View Full Version : Do you think there was a lesson in VMK closing?

I think there was, for me, anyway. I remember one time I was mad about something on VMK or whatever, and I said that I thought it wouldn't last long to my family. My lesson was to be careful what you say, because you never know what's gonna happen.

If you have learned a lesson, what is it?

Well I'm talking about lessons like- all good things must come to an end.
Like that.

Hmm, lessons:

• Do not become deeply involved in any game from the WDIG.
• Do not join a game that could be perceived as a promotion.
• When you join a game, do not assume that every word from the mouth of the game's producer is true.
• Disney makes dreams come true every single day for the right price.
• There is no such thing as free magic.

I agree. I am also very angry that what the producer said wasn't true. But how should I know what he said, since I joined in 2006..

Yes, I have learned some lessons from the closing of VMK.

- Follow rules, or there will be tough consequences
- It's not good to sit in front of the computer for more than two hours (for me)
- Don't get addicted to a computer game
- Be careful of what you say
- What you say, is what you mean

I learned to never be addicted to another game.

No i dont i think it's just because the agreement they had ended without a say from the players. I think there just coldhearted people. I mean thats not cool to just close vmk after three years? okay if they made it for a celebration or whatever whats the point of making a game at all. what did they expect? 1 year of celebration and they close it? that would be SUCH a waste of money.

I didn't.. I already knew I was addicted to VMK..
o.o I know for a fact no player was addicted, the best term for it was you LOVED vmk so much, you played your every minute o.o

But anyways my lesson was.. Cherish every second for your next one may be your last one, and that what happened for me..
And i learned family is most important, during the last day of vmk, there was a giant storm and my parents weren't there. I chose not FORCED but choose to turn off vmk
and help my sisters get my dog dry because shes an outside dog.. but anyways...
yes, water leaking in through the doors and my sister slipped so i guess vmk closing was an eye opener

I have learned the hard way from the closing of VMK that I contol the computer, the computer doesn't control me. I know that may sould silly but I could easily spend all day on the computer. I have relized that spending time with family should come before spending time with computer friends. no offense to you guys.

Yep.

Never take things like VMK for granted. May seem like it's always there, not that big of a deal, just a game...

Once it's gone... you don't realize how much it meant to you.

Never take things for granted.

Yes there was certainly a lesson to be learned,

an online world cannot run without a source of money and there are different sections of Disney that cannot rely on other sections of Disney to give them money simply because they are not the same. To make this more simple, imagine there was Club Penguin and VMK, Club Penguin asks for VMK to fund money but VMK decline the request simply because they are both two different online worlds, yes they are a part of Disney but this does not mean they'll help eachother as each section obviously has its own budget that must be used carefully or otherwise they are stuck because as I said, the odds are that section cannot rely on other sections of Disney for more money. But the bottom line is, since VMK was free and it did not advertise much this is probably the reason for its closure but that does not mean we need to give up hope! The fact is Disney left alot of clues that VMK may re-open and as many have said, it may re-open as a pay to play game.

Hope this helps and happy halloween! :icon_mickey_hallowe

Always appreciate and cherish what you have because you never know when it's gonna be taken away from you.
