View Full Version : A Packed Disney Star Wars Weekend
Bobray 06-19-2008, 10:37 PM When I went to MGM Studios (now Hollywood Studios) it was packed with people. Some people slept in tents the night before. Before the park even opened, there was only one row of parking left. Many fans were dressed up as Star Wars characters. In one shop, u could make your own lightsaber. The line was out the door though. They had a merchandise shop just for the weekends called Wicket's Warehouse. They had cool shirts, hats, and pins. They had three pins. One they had 7000 of, the others they only had 1200. They were packed too. The new Toy Story Mania was, as u guessed it, packed with people. Luckily, when we went on it, it was a 70 minute wait. On our way back though, the line was a 140 minute wait. Has anyone experienced Walt Disney Parks that packed?
Mizz.V 06-19-2008, 10:49 PM Not at all! Wow, that is really jam packed! Summer has attracted millions of people into disney I guess. I hear that toy story ride was good though. Was it? I would love to hear your expirance at such a packed time. Was the service good? This such as, thx for the further details. I would love to hear about this trip :)
BuzzBoy133 06-19-2008, 11:05 PM Yep! Durring Easter/Spring Break, the lines are really, really long! It wasn't that packed at HS/MGM, but the Magic Kingdom was!
Bobray 06-20-2008, 02:53 AM I liked the Toy Story Mania ride. Even though it was a long wait, they have a lot of decorations and stuff to look at in line. They even had an audioanamatronic Mr. Potatohead, but it broke down while I was in line. The game itself was cool. I liked doing all of the different games. You felt like u were actually there. For instance, when balloons would pop, u could feel the air in your face. When u see your score, they also rank u with a virtual prize and show u the high scores. It's a blast. As for service, I think Disney did the best they could to accomodate the large crowd. Like at Pizza Planet, they had more guests coming in than they had tables for. But employees quickly cleaned the tables immediately after customers finished so they could get people seated.
Jacques 06-20-2008, 02:13 PM I was on the opening crew for the Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland, and the summer it opened (1995), the line for the ride went out the Main Gate. Eventually, we reworked the queue so that it went through Adventureland, on to Main Street, through Frontierland and towards New Orleans Square.
The wait time? 4 1/2 hours.
IceManFan 06-20-2008, 02:27 PM thank goodness Star Tours wasn't that long of a wait lol. I expected it to be a 50-70 min. wait due to all the star wars fans riding it. Me and Bobray got to Star Tours just in time lol.

I have been to disney world many times but my worst were spring break and the week of christmas to new years. It is unbelivable. You can literally not move. One time we even went back to the contemporary for a while and played around then walked back out to the magic kingdom to find out they wouldn't let anybody else in because it was too crowded. I don't plan on going at that time again
nateyboyisweet 06-20-2008, 03:34 PM I usually go around mid july - early august and it is never that crowded. (i am going then this year too). I have only seen a waterpark get to many people but I usually dont go to the waterparks considering I have a pool of my own. I hope that the parks aren't that crowded this time I go.
Do they have fastpasses on toy story middway mania?
IceManFan 06-20-2008, 03:36 PM yes they do but they weren't until like 6:55-7:55 at night for fastpass return on Toy Story Mania

Really? I have gone both times many times and hasn't been that busy. Well on Christmas day, Easter day, New years day, and fourth of July you can't get into the parks at all, but other than that its kind of busy but not really.
