My computer is sort of.. Out of memory... Or so it tells me. Is that bad? o.O

See I was going to get my headdress thingy, and then an error came up.. And it had a really big negative number... Then something else came up that I can't remember, then it said,
"Error! Computer out of memory, even after purgeing all purgeable items."
And VMK just froze. And now. I don't think I can get back on. AND. I. NEVER. GOT. MY. HEADDRESS! ;P And now I think my dad is going to get really mad at me...

Anyone have a clue what I should do? Because I sure don't. o.O

Chill as it happens to me often when I try to do mules. VMK leaves lots of cookies and stuff on your computer. I cannot tell you how to do this but these files and other stuff have to be done.

You need strong programs to keep out the bad bugs.
You need regular cleaning of old files and trashing stuff.
There is another thing that needs to be done.

YOU DID NOT BREAK THE COMPUTER.

It just telling you the system is overworked and needs cleaning. Yesterday I spent countless hours cleanting and restarting my computer because of VMK.

First no you did not break your computer.
But unless you know what your doing do not have someone try and talk you into doing anything or you could hurt the computer. Let your dad clean it.
Now to help fix the problem till he can clean it....
shut the computer down and restart it. Also do not have lots of open windows, or programs running at one time. This should let you play on VMK.
When your dad comes home just tell him the computer needs clean up

Also, it could mean that your computer is out of hard drive space. So this would prevent you from installing any new games and stuff. So if you don't want to uninstall other things and there is still no room after clean up, then you may want to buy another hard drive. Although they are pretty expensive I think. I'm not sure. But I remember running out of room ALL the time on my old computer. XP It only had 6 GB of space on the entire hard drive! :o But we got a new hard drive, and it ran a bit better. But now with our new computer, it has two hard drives (the old and new one) with a total of about 200-300 GB or something. O.o Technology sure has improved over the years. :P Lol. So yeah, no worries. ^.^

Computers are not toys and have to be treated like cars only worse.

It will cost me to copy on to a larger 80 gb hard drive with installation about $125.

DO NOT DO THIS YOURSELF
Your parents/guardian must regularly do the following:

Install several antiviral and antispyware programs.

Defragmenting

Use of free online programs to double check for bugs.

Thorough cleaning of certain files and cookies.

Upgrade the hard drive and all other components when affordable. The more memory the better.

You need your parents to show you how to clean your computer NOT me or anyone else as it is their computer and easy to mess up. Just how to get rid of temporary files and stuff.

Your parents may want to look in your computer's registry for unwanted stuff, your macromedia, temp files, cookies and temporary files.

DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME
It is easy to pull the wrong file that looks bad. There are good programs and bad programs that look like good programs. Sol.exe is my solitaire game for example.

The headdress will be there until Halloween, so don't worry about it if your computer gets fixed in a day or so :)

A quick fix might be to uninstall a few of your games. They can eat up a lot of disk space!

Be careful of those free online programs though! Some of them are bad and could put stuff in your computer and make it worse! Some of them might install spyware or just viruses. My mom tells me to NEVER use the online stuff since they could be dangerous! So use caution! But not all of them are bad of course. :)

Hint:Use the following technique to clear some hardware space.
1.Get the owner of the computer to come help.
2.Go to the taskbar and press the Stat button
3.Press the button titled "Programs" or "All Programs"
4.A selection thing should pop up
5.Scroll over "Accesories"
6.Then scroll through the new window to "System Tools"
7.Then click on the icon that says "Disk Cleanup"
8.Wait until it loads completely, this will take a long time.
9.Check the top of the message box that will come up, make sure that the Internet option thing is selected
10.Press ok

Also you can go to Tools, Internet Options, then Delete Cookies and Delete Temporary Files. But make sure it's ok with your dad first! Although, doing this usually speeds up my computer a bunch. ^.^ Get's rid of a bunch of useless files in a snap! ^.^
