From the website:

How can I become a Community Leader?

Community Leaders are experienced and enthusiastic Players, who help out. They have a special badge in their profile, and sometimes have extra rights in the game. If you've been playing VMK for a while and you have a clean record (no bans!), maybe you could become our next Community Leader. Read up on the VMK Values first, then apply

I might. It would be fun. I work at two jobs, though, so I'd have to see how much time it would require. Are there responsabilities (do you think)?

I think they just help by answering questions, setting an example, asking people being rude to stop, etc. I don't think it's the type of thing like "You must be on VMK this many hours per week and you must do this and this blah blah blah".

Sounds great. I might apply after I get the full hang of everything. There is a lot of rudeness in the game from some folks which really sours things in such a great environment like VMK. Thanks for the heads up about this Cerise.

Really? =\
Everyone I have encountered has been really nice and friendly, at least the ones I've talked to. Plus I've met a bunch of people from here which is fun!

Saddening. I hope I don't run into too many, though I know it is inevitable.

I know what you mean, Coke Music is probably the worst for rude people.

No one has any respect for other users, I can't wait until it opens, I'm so anxious to see this!!

PS- 184... 183... :D

eek, coke music. I've only played twice and both times everyone I met was so rude, it completely turned me off to the entire thing.

I too have seen some very rude people, every day it is open it seems to get worse. But why should this be any different than any other online game. It sure happens a lot in TT, easier to ignore these people or report them if they are really bad.
Remember we have to deal with rude people everywhere, bank, grocery store, etc. So better just not to sink to thier level and move on to a different placein the game. :)

I was in SillyPrincess's room yesterday when two guys happened into the area. They were telling each other to "Get out!" and after SillyPrincess greeted them nicely, one started in on her with "He thinks you're ugly!" and it got worse between them. Then it was discovered that they were brothers and having an online fight! Really, it took a lot of the fun out of everything. I know it's a game and we're all playing...but that is so uncalled for.

So another thing came to mind because of this. How many people boot other members just to be mean to them? If there is no valid reason or regulation for it, then booting people can probably be happening left and right and affecting people's standing in the game. That's really a shame to be happening. :(

I applied, but I'm not sure my application went in though... my application was long, too...

But yeah, there are some rude people on VMK. For instance, you don't go around saying the word 'die' just because it's not in the filter (surprise, surprise). You don't go around saying 'let's get it on' either (because that also get pasts the filter... that and 'who wants to get it on?', which is sick). It's just very strange what sort of things people do to ruin games.

Here's hoping I'm accepted, as well as the rest of you!

BTW, hi, all, I'm new here.

Welcome Lord Turbine! :)

Here's hoping that the actions of others (and the random bouncing just for the fun of it) don't ruin it for all and maybe some new community leaders can be accepted.

Oh! And I discovered something new today! People are walking up to others and waving in their faces and chatting that they are punching them, or slapping them or something to that effect! :(

Yea I applied yesterday but came up with an error.

I talked to a few Cast Members about the bug in Application Process, and there said its no bug nor Error. But for now Community Leaders need a certain level of experience and CM_Roo and CM_Red both said that for now NO one is at that level yet. I asked them when it would be ready for applications, and they said thats not there main priority yet.

Grrr... No wonder it said I needed more time. What is this level anyways? Do you have to be some super person on this game? It makes sense so that a newbie can't apply but what about someone who plays constantly and knows the game like the back of their hand?

I'm sorry, if you are referring to my post then I have to say that your response was unnecessary and a bit hurtful.

I have tried to apply before but got the "error" message which was mentioned and then explained as VMK not taking people yet.

When I got this new message I thought maybe they were taking help now but that I hadn't spent enough time on VMK. therefore I chose to post that news.

I pride myself in reading the entire thread (provided it is not 100 pages long) BEFORE adding my 2 cents thank you very much!

pixel and pete, let up guys.. there just doesn't need to be "geesh, why didn't you read" posts.. there is no harm in an extra post just reaffirming what the others said..

let's make people feel welcome, not bit their heads off.

keep in mind, VMK has only been open less than a month. Maybe they want people with over a month of experience, maybe even more. Just keep playing and enjoying VMK, eventually, you may have enough experience.

But on that note, I really don't get how they are going to screen people efficiently. Community leaders are going to have to be seleced wisely, as they are an example. I am betting it will be no-one under 18, and probably people who have had no warnings. Then there will probably be a test period, like probationary.

Just my thoughts.

I think screening won't actually be that difficult. They've stated that ALL conversations are logged; so, if someone is applying for CL, it wouldn't be that hard to bring up their text and just skim it for evidence of friendliness, politeness, and helpfulness.

As for age, who knows. I've met 12 year olds who are mature, and I've met adults who are not. I would hope that how you present yourself would be more important than chronological age.

Also, for types of people, who knows? If I were looking for CL's for VMK, I personally would like a variety of gaming types:

- the enthusiastic game leader / entertainment provider: designs original and creative rooms for games, for entertainment shows

- the tour guide: wanders through the VMK, asking how everyone is doing, keeps a CL "presence" visible

- the "boring" type (i.e., ME, hint hint!): mature, polite, helpful, keeping behavior appropriate

Just my rampant speculation

I agree with you. I'm younger than 15 and older than 10. I've met 20-30 year old who are the most rude people you could ever imagine. I try to help people and they are like "Don't show them! Let them figure out for themself"

Oh and I like your CL varieties. I would be a tour guide

Just how exactly do you "apply"? Do you just email them or send in a form. I think it would be pretty sweet it I became one... not that they would ever except me. Is there an age limite to applying? Becasue you would be pretty supprised if you found out how old I am ;) ... Well maybe not. I'm not sure if I do or don't act my age. It all depends on the day and time of the day.

Ok back on topic:

P.S. Sorry if this question has already ben answered. I did not notice this topic had multiple pages.. :p

One way: on the front page of the VMK web site at the very bottom are a list of links, including "Contact us." One of the options will then be "Apply to be a community leader."

As far as I know, nobody has been able to actually send an application without it saying "Spend more time at VMK first," so I don't know if they are actually officially accepting applications yet.
