I would like to have items in which players can use their imaginations and put items together in a way nobody would ever imagine. I would also like to see rooms, or events run by the head elfs (or Hosts) where us players can go to visit, chat, and maybe win a cool prize in the end.
Overall, I would enjoy seeing a place where we could grow as a community, and enjoy logging on eachday to see what awaits us.

Elf Island has not stated a date for it's beta period. They do not know what kind of complications they may run into, so it would be best if they didn't set a date. (Though hopefully it's late July or early August)

The link for pre-registration is a shared link only. You can not publicly find it anywhere on the internet. (other then people sharing it) They are "hoping" only VMKers get a hold of it for the time being.

The company is made by Craig and Liz Kronenberger (as stated on elfisland.com) Craig has a huge background portfolio. He has worked with major companies such as Travel Channel, Universal, JCPenny, etc. He has also ran some successful internet kid related topics. I do not think there is any chance we need to worry if this is "shady" or not. (unlike other games ;))

One last thing - remember to keep an eye on their blog. That is where they ask us for opinions and post announcements and clues to the game. :)

No, its like when you signed up on VMK durring beta you got the here from day one pin, thats what the hat is for.

This game sure looks promising. The graphics are excellent, not to mention their safety standards, with a chat dictionary alike to what we used in VMK. I'm excited to see what this game plans- their ways of development to their uniqueness of the avatars. I'm pretty sure this game will be great, and I cannot wait to see how their beta is, and I registered as Violona since I didn't want to shorten my usual title. This game does look very promising, and I'm sure we can expect the best out of them. A great beta to a great future. I hope that the so-called "future" doesn't involve closing. Hehe, I'm actually already impressed.

Really? Didn't know that. They did create the idea for Elf Island around June 2007 so it's been in the "works" for over a year.

I am not sure how many of you are keeping an eye on Elf Island but they stopped the VMKers Pre-Registration (access to the Secret Mouse Hole) and opened up LIVE Pre-Registration at www.ElfIsland.com! It's not huge news... but I have a feeling beta opens within the next couple of weeks!

For those who have pre-registered with Elf Island, sound the alarms and alert your friends: beginning this Tuesday, the first boat sets sail for Elf Island!

The anticipation is building as the elves prepare for your arrival within the next two weeks. Many have been working around the clock to ensure you have the best experience as a new elf on our island.

As one of the first to inhabit Elf Island, you will notice that we have five island rules:

1. Have fun! You’ve earned bragging rights being the 1st to inhabit Elf Island.
2. Share your thoughts and ideas. You are making Elf Island the best virtual world.
3. Think creatively! You are entering a fantastical world with great possibilities.
4. Remain patient and forgiving in this early stage of Elf Island.
5. Explore and listen! Elf Island is filled with hidden rooms, mini-games, special features and sounds.

Interesting. My name is on there, but the name of at least one person I know who registered their name at the exact same time is not. Based on that, I'd have to venture a guess that it's not all based on the date you requested the user name and password. Well, it does say that everyone will be in eventually. Participating in an online game environment like VMK is something we will likely not do again.
