I was just wondering how to make avvies and sigs. I've looked for guides but can't find any that say how to make them. I can get pretty much any free program, and I also have paint. Thanks in advance!

Yes, I'd suggest Paint.
It won't work for avvies though; I've tried to enter my Paint designs as an avvie and it was apparently too big. I also suggest looking at the limit of size.

Paint works fine for both signatures AND avatars. Just make sure that it fits the size requirements and don't save it as a .bmp file. When saved as a .bmp it takes up WAY more space. Always save your paint files as .png. .gif is a good format but when you use paint to make .gifs then things get messed up. So stick with .png.

I use Photoshop CS2. It is expensive, but well worth it if you consider learning how to use it. I've heard that there is a free program called GIMP, but it is obviously not pro quality as I believe that it is free.
