Recently, I've began to notice ancient (I mean real ancient) topics being revived. While I know we encourage fellow members to use the search button, I really think something ought to be done. Perhaps a 60-day no revival rule? Like if a topic hasn't been posted in for 60 days, no one can post in that topic anymore. Anyways, I'd really like to hear your thoughts on this.

Yeah, this is a good idea. I have seen old trade threads saying like: "I am trading my very rare space suit for inferno", and people bump up these threads. I also get confused by them lol.

This should definitely apply to trade posts.

However, there are some topics that make sense as a continuous, "revivable" thread; for example, "Pictures of Your Rooms!" People keep posting room pictures periodically, and a gentle nudge in the direction of this original thread helps to keep it organized.

The mod staff normally makes a judgement call on whether any threads brought back from the grave should be closed or not. Some topics can stay around for a very long time before the topic no longer applies, but others the topic are out-dated rather quickly.

nice idea! however, i've noticed that for some of the revived topics, the person who reveived it types something like "how do you start a new thread?" or something that could already be answered through faq or other players through newer threads. i don't mean to point out anyone or anything, but i'm just trying to ask nicely to stop reviving old topics if it's just for reasons like that.

This could work, perhaps forum purging to 60 day old threads?

But, there might be some old info someone is looking for, so maybe, if there is a Mass Close feature on VB, that would also work.
