When discussing a problem I've been having with a piece of furniture, one of the techs working on VMK told me they've been having some discussions about one of the items in the Disneyland Gold Collection.

Apparently, they've pulled the velvet rope barrier from the collection. Although it's called the Disneyland Velvet Rope -- Special Gold Edition, she said it looks exactly the same as the ones you can buy and they didn't see any point in it. Discussions continue, however.

I suggested they make it look different: a gold rope instead of velvet, a red or blue D at the top -- any little thing to distinguish it from the regular ones. I have not gotten a reply, so I don't knwo how that was received.

Ergh, a completely gold rope divider would look really painful on the eyes. I've experimented with ALOT of gold over my time in VMK, and let my just say, any solid colour in VMK is quite painful. Unless you mean the "gold" colour of the other items like the orange looking ones (ala Dice). I'm fine with that! By all means, let's hope it works!

PS: Are you in Disneyland right now? It kinda seems like it from the way you talked to the people working on VMK.

I was put in touch with a techie who was roaming VMK testing things because I asked for help on an unrelated matter. Having the opportunity, I asked about the rope divider because mine had disappeared. That's when I got the info. Unfortunately, I am unlikely to get the "special" one back unless they make a change they like and put them back in circulation.

To answer another question, the following items came in my Gold Collection:
Special Rope Divider
Gold Penny Press
Gold Scoreboard
Gold Philharmagic Chair
Gold Number Generator
Gold Turnstile

that really was not fair for them to take away the one you have...I can see not putting it out anylonger if they so chose but since you already had it....

The chair I speak of is a gold version of the theater chair that formerly came in blue/red/green/pink...

The Disneyland Gold Edition Rope Barrier has been returned (as of yesterday), and to differentiate it from the rope barrier you can buy in the stores, they changed the rope from red to GOLD.
