View Full Version : opinions on more people in VMK

Who else thinks that more peopl in VMK is annoying? I think it is because it is hard to get into popular guest rooms, all the people clog the doorways, more people means more people standing around and not even on their computer. all the new people joining VMK are not usually nice. They were nice in beta because they were all happy disney fans that subscribed to disney adventures or heard about it in a disney program or something.

who else agrees with me?

I agree totally!

i agree with u claw, they don't usually do anything just stand there and when people tell them to move, well, plain and simple, they dont this is a problem and we need to fix it! thank you

another thing, they also don't cooperate for example, you say "go into the teleporter when i say so" and they say "ok". But before i say go, they just run right in! it makes me mad that they can't listen even though i tell them spicificly (did i spell that right?)

yah... the people that used to be on were reasonable. the new people in VMK are people from other not so nice online games, like coke music.

I think they should have districts. Like Toontown has, or worlds like runescape has. Then there would be a limit to each district/world. Maybe like 500 or 1000 because then it wouldn't be over crowded.

ice636555
07-11-2005, 01:26 PM
that would be good :) :) like only experianced members could go onto world 1 or something

Claw
07-11-2005, 01:26 PM
but then we wouldn't be able to find people we don't know and find cast members. there has to be a solution like... if you aren't moving for one minuet you are automatically logged off but not banned. just so no people are standing around. although i think that there should be a world for people with the DAY 1 badge.

yea, if there is no activity on your computer, then they will boot you off the game for a while. thats pretty good it might work

i like the idea for people with the day 1 badge to have their own world. that would work because those people are devoted to that game and will play as long as their character is on. and, they know that going into restricted teleporters doesn't make them popular

Well since I am banned and VMK had not even replied to my questions (they must be lazy or don't care or both) I am not sure how musch people are playing but the day before i got banned seemed very busy to me can't imagine what it is like now. They should make more channels or differnt severs adding a new land would help with some of the busy places infact a another park would help alot lol. -Max Twinklescooter

well i dont think it would work for me because some of my friends are not day 1.

Yea and even though I'm not going to be a VIP for 4 years ( which is when I go to WDW :( ) it sounds cool to have a VIP world. Just fir the VIP's to go to so they don't get bothered 24/7!

then u could tell staff that they're ok to be on the day 1 world

If I've ever been away from my computer more than a few minutes, it seems to log me off...

This might already be in place but not after one minute. More like 20.

well that is a good idea but there should be worlds grouped on experience (sp?) it should be that who signed up while the game was in beta get's a world then who signed up for the after beta testing was done but signed up before july 27th gets a world and so on. but the guest rooms are still there but u can still sort them by world. eg. my friend signed up after beta testing but i can still go to his room and vice versa.

I like that more people are on VMK. That means there will be more future community leaders!

There will always be new vmk players who don't really know what they're doing and ask questions and bother other players about their magic pins, but I agree with your opinion about vmk after beta. Now that the majority of the people in the game is not made up of die hard disney fans, the general attitude around the kingdom has definately declined. The newcomers to the game say and do more inappropriate things and many don't seem to respect the fact that this is a disney game designed for kids and disney lovers.

(I'm not picking on you XDisneyphileX - you just have summarized everyones opinions in one place and I wanted to respond to them.)

I think this is nonsense.

Clearly we are all forgetting what it was like a month ago. Where we would have people roaming the streets begging for BF/GF or more. People who would just stand in the way of things. People who ignored directions. People who didn't know what they were doing and used bad words that were always censored. People walking around begging for magic or ears. People asking "any mickeys in here?"

Those people were us a month ago.

Do you want to be a community leader? A real community leader? Educate these people. Bring them into our community instead of creating a wall around our community. We all needed people to help us through the early days and weeks (and month or more, even) as we were learning more about this world - being a "day one" member gives us that obligation to pass that on.

I relish the new faces I see in my room every night as much as I cherish running into "old friends". I still think that the game is largely attracting die-hard Disney fans, but lets remember that Disney does not just appeal to the fan, and VMK is not made to just appeal to us - if it does not appeal to a broad audience, it will die, just like a bad movie or tv show. Thousands of people go to a Disney park, watch a Disney movie, listen to a Disney radio station, or watch a Disney television show every day. VMK has to both appeal to those people and to be able to start handling quantities of people on that scale.

Personally, I think the growth in VMK is good, and can only get better. If we never grew, we would stagnate. More critically, if we didn't grow, Disney would pull the plug on VMK and deem it a failure.

Ok I used to play coke music before VMK, and I hope I am not as un-decent as you say? But i like disney much better, I subscribe to the disney magizine, or uh the adventures booklet thing lol :).

prisoner I see your point but frankly I am not taking a side and getting into a debate here :) That was us a month ago, at least me because I live to far away from disney and those mickey ears were cool, but i didn't go up to random people with mickey ears and start begging them, I waited in rooms and looked to see if anyone was trading. Not so decent now :(, am I? lol...

You seem to have misunderstood my post, prisoner. My first description was of how any new player to vmk acted, acts, or will act, including me! (though I don't believe I actually bugged anyone). I was simply addressing the misconception that the end of beta has brought people who act like this. Indeed, the end of beta has brought more people who are new and act new, but personally, I don't see that as any sort of a problem. I enjoy helping new players find their way around the game and discover exciting things to do! Sometimes I just sit on Main Street and ask "Does anyone need help here?" to see if someone wants to enlist me as their tour guide. So, it appears that we actually do have the same opinion on this topic!

Similarly, I don't think anyone can argue with the fact that the end of beta has brought in a wider range of people, and with that wider range, wider interests. This, obviously, is not a bad thing most of the time. However, sometimes these "wider interests" constitute the forming of "table dancing" and "make out" rooms, which were not so common-place one month ago. I also don't think that many here would want to argue with my opinion that vmk is not the right place for rooms such as these.
I hope this makes my stance a bit clearer for everyone! :)

So it seems! Sorry about picking on your message then.

They were still pretty common back then! We just have more people creating rooms now, so more of these rooms show up.

If they allowed less people many would be upset because they could not get on. Limiting the # is not the answer. They will get these bugs fixed and the game will be more stable and have less problems as time goes on. You have to remember this is a work in progress and they are doing all they can each day to improve VMK.

i really am starting to dislike VMK i mean i loved it in BETA because there was rarely ever over 500 people there now there is always over a thousand!

What is it specifically that you don't like about how many people are on?

also with all the crashing down i mean i go on and at least once a day VMK crashes on me i mean i really think they should let less people on VMK!

What if the crashing was completely unrelated to the number of people on?
