I know there are many, many, many that applied to be a CL for the first time on December 1st. I know that many folks have gotten the questions and responded to them. Has anyone who applied for the first time on December 1 been made a CL yet?

Tandrew, I'm sure they were totally swamped on Dec. 1st. I had a feeling that it would take quite sometime for them to get to announcing new CL's. I really wonder how many hundred people applied on Dec. 1st! I would imagine that it won't be too, too much longer before some start hearing...

I did know that they had been responding to the applications they had received earlier in the year recently.....and you know, I just put things together...

Guess they are working through the CL apps. in the order in which they were received. Which means they need to get through October's before beginning on those turned in recently....makes sense!

Yes GrizzlyJones, I knew of all of these folks but, I believe that all of them applied to be CL's well before December 1st....back when they were still accepting applications.:xmas33:

I was most interested in those who applied on December 1st and later. So, as far as any of us know--everyone who applied on December 1st (or later) is still waiting (and that means waiting for a response from the questions sent)

Why yes, it is important one way or another to be kind and nice---even if you do hear back and they tell you no. Nice is the very best way to be. If they do not choose a person as a CL, they will have their reasons!

I applied on dec 1st and got my questions almost right away but I have not got answer back after turning in the questions.
I am worried I failed the answers!!! I keep checking email. I am glad to knw there are others in the same boat.

Don't worry. I talked to some staff and they got a TON of applications. I applied also on the first and I think I did very well, but you never know. Bilbo, if you have not gotten your questions yet then try using the contact us button and talk to them about it or just apply again. Goog luck to all!!

That is one of the main reasons I started this thread---just to make sure we all knew that ALL of us who have recently applied are still waiting!:xmas11:

I'd say that all of us who got the questions and sent in the replies are still in the waiting mode. It's bound to be a while yet. I still have not heard of anyone who applied December 1st or later that has been made a CL yet. And, those who have recently been made CL's seem to have applied BEFORE they stopped accepting CL applications. That means the most recent batch of CL's had to wait almost 2 months before hearing.:xmas35: Don't panic though....I don't think we'll have to wait that long!

I really think VMK staff takes this seriously and wants to take the time to make sure they are really choosing the right folks. They have given us all these new items which are eating up the time of staff members. Once things die down a bit (have you noticed the number on lately is always over 3500?), I have a feeling they'll start looking at all the answers to those questions.:xmas11: Or, maybe they are waiting to give out really nice Christmas presents!

Did you use an AOL email address? If so, that's why.

I applied December 1st also. I got questions right away, and answered them well I believe. I am not worried. I know they have a lot of applications to go through. Also, whichever way they decide, I will still try to help other players and set a good example. And that is the point of it all. Waiting without knowing is a pain, but it's not like I am waiting to do something different. It's not like I am working hard being helpful until being chosen. If they choose me, I will still just help ppl.

Being a community leader I can say that after you have received you questions and sent them back, it can take a while for you to know. It took me approximately 4 weeks until I heard anything and then, I didn't receive any notice. Just one day after entering VMK, things were weird and I kept getting all these messages from friends congratulating me. It wasn't until I went to get my credits from the first of many NPC that my title was there. If your internet carrier is AOL, you might want to switch to another. I had to do that. As soon as I switched carriers, it happened. So, it can take a while. Remember, there were a lot of people who wanted to apply on December 1st. :xmas24:

i applied to be a CL for the first time on the 1st of December, (i joined VMK on October). i think it was on December 6 ( Dec.7 if it was my time zone) i received an email from VMK that i got accepted as a CL.

the staff is just probably busy and with the many applications they received, it might take some time before they email you all back. just be patient. :)

I sent my app. on the 1st, didn't get my questions until the 2nd, answered them with great confidence, and am still waiting.

I do not really care how long it takes to get accepted, I can be patient.

Ok, it does seem as if some have been made CL. I have talked with some (thanks to this thread...) and found that the few who did apply on Dec. 1st for the first time did so as soon as available in the am and then answered questions right away--within an hour or so.

I suppose that means they are now working on the new ones now. Again though, don't be surprised if this takes time!

Congratulations to all that are CL's and to those of you who have not spent enough time on or didn't answer the questions correctly...don't worry, you'll learn more as time goes on. To all of you who have applied and are waiting..continue your patience! Enjoy all of the new things they have given to us....

Right now, I am just trying to help players, and a good place is VMK Staff's Rvier Ride. I helped at the start, and in a couple other rooms. I also helped out at the end. Remember, while you are waiting for your responce, be sure to be helpful, because I have heard of some CL's who sent there questions in and acted very mature and VMK made them CL's. Remember normal players, be helpful to everyone who needs it :)

Yes the staff river ride... better get there before the angry mob of CL's get there though! I applied on december first too, and I got my questions about 30 seconds after. (no problem with time in kingdom, as I am a day 1er) then I sent my questions in and I am still waiting 40 days later!
well I hope to be a community leader by the 16 of febuary (:) my birthday):)
but yes they probably recived bags and bags of apps and as far as I have heard, there is only 1 or 2 staff doing them. Prepare to wait!

I got an e-mail, but I've talked to some other CLs and they said they just logged into VMK one day and got the surprise; I suppose it depends on your spam filter and mail service provider.

I thought they were easy too. I didn't apply til like the 10th so I'm still waiting. We'll see. But yeah, they could have at least TRIED to challenge us.

Well, I'm glad to hear that they seem to really be moving through those new applications---and I understand that they have closed applications again until a future date.
