I log in no problem,
when I land I last about 3 seconds before I get the error that Internet Explorer needs to shut down...
I hit the debug button, the game closes. I relog in , same thing.

Any ideas of what I can do?
Now I'm running four multiplayer online games and this is the only one that's giving me grief.

I decided to give up, since everything else in my computer runs fine..I'm a bit afraid that if I mess around too much I'll get vmk running and mess up the other three ( and my family would not be impressed Lol),
I figured it must be them, or hope so.
I'll send them an email. You should too, the more of us the merrier. :)

I'd have two suggestions:

Won, before you start the game, clear your internet cache.

Too, also before you start the game, increase the size of your internet cache. I know that clearing it as above will probably do, but clearing the cache won't clear Cookies or Objects. I suggest that you increase the maximum size of your internet cache by 100 meg, that way you know that there is enough room or the game.

Yesterday's version of the game took a bit over 60 meg, and I'm sure that later versions will be larger.

I guess that explains why my comp had such a hard time loading it. 60 MB is the kind of thing that would take me 4 mins to download.

Yeah I did that, all the standard stuff, cleared everything out, defragged, chkdsk/f, ran adaware...
I made sure the debugger worked, still nothing.
It loads fast for me, I think it's a script issue of some sort.
I'm thinking I'll do an IE repair.

My cache is fine...virtual memory too.

Too, also before you start the game...

Hahaha. Won, too. I don't know why, but that made me giggle so much.

okay, here's something else to try:
Run it under Firefox. that's what I had to do to get it to work the first day. I did get it working in IE after that.

If you run it under Firefox, check the cache settings for it: I'm pretty sure that the default cache is only 50 meg, which is a bit too small for VMK.

Okay, I'll try increasing my cache again....I know I increased for toontown but maybe I've done a reformat since..hehe.
Then I'll give firefox a whirl...although I am starting to wonder if it's worth it with all the popups and trojans people are yakking about. :o

Increased my cache, yes it was quite small, I forgot to reset it...so I merrily went off to try and VMK is closed!
I'll try tomorrow, I hope that was it. :)

Nope that wasn't it, didn't help a bit.
I might give firefox a try. **sigh**

Hey, you know what's strange? A bunch of IE users are having all these problems, while I don't... probably because I use Firefox. Could it be the browser causing the problem?

It could very well be. There's been a lot of discussions around here about that. Let's hope they can take care of the problem with the game system when it opens officially.

We have two computers here, there's one in the family room and one in the basement.
This one here in the family room is the one I use 99% of the time, near the kitchen Lol....the gaming machine is downstairs and VMK works on that one, which is a tad slower.

It is IE that's encountering a problem, but I can't find a thing wrong here.
I'll just play it downstairs when I get the chance , and my son likes the one downstairs too.

So I give up...although I was reading about firefox..
can I download and not set it as default easily, like just in case I can go back to IE?

Yes, during the install Firefox will ask you if you want it as the default browser.

I always try to use Firefox on sites that I'm not sure of, or that I know are terrible for pop-ups and garbage. Security on Firefox can be set up a lot tighter than IE.

Well I went and got firefox...I was a bit apprehensive because I used to run Mozilla on Linux and I hated it Lol.
Anywho it looks like either I have a piece of dying hardware or a virus ( I did have one that I thought I caught in time about a month ago since everything has been running fine) because when I went to run VMK I got a very familiar message : firefox.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close!!!!
Ahhhhh.
At least it runs downstairs.
I'm keeping firefox in here too, I like it. :D
Thanks for the help! :D

I have done all the suggestions...Increase the cache...reinstalled shockwave, and even reinstalled firefox. I have tried to run this game on every browswer...Firefox, IE, Avant, and Netscape. 3 seconds into the game and blamo it freezes and states that "browswer has encountered a problem and needs to shut down" Why? Doesn't make sense....

ANyone else got suggestions...

Hey guys I think I have found out how to fix this....see below..it's working for me now...

Try these steps and see if it does not work for you.

Uninstall shockwave from Control Panel add and remove programs.

You will have to go to macromedia to download the uninstaller program for Flash.

Then download onto your desktop the full version of shockwave at www.macromedia.com and also flash. Restart the computer. Install the new things you just downloaded.

Now if this will not work do this... goto www.directx.com and download the newest version of direct x which should be c.

Also, update (this may sound strange) your audio card. I just did this and it is working for me....

Let me know if this works...

Try using IE just for VMK

I also had this problem, and i believe it might have somthing to do with either your firewall or antivirus program, i have norton antivirus and it blocks way to much of what i want, the only way i found to get it to work was to create a new log in user on my computer and it worked. Just a suggestion-Good luck
