Well, I logged into VMK today and realized that there was a contest for celebration. I decided to spruce up my room to make it look as party-like as I could. Then I tried naming it, "Party Castle!" Then the '!' started flashing red. I was wondering what that was all about so I tried to type it in the chat box. It turned out as '###'. Does anyone know where the '!' went?

Bizarre...just thinking back to the time when they removed all punctuation for several days makes me cringe. Hopefully this is not a reversal of the previous reversal's revearsal...punctuation can be such a slippery slope.

I'm curious what happens to the magic spell words since they all end in "!" as far as I know. Will it still let you type these out today and activate the magic pins? Perhaps the "!" is defined as part of the word. If that's the case and these words still work, I propose that we all end our exclamatory statements with the alternate punctuation, "Spooky!" for the time being. :) Note that you may want to remove your Invisibility pin if this becomes annoying at some point.

I'm also frustrated with the banning of !!!!!! (or in the case of VMK, !!)

I've also noticed, and forgive me if this has been mentioned ad nauseum in other threads, that parentheses are no longer allowed either. Which means having to go into the menu to select a smiley in addition to now having to go into the menu to select a spell (which for me still chooses a different one than I click every now and then)

I really wish they were back. I mean it brings more life to the game. When I was saying Bye to a friend once its like it was Dull, boring. I said Bye, She said Bye See you later have fun. And when we are saying Hello. I sometimes like to say Hey!! To show excitement that im happy to see my friends. At least we can use periods, question marks, and I think commas.

Maybe Disney doesn't believe in ! anymore. Maybe in the future we shall all be monotone and have pale white skin and look dead. Is that the future Madame Leota sees? Or is the world just going crazy? Imagine what Goofy must be doing by now... O.o Well at least I can still ask questions, or can I...?

Not only has VMK removed the ability to express ourselves using smilies, but they've taken away our ability to avoid typing like a first grader. We can't use contractions. How crazy is that?! What's wrong with saying "wasn't" and "wouldn't"?? I'm sorry, but that really stresses me out. I'm not comfortable with typing on VMK anymore, because I can't type like I normally do. Is it so wrong to use long words? Just because it's targeted towards 8-14 year olds, doesn't mean they're not intelligent... Why can't we say accidentally? I sound like such an idiot when I say "I not on purpose got up." Is it because they don't want people to get up and grab a dictionary, or maybe have to look it up on Dictionary.com? Just because a word is long, doesn't mean that an 8-14 year doesn't know what it means.... And if they don't know what it means, it doesn't hurt to ask. I wish they wouldn't keep words out of the dictionary just because they don't want people to hurt their pride. This is my honest opinion on the subject, but I truly hope I didn't offend anyone with this, and if I did, I apologize, and that was not my intention whatsoever. :cat1:

I agree...I've been using big words since I was real young (I was using "enormous" and "gigantic" and other quite big words when I was 3) and the dictionary feels quite limiting to me. Luckily though, we have these forums where we can express ourselves a bit more intelligently (btw, another word you can't say on VMK).

(lol, My friend noticed my change of clothing and I told him that it was for my game show. He tried to tell me that I looked "smart", but it came out as ### and he eventually said that my outfit made me look like I know things, lol. This dictionary is so ridiculous!(yet another word that isn't allowed!))
