them and that is what counts. It may seem like the worst but if you look at things differently it will get better. Please cheer up and enjoy the holiday.

I'm sorry to hear your going through some tough times. I know where you're coming from when things go bad. Christmas isn't ruined, it is just on a sadder tone. You don't have to be sad, just think of everything that is good that is happening. Try to look at the brightside of things. Maybe these things happened for a reason, maybe there is something deeper than what you see. Just think, somebody in your family could have been diagnosed with cancer for the third time, just like mine, which would be a LOT worse than losing a snowglobe or ornaments. I'm also sorry to hear about your family member being in a car crash. Don't worry, they will recover. I have known many people who were in car crashes and they all have recovered :) Also, don't be crying that you have something stolen. I know I might sound non-sympathetic, but there are worse things in life. Think about the good health you have, and you are lucky to have a family and a home to live in. There are many kids who would love to be in your shoes for a day, even if these things go wrong to them. This holiday season, don't think of the things that you don't have, think of the things that you DO have. Think of how lucky you are to have these things. Hey, you could always but new ornaments or a snowglobe. You can't just go out there and buy health! If you ever need somebody to talk to, call upon me through PM. I have been told I'm really good at helping people through tough times, since I have so much experience :(.

I remember once I wanted this really cool snowglobe my mom was like IF YOU TOUCH THAT I will get you (sorry for caps) I put it down right away.and once my dad burnt the chicken we had to eat something else lol!

I am so sorry! Don't worry, I am having just as stinky as a Christmas. My sister is 4 and today she came home from her 4 day hospital visit. She is on steroids and 3 other medicines! I am sorry again! We are in this together Funster!

hey man remember this christmas is about ornaments on a tree or gifts, its about family. its about giving back to those who give you so much. one day you may look back on this and smile a little. i realize that wont be for awhile, but still. try to think of the good times not the bad. all will work out in the end.
