Hi everyone. I thought I should give some tips and hints to help out on the games. Because the Pirates game is by far the toughest because of the handling of the ship. I'm here to help you out.

Here's some tips:
Your ship is NOT a car. It is operated wind power. It can only go in one way. Pirate ships do not operate in reverse. This means you must lead your boat by clicking a point that is directly infront of the stern (the front of the boat). To manouver quickly, click a series of points by clicking the direction you want the boat to go. This way, you can make large sweeping turns, perfect for nailing an opponent.
Hit 'em hard, hit them fast. In order to hit an opponent, you must hit them with a cannonball. To do this, position your boat by having the side of your boat face their boat. Then double-click to fire. Here's the tip, whenever you can, always attack when the stern of their ship is poionted directly at you. This way, they are completely vulnerable. Destroy them as fast as you can before they adapt to a new position.
DO NOT be afraid to retreat! In most pirate games, ramming your ship against an opponents will destroy one of the ships. This is not the case in VMK. When you are side to side with another vessel, run like you've never run before. It is most unlikely that you will be able to beat an opponent on a one-on-one battle. Hence, you must attempt to out flank them. Try to put them in an akward postion and let the ball fly!
Use all of the area that you have. The maps that Disney has made are made for us. This means you should use all of the area. Like the bays and channels. Use them to your full advantage. I have found that sneaking around the channels and blocking off the small pasageways is the best way to destroy computer opponents.
Don't be afraid to talk with your other teammates! Communication is a HUGE factor. Especially when you've been sunk. Once that happens, you can help them out by warning them of incoming ships and bonuses. Don't be afraid of suppporting them either! Cheer on your team!
Start firing before they get to you! Trust in ship, you must have. Basically, your ship has sniper capabilities. SO when there's one ship gunning for you, start firing like mad. Hopefully, you get to unleash your entire aresenal before they reach you. If you don't, get out of there immediatly and try to do it again! The last thing you want to do is to play tag with a band of angry pirates! -Supermegaquack

The Ammunition and Repair reloads always appear in the same spots. They are worth guarding, both to keep your opponents from getting to them and to have them available to you. There are a few spots that have both Ammunition and Repair nearby.

I suspect that a 4-man team could secure all of the reloads with three ships, and the fourth could scoot around drawing fire and popping shots off on the enemy ships. If you can **** them in to using all of their ammo, and you have guards up, the enemy will he helpless! Arrgh! -Kid Bugs

Anyhoo, I hope this will make your experience in VMK more enjoyable! Please, if you've got any helpful tips, feel free to post them! Also, if you've got questions, just post here and I'll answer them in the best of my ablility!

Cheers!

Well said. One thing to add, if someone atttemps to do a one on one battle, wait for them to go to you, start the cannonball right before they come. Do not do this when 2 ships are hunting you down, or you will die.

I'll make a suggestion.

Just a correction...
Your ship is NOT moved by rowers, that would be Greek/Persian ships, not Pirate ships of the Carribean Era pirates. Those ships were powered by wind in your sails.

After level 1 the wind starts to play a greater effect on your ship.

Ok! I updated it again with all your tactics! Thanks for the generous tips guys!

Is that true, Rattlebones? It ACTUALLY gets harder on level 2? Darn, that stinks. Does it affect your vessel, or the cannonball range?

Heh, good to hear you've reached a new high, Treasure Hunter! I'll be looking forward to the next battle!

After you beat level 3 10 times, do you get a pin?

Another tip if you have a grey ship, not blown up completely, wait until an opposing person on the different team comes and blow up completely(Double click)! it does some damage to them.

I'm not entirely sure about that one. I've never got a chance to get to level 3, yet.

Heh, y'know, up until now, I've never even known why ships just explode like that. Kinda handy for a suicidal trick. I'll be sure to try that next!

Neat! I just blew my ship up on prupose because I wanted to lose, and it works like a charm! A small question though, does anyone know if there's "friendly fire" in this game? I've accidentally shot at my own crew many times, but I'm not sure if I'm doing any damage to them. Can you damage your own crew?

Lol! Yes you can! I have been both the unfortunate recipient and donor of friendly fire, and believe me... it hurts just as much!!!!!

Ergh... I might have torpedoed you by accident in the game then, heh.

Here's another question though, do any of you find the computer bots to be extremely unintelligent? I find that I have a better chance of sniping them from behind an island than rushing them. They don't move at all when you don't move. Quite odd. Great touch though! I feel special when I get a 15,000 average when I play this game. :D

I've been curious about the friendly fire myself. I've been shot (accidentally, I'm sure) by teammates quite a few times, but I don't remember ever losing health because of it. Sometimes it's hard to tell who is hitting who though (Level 3 Round 3, anyone?). :)

Here's an undocumented tip that I haven't seen posted anywhere yet. I don't want to come right out and say it, but you know how you can make your ship invisible for a few seconds in Level 2 by sailing through the moonlight? Well, you can accomplish the same effect once per total game (I don't think it's per round, unfortunately) in Level 3, but there's a different triggering mechanism. You have to click something, but it's outside of the main game window...

haahha i have the answers to your questions!!! BWAHAHAHAHAAHAHHA :P
(yes i'm weird)
In my experience(and i've had alot) i have never been hurt by friendly fire.
Secondly, the trigering mechanism is the skull mark you see on the bar in levels two and three. You can use this in rounds 1 and 2 of level three ONCE but you aren't able to use it in Round three of level 3.Use it when you can!!!it helps very much
Thirdly, I love the PotC game
Fourthly, if you aren't good at this game remember this: Thereis a spectacular prize at the end, a magic Pin of Invisibility. I use it quite often, even though you aeonly partialy invisible it is really fun ^_^

Hope i helped ye'

I have never been very good at this game, but I just now won two Level 1 games very easily. How?

Click on the "Start New Game" button. As soon as the roster comes up, immediately click to start the game. This will put you on one side with a Pirateship vs. a team of two Pirateships. Use the strategies from here such as hiding around cove corners and such, destroy the enemy ships, and you've got yourself an easy game! As long as you get a lot of hits on the enemy ships, you can even give yourself up to them to get to the next level quickly and still make enough points for you to come out the winner.

Whee!
