Recently, I have been remembering the day that I came upon the Virtual Magic Kingdom site. I was browsing http://www.animated-news.com and found that Disney was going to open a virtual game entitled Virtual Magic Kingdom. So I went, created an account at school, came home and began to play. I don't quite remember chosing my name, but I do remember my first look (I'll have pictures, btw I was ugly LOL). I remember going around, asking questions and acting like the peculiar newcomer. I remeber before it grew out of Beta, I was appointed parents :poison: because I had no idea what I was doing. I then knew that it was possible to create two accounts and decided that TheIdolMara would be a cool title. I then became smarter on what VMK was like and here I am now, a future community leader (crosses finger ;)). Oh, and PS: Thanks to CL_PeepsBunny for helping me apply for a community. I also was not sure what the "Here from Day 1" bad represented. I thought: "Hey, I don't remember signing up the first day!!". lol Post yours and it will be funny lol I hope hope.

MY BETA TALE:
Well my dad works for HP the company who hosts the disney sites, and he sent me the link one day. I signed up and was sent into a virtual world. The first thing i did was find the mickeys on the site, after I did that i began to explore... My reaction to the site was just "wow this is so cool"

After a while, i got bored of VMK (trust me this shocked me too) i left for awhile, then started to get online again. I became a VMK "add duck" I know just about everything about VMK now, all thanks to disney.

Well, I joined RIGHT after beta. I saw VMK central at Disneyland, and when I got home I signed on. That's pretty much all to the story LOL

i was at my neighbor's/friend's house and she had a disney adventure's magazine with her. i was scanning through and i saw an article about vmk. it looked pretty interesting, so i tried it and BOOM! i was hooked ever since.

once upon a time there was a heavenlycinna and she took a trip to the most magical place on earth walt disney world, she traveled to this amazing place called frontier land and there she found a beautiful snow white pin, upon purchasing this pin she found a bit of a surprise a virtual pin card, unaware of what this pin card had upon it she took it back home only to find a web address leading her to a whole new way to love disney (without the plane ride)

The True Story

Well one day a girl who wore flip flops was at her friends house....

she had come home from disneyland to celebrate her birthday.... then she bought gold mickey ears there and got a code... she told me the site and i tried it out. i first was confused and very very poor. then i learned about codes,credits,guest rooms, and yada yada yada.... then i forgot it for awhile. then one day i was searching in my desk and i found my character name: Flipflopgirlie (in vmk). then i was bored so i did it. ever since i have been vmk 24/7.... Jk just when vmk is open. lol another jk when i have the time

then i got my brother to join and he was a vmk "add duck" just like me...

I did not have beta but..My story is sort of Interesting so i want to say it.
Well I was surfing on Kids Island, cause I wanted to play Opportunity City or whatever it is called. But well I was reading the little ' fade in fade out ' poster and then it said, VMK virutal magic kingdom. Free Multiplayer Game! And I am all, multiplayer! Multiplayer means, I can have friends! So I clicked the poster and I was took to the VMK site. First I read the little video it shows you which I thought was pretty cool. So then I entered the game and I couldn't figure out how to join, but then I did so I did join. So after I joined I logged in, and it took really long to load so I exited out. Then I came back another day, and I saw that I was supposed to install shockwave. So I did. Then I went into the game. At first I wanted my name to be LittleGirl. So I submitted that. In fact, I even named my room, Little Girl's Room! All I had was 'Little Girl ' on the brain. I remember my first friend ever, Bellecat! I remember how she was so nice..she explained to me how to get to her room and I am all, 'What? I don't get it.' finally I came into her room and I thought it was so totally awesome. Then I asked my IM friend to join and I am glad I asked her to join because she showed me how to buy furniutre! I thought it was so awesome. Soon I was playing games and getting credits, and I grew more and more popular in the VMK world. I had no idea when I joined VMK that it would be like this!

I joined about 5 days after Beta ended. Here's my story...
I was browsing through Disney.com, looking at the new things at the parks. I saw this ad for VMK, and I tried it. The first 10 times I tried to load it, it was a fluke. Whrn I finally did get on, I became possesed by the spirits of Virtual Magic Kingdom. LOL.
For the first week or so, I had no idea of how to use the friends button, so I ended up having 50 requests...

Wow, I loved reading all your stories. My story is so simple, it's almost shameful. I regularly receive the Disney Insider via email, and there was an article introducing the new online game from Disney. The article had codes for signing up. I've been playing ever since! As for my name, I couldn't think of anything creative; I'm just me and I want to play the game, so my login name became justme_st. Well, that's my story and Im sticking to it! :)

my story is:
well i got a disney adventure magazines one day (i never discontinued it) and i read something about vmk and i was like cool so i tried out the site and sadly it was not up yet but then i was bored on the internet a few days l8r and vmk was open and so i tried it out. when i first started i didnt know what or where i was supposed to go and do but then i gradually learned and figured it out and now i do it 24/7 and i wonder if 4 months from now today's guests will be remembering their "beta days" like us.

I have to admit that I first heard about VMK from the Disney Adventure magazine and thought it would be something my kids might like. So, I decided to give it the once over for them and maybe spark their interests. Little did I know that I would get hooked. They play... Just not as much as me. Darn kids. Look what they got me into!

One day my mom was on her labtop as usual and i came up to her to ask for pizza :) and i saw her doing something peculiar, she told us it was VMK (me and my sis) and i went upstairs and made an account and absoulutley fell in love with the game, then my WDW trip came and we took the insider tour and i got a haunted room and a load of credits -wink-

Well, I was roaming WDWmagic.com one day, and saw a thread called "VMK Now in beta testing". I figured, "it's cool, I'll try it out". So, I made a person with the name after "Poseidon's Fury" in IOA at Universal. I didn't play for a week, but then started to alot. I used to click on the hidden mickeys, not take pics of them. -chuckles-. Then I met Fabio and Pixiepal in Justagirl's Tent Room (It was like getting pirate prison, then). They said "Oh this kid would love shorts!". I was fairly confused, but then meant GBShorts. There-after...The Spam Angels were made!

My Beta Tale:
This is a true story:

Whe I was at Disney World over sping break, they were taking people to test out quests, so I tested out the tomorrowland quest. It is the same one as now, and they told me it is for a new online game called VMK opening this summer, and I got shown a preview of VMK and decided to start playing. Thats my story :)

I was scanning over WDWmagic.com one day and ran across a thread announcing that a game called vmk would soon open. I promised I would check it out when it opened. The day it opend another thread, the thread Poseidon talks about, announced the opening. I logged on and loved it. I was originally going to make my name rogerrabiitfan9 like on WDWmagic. It would not allow it so i stuck with thegoof.

I was looking on Walt Disney World offical website to get some information on Expedition Everest back in May and i got a pop up saying come join VMK bla bla bla. And i did and since then love VMK. I use to play before VMK Mission Space the Game from WDW website and i was Captain Eagle is anyone remembers?

my story:

i joined 2 days after beta and my brother came home one day and was like im going on vmk and i was like whats that? And he showed me and ever since i was addicted! @_@ lol

I just played TT and I stumbled upon it at TTC. It seemed really cool. I did lose interest when they relased princess dresses (gold), space suit and sorcerer ears and I never got them. :( Oh well, but I'm very glad to have found VMK.

I was on The WDW site looking stuff up about the rides and a pop up came up about VMK and the rest is history

The way I found VMK was actually by accident! Me and my family were going on vacation to walt disney world! My favorite place to be! The place that I only go to about every 2 to 5 years! The place that I loved So much! So I went to The Walt Disney World official site to see if I could find anything. All of a sudden I see this link to www.VMK.com, So I try it. I get on and Ka Bam! I was hooked ever since except for the strike I did for 1 day because someone stole my Invisibility magci pin! !LOL! And that is the true story on how I came to VMK!

I know this is funny but when i went to disneyland.com i saw a pop up add about VMK i was like what? Then I started playing and loved it!

We are members of a branch of the N.F.F.C. (National Fan Fanatics Club), I think?! Anyway we are DisneyFanatics and meet once a month; first Saturday of June to be exact, and were told about this game members of the group were add-ucked to! We rushed home to log on, and too had a slow time to load and felt frustrated, but finally with no plane, or car, or dollarbill
we were standing looking right inside the Magic Kingdom! We got all the hidden Mickeys for everyones kid (film was way cheaper!)and it took along time to buy stuff. Now it is our 'backyard' or "our Happy Place" and we feel we are all part of 'Uncle Walt's Family in the Circle of Life' especially in VMK!

Hi all....... * looking back fondly to the Beta days*.......* more like scratching head trying to remember*....oh yeah..... I was surfing on my other Disney addiction enabling website..... http://www.dizpins.com and found a post by CapturePixies......talking about something called VMK.....ah......the days when I had a life other than being on line:pcpunch:..... It took me a few days to get the game to load on my computer...I even had to send it back to an earlier restore point before my installed updates...wow I was desperate:Tongue: ....But I managed to log on and wander aimlessly until I ran into CapturePixies and he helped me out...LOL

I also met Smoop in that same Dizpins post and he and I spent all day on line. I remember he called out sick from work so we could keep playing. Wow that is hardcore.... :lol:

I remember it was really confusing the start of beta, and no one really knew what they were donig. I remember when EKB was in one of the public areas, and back then the BOOT button was lite up like all the other buttons. He was complain on his boot button not working!

well i was just looking at sites quiet upset that my toontown ran out so i looked at disney website i was looking and than at hot new stuff in the middle of kids island poped up it said disneys vmk i clicked it read it and i clicked enter game and i did everything aka i did not look so cool when i went into vmk i wore blonde sun glasses hair with a cute face and a zip up sweater and now im a vmk addicted lol

Well i joined beta all thanks to Search :) You may know him on the forums as Shadow Knuckles but my uber account on toontown is his uber's secret friend that means we can type to chat. And we are running around and he goes, "are you going to play vmk?" And I was like, "what's that?" So he told me all about it and now I am a community leader and an addict :)

Well my tale is... Drum Roll please! Ok well I was at home at since my homepage is the Disney website, ((L0L)) I saw the pop-up, and I was thinking, SOMETHING DISNEY WOO!!. Ok so I signed up and everything and it was all grand..But I was very confused on the way of things. And I remember asking everyone when my name would be changed from guest to the name I have now, WDWorld.. but I made it through and its cool ((exspecial at the fact that I can talk to other Disney lovers and that I can make new friends :)))

It was just a little picture that says Virtual Magic Kingdom. So, being the HUGE Disney fan that I am I had to see what it was.
When I did I was soooo tickled, I was happy. :goofy:
Of course it did require a lot of patience because I kept getting crash messages and getting disconnected. :mad:
Then my original nickname was taken away from me after I had it about a month or so. But with all that trying stuff, and even more now - every time I write with a problem I NEVER hear back from them. :mad:
I got cereal codes from the box :piratesk: that don't work, and a bunch of other things they have ignored, BUT I am still here and still playing the game and loving it! :minniemo:

Me too! Only I owned the mag and have kept it under glass opened to the page ever since I became an "add duck!" LOL JK!

i was on a site that probobly can not be named, but they had a Disney group that mentioned VMK. I looked up the link and was like WOW! How did I miss this? Thanks to "my space" on the internet, I now have a fun place to play online. I was an ugly newbie as well, but now, with a great circle, i have fun!

I was playing some game...and this annoying pop up came up. So i clicked it because it was kind of catchy (but annoying) lol. I signed up and have been addicted ever since! heavenlycinnamon, what card did you get?

One normal afternoon when i got home from school I picked up the mail. My brothers National Geographic Kids had arrived. When he finished reading it he pointed out an add on the back for VMK, I thought Wow! sounds like fun so I tried it and I got hooked :nemosmile.
