Wii.
I don't like Xbox's.
I have a wii and personally love it. =)
Wii's are more popular, in my opinion. :]
Wii's have some of the games that the Xbox360 has. ( Guitar Hero for example. )

It depends what you want in a system. I own both so I'm not biased even if I seem so.

360-Hardcore gamer for the most part. If your into games with a story, plot, everything nintendo used to be except coded in blood and guns this is for you. Of course the 360 isn't all shooters and horror games. 360 has a huge array of sports, party, and platformers as well. The main selling point for the 360 is that EVERYTHING that is anything is released on it. Every good developer, francise, movie, and etc release there products on 360. LucasArts, Rare, Bungie, and Capcom to name a few. The Force Unleased, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, Halo Wars, and Resident Evil correspond with the companys. Along side that 360 has the best graphics besides PS3 but without the long loading times which come with the graphics. Since this is more family orrientented site and is looking more for party games I'll give a small preview of the "party" scene for 360. Scene It (personal favorite) is releasing again updated with more movies and trivia, Lips is a singing game where you can plug your Ipod or Zune into your 360 and sing along or sing against a friend to any song that can be put on an Ipod, Rock Band2 and Guitar Hero4, and Your In The Movies a game where you do whacky mini-games in front of a vision camera using your arms and legs that result in a funny movie staring you and your friends. There is also Live which allows someone playing at home to connect to the entire world and play against them in whatever game you have in whether it be Uno or SoulCalibur. You can also hook up with your friends over live and play them and talk to them even if your far away. Even make new friends. I have like a dozen friends from Michigan. Maybe I'll move to Michigan... LIVE is probably the only reason 360 is so popular and got the opportunity to become what it is.

Wii-Wii is basically multiplayer only. You can only play if you have friends or family to play with you and it's all mini-games. There hasn't been one wii game with a epic story so far and most games cut out story all together. Wii is not fun to play by yourself but if you have friends it's incrediably fun. Just make sure you don't repeat the same game too often because the go stale fast. The best games for the Wii are Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros Brawl, WiiSports, Cooking Mama and WarioWare. besides that everything is a rent. Nothing is really worth buying. Still it's great at parties and it's never going to be anything over T and that only because of Brawl which has nothing that would make a T necessary besides your fighting. My favorite feature about the wii at the moment (besides the motion controls) is the VC channel or Virtual Console. Going to the VC allows you to purchase select games from the old Nintendo systems like N64, SNES, and NES. There are also not very good systems on there that seem to be pointless. Also there are WiiWare. Games developers make that are new and pretty random games never seen before (basically Xbox Live Arcade). The only problem is the wii has a large memory issue. So be prepared to only get the games you really want because your wii can only save so much data. Also be prepared to delete game data if you play or rent new games on a somewhat regular basis (once or twice a month). Either way amazing system with alot of flaws. Still if your only looking for the G-rated party seen this would be it. It's also cheap. Probably why they're so hard to get your hands on. Incrediably fun system that will last you awhile. I'm still playing WiiSports and I've had my wii for over a year now.

Wii all the way dude. You can play online just like xbox and like buzz said there is all those mario and pokemon games and there is even lots of sports games. And the sports games are sweet. I have a Wii and it's beastly. There is lots of games for the wii for all ages. You get a free game when u get a Wii it's that Wii sports game and that has baseball, tennis, bowling, boxing, and golf. There might be more but idk. You can get a package thing that has a baseball bat a golf club and a tennis racket.

Wii!
Various Games Have need of the Wii Remote's Movement such as Wii Sports
You can buy games that are from past Systems
And It's Good for Yourself or A Party of 4 ( in some cases, 12 players )

The only thing is that sometimes the Sensors go bad for a while, making your Wii Control/Character go out of control, I Give it 9.9/10!

Wii.

The Wii it sends a whole new meaning of what next generation gaming really is. It's more on the high end of technology and it encourages you to get up. Plus X360 overheats way too fast. If you want good, fun games that aren't too violent I say go for the Wii.

The Wii is awesome, SSBB, Super Mario Galaxy, and Mario Kart are all awesome games (two of which use the internet to have huge multiplayer events). And even tho some peeps say the Wii has bad internet, I can easily run a MarioKart match with 12 players and no lag, with my standard wireless router over 20 feet away.

Ehh, I hate to say it, but I'm totally in LOVE with my XBOX 360. I play it wayy more than my Wii. The XBOX 360 is awesome if you want fantastic games and want to play mainly by yourself. I can name a lot more games on the 360 that I love than the Wii. The 360 games take forever for me to beat, while (most) the Wii games I can usually beat in two days (with the exception of Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Heh.)

On the other hand, the Wii is great for parties. [:

I know the Wii is all high-tech, and blah-blah-blah, but until they get some bettah games, I'm saying 360.

Graphics, you're wrong. Motion Sensing, correct. Although I've never stood up for Wii in a while...

Wii, I suggest if you're ok with the not-that-largest gaming library, and expect little kids on Wi-Fi. Xbox if you're looking for a large game library, and expect immature teenagers on XBL.

They're both great consoles, just Xbox doesn't have motion sensing, but better games for teenagers, and vise-versa.

Also, Nintendo is becoming less and less availible to Hardcore gamers, so watch out if you're a hardcore gamer.

Wii is so much cooler.
you get into the game so much more because you are actually moving with the game.
rather than moving your thumbs.
its just more fun because xbox is pretty much the same idea as things like gamecube and playstation.
yeah
go for the wii

Only a select few actually make you "move"

Most of them, you use a wheel, shake, throw, or Brawl :P. A lot of them that do move are sometimes unresponsive.

Neither.
I threw a Wii at a TV -.-
The Xbox 360 overheats too fast..i have bad memory to "shut off things". If you say anything, i go with the PS3, even though its fat and not on the suggestion list, i actually get to play Grand Turismo 5. Its a big deal so yeah. PS2 and PS3 are all i need.

P.S: Wii's are EVIL. Break your flatscreen :(
P.S.:Xbox 360's are EVILLER. Mind your house get on fire!

For all you Wii owners out there, did you know that you can use candles instead of the sensor bar? Really! I've tried it several times and it works. You place two candles where each end of the sensor bar would normally be, above or below your telly. Why? Because each end of the sensor bar emits a certain frequency of light that the camera in the Wii-mote tracks to figure out where it is in comparison. Candles emit this same frequency. If you don't believe me, try it yourself. Unplug the sensor bar and use lit candles. ;)

I have the Wii, but I have played the 360. I'd recommend getting the Wii. So far, it appears to be winning the console war. Think about how many more Playstation 2 games than there are Gamecube/Xbox games. There will probably be more Wii games soon. I really like how it is easy to use and gets you off the couch and moving around. It feels more like you are actually in the game. I also like Wii Fit, which is a VERY fun way of exercising. Wii games seem to be more creative due to the nature of the controls. I have a broad spectrum of games. Someone mentioned earlier that they liked the Xbox 360 because of games like Guitar Hero and Resident Evil. Both are available for the Wii. In fact, my friend, a die-hard RE fan, prefers playing it on the Wii. When I have friends over, we usually end up playing a Wii game. Heck, even my mum, who dislikes video games, has played it a few times. I think it is much more fun to play with other people because you get to get up and move around instead of just sitting. However, I play it alone a lot of the time, too.

I work at a consumer electronics store, and I sometimes help out people in the video game section. I have had several people come up to me and ask about the Wii, but I haven't had anybody ask about the 360. Plus, I haven't seen many people purchase one, either. The Wii is getting increasingly more popular.

I don't recommend the PS3 because I have seen NOBODY buy one. Plus, it doesn't have a lot of games. It is definitely losing the console war, and it is way overpriced.

There is a website out there somewhere, with instructions on how to make a PS3 into a George Foreman grill. >_<

I'm gonna go anti-wii for a second just to balance the score. Shigeru Miyamoto, president of nintendo of Japan, stated that the main focus of the wii and nintendo by itself is to become accesible to EVERYONE. This means that none of the francises are going away (except for Earthbound but that's had the shaft for awhile) but everything about them is going to change. They will be all incrediably simple to play. Minimal button use, no more puzzles, bosses are goombas, and evverything you've loved about them is going to change so some 4 year and 70 year old can complete Zelda in an hour. All the francises, all the new games, everything is going to be minigames or feel like one. They're taking the challenge out of video games. I feel, as myself, that I've become better at math, English, every school subject from playing difficult games as a child for having to solve puzzles makes you use your brain and it trains you to be able to use the same tricks you've used in the game for real life situation whether it be long division or understand literacy terms and motives. With nintendo doing this to it's much loved francises like Mario, Zelda, Kirby, Metroid, and Pokemon it's taking the opturtunity for a smarter future. Today's children are being deprived from higher education when young because nintendo feels they don't want the children to have to think too hard. They don't think children have fast enough reaction time and have difficulty commiting to something for longer than 1 to 2 hours. Well how can they get better at it if they never had the chance to begin with? They can't. Dora the Explorer only goes so far in the academic world.

Went VERY off topic there but either way Nintendo is planning to proposly sabotage their well known francises. AKA if you like Mario, Zelda, or Metroid then you better stop while your ahead.

You're getting asked to help a lot on Wii because a large amount of buyers are casual players. For hardcore players, I suggest Xbox.

On the Resident Evil field as mentioned earlier, don't make me laugh. I have the Umbrella Chronicles for wii along with the gun. As I'll admit it's fun and like having an arcade game in your house, it gets old pretty fast without the option of moving, or having a story in general. The resident evil I referred to erlier is the Xbox and PS3 exclusive one because the wii's not capable of performing to the standards of playing the game.

In fact every game that is going to be multiconsole release has to be completly redone and remastered for the wii. Basically the cost and time of an entirly new game. Which is why almost all major developers are making games for 360 and PS3 because they are much easier to make and the wii limits on what developers can do which is why Sega is about the only major nintendo partner at the moment and even they have took up the 360 front. Nintendo basically scares away developers which means less games for wii. Unless of course you count Bratz because nintendo is so leanient on allowing new games anyone can get a game for the wii as long as they have money which is why most games to come out of wii are promotional.

As for why wiis sell so well? Everyone buying them are casual gamers. People that want to sit around with the family and have a a laugh or two as grandpa bowls a strike. They play it once in a mall and buy one instantly because it is downright fun. Not knowingly is the fact that in about 2 monthes it get boring and begins to collect dust. Then a year passes and you decide to play the three good games on the system again and repeat the process. It's like the Nintendo conference. The mass majority of buyers are 50 year old moms that want a new board game.

Depends, if you are most likely gonna play alone, use Xbox, or if you have a VERY good connections, get a wii and buy wifi games (BRAWL!!!!)

I prefer the wii, mostly cause I get to move my arms more, and SSBB, and WiFI (which really depends on the games you buy, IMO, Mario Kart Wii has good connection, when its really laggy on Brawl >_>)
If you have a sis, bro, or parents that like to play with you once in a while or so, WII All the way.

P.S: Wii's are EVIL. Break your flatscreen :(

Not entirely true. It's actually quite easy to keep a hold of the Wii Remote, not to mention that it comes with a wrist strap(the earlier remotes had a few wrist strap failures, but if you own such a remote, you can get a free replacement-strap for it from Nintendo. ;) In actuality, I have yet to get a replacement strap, considering that there is no real need to let go of the Remote. )

The Wii is what I would recommend, as it has a larger fun factor in most zones. Plenty of great games, including the much discussed Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Wi-fi connection, although shaky, still gets the job done. The Virtual Console allows for a huge library of games, which can be quite inexpensive. The Wii is also backwards compatible with Nintendo Gamecube games, allowing for even more versatility in your game choices. Multiplayer games for the Wii seem to be its current strong point; and, if you have Wi-fi, you can easily partake in multiplayer experiences when you're alone.
And we can't forget the motion controls... A few games have some difficulties with the controls, but it's easy to overcome. They can be quite fun, too, depending on which game you're playing.
The Wii is also a stable system; it won't burn up or overheat(unless you clog up its vents with a cushion or something. :xshocked:). Many people have dropped their Wii, but it still functions perfectly. A few Wiis had a difficulty in running Super Smash Bros. Brawl(due to that SSB:B uses a duel-layer disc, or somesuch. :P), but again, you can get your Wii fixed for free by contacting Nintendo.

Although I do not own an Xbox360, it obviously has the harder games of the two choices(which attracts me, actually), as well as better online capability.
There are very popular franchises on the '360, as well, such as the famed Halo series(Me, I'm not a big fan of First Person Shooters, as well as I'm squeamish..). However, the '360 has been known to overheat quickly, as well as suffer from the oh-so-dreaded Red Rings of Death. From what I know, you can call in to get that fixed, but the overheating problem still exists, as well as the system isn't too hardy; it can break easily from falling, if I'm correct.

The choice is yours. I know the Wii section seems much longer, but the Xbox's section is easier to explain. Rawr.

Oh, and

Brer nick has got it all wrong, Wii is not just all party games. Games like Cabelas big hunter is a adventure
