Just wondering what the "advanced mode", on the main map, does or doesn't do? Hope this wasn't covered already - I didn't see it, if so.

TIA for your help :mickey2:

Nevermind - I found it on the VMK site...

If anyone cares....

"Advanced Mode - Only select this mode if you're a true VMK pro and you want to navigate to a specific instance. All of the 'instances' of an area look the same but you'll find different people in each one"

coolcami i am not a moderator but let me remind you that you should not reply to your self. This is against the rules, thanks!

I'm sure this was more just my newness to this board than my desire to break the rules. Surely, you can figure that out for yourself, can't you? I am a flag saluting, married-to-the-military, law abiding citizen, I kid you not! But, thanks, in any case for sharing your wealth of knowledge! Be patient with me, I'm still learning - hopefully I will have your saavy board skillz someday too!

By the way, thanks to everyone that has replied to my question.

It allows you to choose which area you go to in the different areas of VMK. With Advanced Mode, when you click on an area to go to (for example, Emporium), you are present with a list of different "copies" of that room, with Mickey icons indicating how crowded it is. That way you can go to one that is less crowded if you want. Otherwise, if you don't use Advanced Mode, VMK just picks one and puts you in it.

This reminds me of a question I always had about the different "instances." Say I'm from the North West. If I am not in the advanced mode, when I click on areas on the map, I should always go to the NW area, right? But maybe if there is no NW area, I go to the SE area because it already exists and they don't want to create another area just for me. I don't really understand it; since people don't always end up in their appropriate area, I think it would be more fun and less confusing if, instead of using the geographic North-North-West areas, they used different characters, like the Mickey Emporium or the Daisy Town Square, kind of like the parking lots in Disney!
Something else I don't get: what is the different between North-North-East and North-East-North? They both have 2 Norths and 1 East. Maybe the first is more north?

The "Advanced Mode" just helps alot if you are trying to meet up with like a friend, to make sure you guys are in the same 'version' of a room.... :mickeymo:
