City Folk is good if you have a bad day :P
If you have WiFi, buy Brawl if you can deal with lagginess, and buy Mario Kart if you feel like it.

in my opinion, if you want to rock out on Wii, guitar hero is the way to go XD.

sonic Unleashed,Super smash brothers Brawl, Rock Band 1 & 2. yeah.

For game choices, many have stated that it depends on what you enjoy.
Myself, personally, I can't stand anything containing graphic violence. I'm squeamish..

I'd highly recommend most of the Mario games for the Wii, since they're quite solid. Super Mario Galaxy is a great game, though not as difficult as I'd hoped. Mario Kart Wii is very enjoyable, especially if you have someone to race you. Mario Party is also a great idea if you have other people to play with. ;)

I also highly recommend Super Smash Bros. Brawl, even if you don't have anyone else to play with at home. By itself, it's still a great game, but if you have a partner to battle with/play co-op modes with OR Wifi connection, the battles become just that much more awesome. :ThumbsUp:

On an off topic note, yes, Sonicboom, I'm familiar with competitive terms, but am not much into tourneys. I do know all about those advanced techniques(although there aren't near as many as were in SSB: Melee), and use quite a few of them. I'd be glad to battle some people sometime, but I'm mainly visiting VMKfansite just because I'm not doing well right now(sick)..
I haven't played SSB:Brawl in awhile, either, but I warm up pretty fast, to put it mildly. Anyone interested in brawling, just message me. I don't visit TOO often, but I'll see it eventually. :balloon:
