I thought I knew how to get multiple star magic pins but for some reason it is not working correctly. Is it true that you have to win pirates in the same manner that you did the first time you got the magic pin (10 wins per level)? OR do you need to trade with someone to get the additional Magic Pin to combine them? I won each level ten times and got no special messages, pin, points, or anything of the sort.

My question: How do you earn multiple star pins? If they are not earned are they traded? (For fireworks or pirates)

AND how do you "combine" the pins once you get them to create a 2 star, etc, pin?

PS If you don't know for sure, and you have not personally experienced getting a multiple star pin, don't pass on a rumor to me. I would rather not spend hours working toward something that won't work. Thanks!

for the spooky magic pin you have to trade with other ppl to get another OR go on VMK tour :)

As far as I know, you have to trade to get additional magic pins - I think you can only win them once each. But once you have two of the same kind you can select one, click on the "combine" option, and then click the other pin. I did that with my two "spooky" pins (I won one on pirates and got the other on the tour at WDW) and it worked.

Since you can only get the magic pins once per account for fireworks, invisibility, and sparkly pirate, the only alternative to trading if you want more than one is to set up additional accounts, win extra pins, and then trade them to your main account. Some people frown on this, some don't; it's not against the current VMK House Rules though. This does not work with Cursed Storm or Buried in Treasure though since they aren't tradeable. A few people have a two-star Buried in Treasure pin due to the initial cereal code mix-up.
