Taking the screenshot:
Using a 'click button' picture taking software:
Click the button, save the picture to your computer, in this case for example we will be using Example.phf. After you have saved the picture, skip to the "Editing" section.
Using a normal WINDOWS XP or newer computer:
At the top of your computer keyboard, you will see three buttons, Print Screen/SysRq, Scroll Lock, and Pause/Break. The SysRq only works on a download page, so we'll assume you are trying to get a screenshot of a non-downloadING thing. If it already has been downloaded, its fine. Hit the Print Screen/SysRq button and it will be in your clipboard. *For those who don't know, your clipboard is what Microsoft Office programs use to store copied stuff. Next, open Paint and pust Ctrl+V to paste it there. Now skip to the "Editing" section.
Using a MAC computer with nothing from the first topic:
Go to the place where you want to take a pic from then hold down the CMD [Command] and SHIFT keys. If you want a:
Entire Screen screenshot: Press 3 with the other keys
Small Screenshot: Press 4 with the other keys
Window Screenshot: Press the SPACEBAR after 4 and a camera icon should pop up.
Know that the resulting file will be placed on your desktop, named Picture X.pdf for versions of 10.3 or earlier and Picture X.png for 10.4 and later. Hold down CTRL with those keys above to copy it into the clipboard (See *). Change the name before taking further screenshots. Now skip to the "Editing" Section.
Editing:
Editing in Paint:
Opening the file:
**Open the Paint program up and then click "File", "Open", or CTRL+O. Then select the file you wish to edit, and it will appear, the area of it automatically resizing to the picture's area.
Editing 2 pictures together:
***Open another "Paint" window, get the file you want onto the screen (See **), and then click the dotted rectangle. Select the area you want to put on the other picture, and then push CTRL+C. Then move back to the other window, push CTRL+V, and it will appear on your 1st picture. Be careful not to stop moving the second picture before you are ready to place it where it is, it is EXTREMELY hard to get back to moving it without having white space in the area you left it before.
Cropping:
I have not found a way to do this in Paint yet, but save the file you are working on, open a digital camera editing software, and it will have a cropping feature.
Easy Custom Colors:
There is a "dropper" icon that looks like a medicine thing on the very left side. Click on that then click on the color in the current picture that you wish to copy. From another picture, move a section with the color you want, a small section, into the picture (See ***), then use the dropper technique. Then you will be with what you were DRAWING with last. You then have a custom color very easily!
Text Formatting:
First make your text box using the "A" icon on the left, then before tyoing your text, go to the left in the clear outlined box and select the bottom option if you want the background to be see-through. If you don't want it see-through, leave it alone. Then type your text in and right click on the highlited text. Format it the way you want then you're done!

Here is a useful tutorial (Not written by me) for different features:
