View Full Version : Harry Potter was amazing beyond WORDS!! (**May contain SPOILERS**)
Taryn 11-18-2005, 11:29 AM Ok you guys. I am in shock. Honestly, I am sitting here, quivering over how ******** AMAZING Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was! I just got out of the midnight showing...oh gosh. I don't even LIKE the movies (The books are the best things in the world, though), and I only go to the midnight showings so I can party Harry Potter style in line...but OMG, this movie was amazing! Honestly. I won't say specific bits, because I don't want the movie spoiled for anyone...but trust me, if you aren't planning on seeing Harry Potter, SEE IT ANYWAYS. I think I like it almost as much as the book, which is kind of a miracle. I'm sorry I'm rambling...it's 3:30 in the morning, and I'm a bit jittery from the No-Doze pill I took 3 hours ago....200 mgs of caffiene is a little much for a girl who hardly ever even drinks Coke, and has never had coffee in her life, lol! Anyways, for those of you who have seen it: What did you think?!?! Did you LOVE it?!?!?!
F0REVERL0ST 11-18-2005, 12:29 PM Wow! So it was really that good? I cannot wait to see it. :D

TacoManTacoMan2 11-18-2005, 12:36 PM g2g off to see Harry Potter
Oranges 11-18-2005, 12:37 PM When I read the "Riddle House" chapter in the book, I was terrified....lol...

Taryn 11-18-2005, 12:38 PM When I read the "Riddle House" chapter in the book, I was terrified....lol...
Oh man, the Riddle House scene in the very beginning made me cry, and then I cried the entire way though the movie, LOL! It was SO GOOD!
Oranges 11-18-2005, 12:39 PM The mermaids look really scary too! LOL!
I hate snakes, so if they put Nagini into the movie, I'd probably faint..
Taryn 11-18-2005, 12:40 PM The mermaids look really scary too! LOL!
Omg, yeah they were!!
And I think as someone said before...Voldemort was terrifying as the infant thing.
Oranges 11-18-2005, 12:41 PM Was that when Wormtail was carrying him in that graveyard?
nicedolphin 11-18-2005, 12:42 PM really!! *covers eyes*
Taryn 11-18-2005, 12:46 PM Was that when Wormtail was carrying him in that graveyard?
ACK, yes! Once he was reborn, he wasn't *quite* as terrifying (Don't get me wrong, reborn Voldemort was CREEPY as heck!)...but as that crouched thing....uuuuuuuuuuuurg *shudders*
What with Dobby and the Werewolf, I was really expecting Voldemort to be done really stupidly, lol.
melizza 11-18-2005, 12:46 PM i really want to see that movie. its been on showing in the theaters for 3 days now here in my place, but im just so busy with school lately. i've seen like every clip (there are a lot) of the GOF movie on the net, judging from those, it should be really awesome... lol.the ferret scene was really funny.

it came out in the 16th here in my country. its now the 18th, so that makes it 3 days already.
Taryn 11-18-2005, 01:09 PM it came out in the 16th here in my country. its now the 18th, so that makes it 3 days already.
Oh, huh. I was about disagree with you again when I decided to check it out- and you're right, it DID come out the 16th in the Philippines! Sorry for that :Embar:.... Was it in English? Or was it dubbed into your language?
Xucid 11-18-2005, 01:28 PM im soooo tired and i have to go to school but the movie was well worth it.
Wiggins 11-18-2005, 01:29 PM The mermaids look really scary too! LOL!
I hate snakes, so if they put Nagini into the movie, I'd probably faint..
Yeah snakes scare the hogwarts out of me but Nagini was only in the beginning. (not at all in the grave yard scene at the end like in the book) So the snake is right at the very, very beginning. Like the opening shot of the movie if I remember correctly and then again in the house for a little bit but it wasn't too scary. (and this is coming from someone who has to look away from the screen at the snake part in Honey I Shrunk the Audience)
i cant wait to see it myself. think i am going on monday. i am a big harry potter fan
melizza 11-18-2005, 02:30 PM Oh, huh. I was about disagree with you again when I decided to check it out- and you're right, it DID come out the 16th in the Philippines! Sorry for that :Embar:.... Was it in English? Or was it dubbed into your language?
its in english. Around here, it is uncommon for an english movie to be dubbed into our local language. English is like one of the major language in my country.
SingingJoJo 11-18-2005, 02:35 PM I can't wait to see it, I've seen some of the previews and it looks AWESOME!! I think I am going to see it this weekend.
thetitan13 11-18-2005, 03:31 PM !!!!!!WARNING I TALK ABOUT SEVERAL SPOILERS IN THE POST BELOW!!!!!!
AGAIN! SPOILER WARNING!
I saw it last night at midnight as well. After drinking two large Cokes I was up and running and ready to see my favorite book in the series as a movie.
The first scene, at the Riddle House was great. It was perfectly spooky and the old man was just as I imagined him in my mind. I do wish that the chair has spun around so we see Harry like in his dream...but you can't have it all :)
I was a bit dissapointed by the World Cup. It was great and all, especially at the end with Death Eaters, but I would have liked to see some Quittich.
Hogwarts was awesome as always. The Durmstrang's and the Beauxbaxtons's arrivals were nice, although I did feel that making them all boys school and an all girl's school was odd.
Dumbledore was odd in the movie. He yelled to much and I did not like his clothes. The guys a good actor, it's more of the director's fault for making him yell so much.
All 3 tasks were great. I loved the chase scene with the dragon, it was awesome. The underwater scene, I did not feel the merpeople were evil enough, but besides that great. Although the creatures were gone from the maze, evil plants and fog did the trick just as well.
The graveyard scene was awesome. Voldemort's return is just how it should be. The actor who played Voldemort was a little strange, but he did a pretty good job. I just think we would have looked more evil with his hood up.
The humor in this movie was -awesome-. Some of my favorite lines include:
"Oh my God! I killed Harry Potter!"
The scene with Hermione as a messenger.
"They were walking, you know how I like it when they walk.."
:D
SplashtheAlien 11-18-2005, 03:41 PM i get to see it in a private showing tomorrow at 9
no one else can come in unless you preordered from school

MissAmber 11-18-2005, 10:40 PM O.M.G....
THAT MOVIE WAS SOOOOO GOOD!
I can't even explain this in words... it was.. amazing! I want to watch it over and over and over.. omg! I just can't stop saying omg! omg LOL
I left to go see it right when we got home from school at 12:30 (yeah, we had an early dismissal :]) And got back home around 4:00. The whole time I bit all of my nails, and I even spilt my popcorn all over the place.. it was nerve-racking at some points!

I'm sorry this is off topic but, MissAmber! I LOVE that sig :)
Oathkeeper 11-19-2005, 10:31 PM Oh my gosh the movie was SO AWESOME! I saw it yesterday, and it... WAS SO GOOD. It was hilarious! Though, the ferret scene, which IMO is the funniest in the book series so far, was a bit dissapointing, but oh well. The lack of classes was a bit strange. I mean, it's a nice cut to make so the movie isn't long and tedious, but without them people that have never read the books probably had no idea what that place was.. Did they even mention that Hogwarts was a school? Actually... did they even say who Lord Voldemort is?
.. I LOVED THE MOVIE! I'm going over to mugglenet now to watch some trailers and browse through some threads on the movie..
Annientink 11-19-2005, 10:33 PM Yay! I am going to go see it in IMAX( 3D) next week! I am so excited! I heard so many good reviews from on here ;) I can't wait.

I thought the lack of classes and stuff was very strange too. heh
The effects were amazing, but they skipped too much xD Very good though!!
StarLavender 11-19-2005, 10:41 PM Amazing! The place was full! There were clapping like crazy people! Lol. I came as Hermionie. There was also a Hagrid, a Harry, a Draco, and five random students.

When Voldemort was :shifty: - whispers - reborn... was he in that creepy baby-like form that he was in the book? - unwhisper -
DarthTimmy 11-20-2005, 12:33 AM I was a bit dissapointed by the World Cup.
:D
I was very disapointed too. I remember when I was reading the book there was a good 30 pages about it. In the movie it went by in about a minute. But then again if they had every detail in the movie, as in the book. The movie would be 20 hours long.
Oathkeeper 11-20-2005, 12:45 AM the main reason people didn't like the first two movies was because of the long, boring Qudditch scenes which no one wanted to watch besides obssesed Harry Potter fans. At least I read that somewhere, and now when I watch those parts I can agree. I can't even watch the first two movies without skipping like half the movie, but the last two are sooo good..
Hopefully movie 4 can come to dvd soon because I don't like spending all my money on movie tickets. I have plans to see it again, but I just don't want them to wait until Christmas 2006 to release the movie to DVD.

Mauhaha, I loooove working at a theater!! Next week, once people aren't all rabit over it anymore, I'm planning on seeing it once every few days until it closes :D:D:D:D:D:D:D!
And yeah, I agree, I'm glad they cut most of the quidditch out. It was cool in the beginning of the first movie, when it was this cool, new thing...but it got old. However, I hope they put Quidditch back into the 5th one, because Luna's commentary is SO FUNNY!!

Yes well.. I'm supporting the movie and helping them pay to make the next one. Because of me, they shall have a super cool movie and enough money to afford it! :) Wait, I confused myself.
YES! Luna is like my favorite character in the books, so I really hope they don't cut her.
Mmmm... by the way, Luna's commentary is in the 6th book. ;)

Yes but it was pretty violent and they always cut out the small parts but i give it a 5 out of 5 great movie 200x better than the thrid.
kidkid9393 11-20-2005, 03:20 AM I cant wait i cant wait i am going on monday yayayayayayayayayayayyay
Coolchewbaca 11-20-2005, 03:22 AM What with Dobby and the Werewolf, I was really expecting Voldemort to be done really stupidly, lol. You know, that would be funny if Dobby WERE a werewolf imagine: a house-wolf
Oranges 11-20-2005, 02:41 PM I cannot wait to go see it!! How well did they produce the Dark Mark and how well did they really bring the floating Muggles to life?
lostfanatic 11-20-2005, 05:12 PM I saw it yesterday and i was amazed. it is truly the best Harry Potter movie yet. the dragons and the merpeople were so real and awesome. it was also funnier than the last Harry Potters. there are just so many classic quotes in this movie that have nothing to do with anything. i so need to see this movie again.
DFreak1989 11-20-2005, 05:15 PM OMG ******* AMAZING! We saw it on the IMAX screen, Harry's nose was big enough for me and my four friends to fit in comfortably. It was so amazing and Voldemort looked so cool!
nintendogsluver 11-20-2005, 05:16 PM u ppl saw it u are so lucky im going to see it next week omg lucky ppl in the world
SkoolHata 11-20-2005, 05:17 PM I saw the movie 1st day.Very good, never as good as the book though!
skl02134 11-20-2005, 05:27 PM i saw it last night, it was good, but why did they have to take so many scenes out of it. they dont show fred and george placing that bet, they dont show the whole entire quiddich match and those binoculars!! i think it could have been better if they added more detail to it too. it was barely even scary. all i could here was ppl laughing at all of the scenes. and voldemort isn't that scary ( his nose is really weird looking though). lol
it wasnt even close to as good as the book
Saw the movie with a few friends after practice on Friday. I've never read a Harry Potter book in my life, so the end was a big shocker for me. By the end me and my friend were balling. Most likely we were the only two in the whole theatre crying, and everyone else just wanted to throw stuff at us for it. I had been planning to do a bit of partying after, but I was way too scared to drive alone at night after watching the Goblet of Fire. I made the boyfriend and his friend come get me and drive my car home lol.
I thought these were little kiddie movies, but after this I'll be having nightmares for the longest time.
I was very disapointed too. I remember when I was reading the book there was a good 30 pages about it. In the movie it went by in about a minute. But then again if they had every detail in the movie, as in the book. The movie would be 20 hours long.
he he he. I would rather have it 20 hours long... They should have added the animals and stuff in the mazes though. also they should have had the lessons that they take. oh and SPEW. They didn't have that.
skl02134 11-20-2005, 05:40 PM he he he. I would rather have it 20 hours long... They should have added the animals and stuff in the mazes though. also they should have had the lessons that they take. oh and SPEW. They didn't have that.
i know, what happened to spew???
WDWFutureGirl 11-20-2005, 06:16 PM I Am off to see Harry Potter..AGAIN :D
LittleBubbles 11-20-2005, 06:43 PM he he he. I would rather have it 20 hours long... They should have added the animals and stuff in the mazes though. also they should have had the lessons that they take. oh and SPEW. They didn't have that.
omg I forgot about SPEW xD
I wish we could have seen Dudley's tounge get huge...that would've been fun :)
I liked how they made it PG13 because they were allowed to put in the jokes that little kids wouldn't understand, and were able to let the characters act more serious and shtuff....
Loved the scene when Ron and Harry were talking about getting dates....ahhh good scene with Snape ;)
WDWFutureGirl 11-20-2005, 06:47 PM I liked how they made it PG13 because they were allowed to put in the jokes that little kids wouldn't understand, and were able to let the characters act more serious and shtuff.
But many kids would not get to see it..duh
Unlucky 11-20-2005, 11:03 PM i saw it yesterday! it was... THE BEST MOVIE EVER!!! it was better than the others! i wish they have shown the quititch match. i wanted to see the veela! but the part in the graveyard near the end SCARED ME TO DEATH!!! but now i know why its PG-13. hee hee. the dancing part was FUNNY!!!my mom noticed that one of the weasley twins looks better than the other. why did they take out Winky? i wanted to see her! i was about to cry near the end of the movie after the maze. that was sad though...
is it me or does Draco look hot in this movie?
PowerGirl 11-20-2005, 11:23 PM The movie kind of skipped around a bit, to the beginning of the Quidditch Cup, back to the tent, Hogwarts Express, it kept skipping drastically.
When the movie ended, I walked out of the theater enchanted, amazed, and speechless. My mouth was open, thoughts were swirling in my head, scenes replaying over and over again. I felt weightless, it was amazing, I could hardly feel myself getting into the car.
In regualar words it Amazed me Why in the world did it have to end??? I practically wanted to spend my whole life in the theater, watching the movie screen and seeing the movie just roll along. If you haven't read the fourth book or seen the movie, don't highlight the blank. It's in white to protect secrets.
The director made the movie seem enchanting, I couldn't feel myself even reaching for the popcorn ( )
I LOVED it
The sad part, it made me cry, was when Cedric's dad found out he was dead. He was screaming, howling, it made me cry, HARD my friend (she had invited me to go to the movie in the first place) was looking at me. I couldn't help it.
I got hysterical when Harry waited for Cedric to come grab the cup at the same time. I was whisper-screaming: "Don't do it Harry! Don't wait for Cedric!"
The movie was amazing
Edit (P.S)
Voldemort was FUNNY looking. My friend and I were giggling when Voldemort was dueling Harry. Sorry peoples, he was so funny!
PowerGirl 11-20-2005, 11:26 PM I was very disapointed too. I remember when I was reading the book there was a good 30 pages about it. In the movie it went by in about a minute. But then again if they had every detail in the movie, as in the book. The movie would be 20 hours long.
I wouldn't mind if it was 20 hours long.
bragoandcheri 11-20-2005, 11:29 PM The movie was probably one of the best of the Harry Potter films but really it is overrated (Please no bad rep for this comment)
The movie was painful to me since it was so long and there were young boys next to me who didn't even know who the caretaker for the Riddle house was...
clydeguy 11-20-2005, 11:37 PM I see some good points brought up for this movie. But, I can't believe they didn't show some of these things:
-Accio(which I HAVE been pronouncing wrong :)) Lessons
-The Cruccio(sp?) spell profromed on Harry
-THE SPHINX!!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY CUT THE SPHINX!!!! lol; I am serious! The Sphinx was so cool :(
bragoandcheri 11-21-2005, 02:12 AM I see some good points brought up for this movie. But, I can't believe they didn't show some of these things:

-The Cruccio(sp?) spell profromed on Harry
-THE SPHINX!!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY CUT THE SPHINX!!!! lol; I am serious! The Sphinx was so cool :(
Actually they showed Harry performing the accio spell but not practicing it...
And the crucio curse was used on him but only for a brief time...
NixPoopyPants 11-21-2005, 02:18 AM you know what is sad?
is that people are going to get an illegal coppy to see it
LittleBubbles 11-21-2005, 05:38 PM Actually they showed Harry performing the accio spell but not practicing it...
And the crucio curse was used on him but only for a brief time...
I personally wanted to watch Moody (the imposter ;)) use the imperious curse on everyone...
and in You-Know-Who's -looks behind back- speech, they cut out my favorite line...
"I was less than a spirit, less then the meanest ghost! But still, I was alive..."
heh heh.
KoolKylie 11-21-2005, 05:42 PM OH MY GOSH! I just saw that movie yesterday! UNBELIEVABLE! The graveyard part scared me a little bit tho... lol
Really really great movie if u haven't seen it, go see it now! :D
KoolKylie 11-21-2005, 05:45 PM I see some good points brought up for this movie. But, I can't believe they didn't show some of these things:
-Accio(which I HAVE been pronouncing wrong :)) Lessons

-THE SPHINX!!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY CUT THE SPHINX!!!! lol; I am serious! The Sphinx was so cool :(
Sorry for double post, but I totally agree with u! They also cut out the huge spider at the end of the maze (didn't mind that tho! lol) I really wanted to see how they would do the Sphinx :( Oh well
snowegoof 11-21-2005, 05:50 PM oh gosh if u ppl were scared i am going to be triple as scared LOL
of course you would, its rated PG-13, which i am kind of shocked about
KoolKylie 11-21-2005, 05:54 PM I know i am just as shocked! good thing i just turned 13 LOL :D
Another thing, did u notice that Cho was only mentioned in the 4th Harry Potter movie? Wasn't she in the 2nd and 3rd in the book???
LittleBubbles 11-21-2005, 05:59 PM of course you would, its rated PG-13, which i am kind of shocked about
as my Dad said, they may have been thinking that they wanted to stay with their audience that they had when it first came out--like 9 years olds started seeing it, and now those nine year olds are 13.
I am glad they made it PG 13 because they were allowed to make it scarier, let the characters express anger by cursing, and the idea of death would scare little kids, so yeah. PG13 was perfect for this movie. heh
I surprisingly wasn't scared at all :D
KoolKylie 11-21-2005, 06:01 PM Heck I was scared... lol Just at the end tho :)
snowegoof 11-21-2005, 06:02 PM I know i am just as shocked! good thing i just turned 13 LOL :D
my parents let me watch PG-13 movies by myself because i know they are just movies and that they are not real- also, i get alot of jokes because my closest sibling is 10 years older than me. every person in my family is an adult exept me and my neice. (yes, i am an aunt already) when i watch rated R movies, my parents make me go in a different room at the very violent parts.

I AM WARNING YOU
Oh well if you say so
Cedric Diggory
La_Carlotta 11-21-2005, 08:18 PM OMG I just saw the movie yesterday... I loved it. It's now my favorite movie... I might go see it again sometime with my mom or someone. Pleh. My excuse to go see it again. ;P
Me and my dad went to see it in an IMAX Theater, where you get to sort of look up at this really big screen and watch it. It was really totally freaky cool, because it looked like you were acually there. . . And things would like fall ontop of you. It was so funny. Yet so very wicked cool.
Pleh. Made me dizzy when we first started watching it though. ;P
bunnygoogles 11-21-2005, 08:21 PM i cant wait to see it me and my dad are freaks over it. but i like bringing friends along for some reason it makes it more fun/less scary ?
WDWFutureGirl 11-23-2005, 07:49 PM Who ever gave me a bad rep...Goodness sake it was just a joke..do you want people to know who dies at first glance ?

lol!
Bell Fan 11-25-2005, 01:59 AM This was a awesome movie and i recommend this to everyone. To me, Cedric dying added a twist of drama. Victor Krum is a cool guy but Ron is so JEALOUS! Cho Chang is so mean because she regected Harry to the ball.
This is just my opinion and some actually happened. Plz feel free what you think about the movie.
Shanaroonie 11-25-2005, 02:02 AM was it good, i am going to see it soon! so what was it, scary, good, happy, what?
